"My family recently moved to Citrus Heights and we have had trouble with daycare in the past, but a family friend recommended La Petite to us, so we thought we would give it a try. Thus far La Petite has surpassed my and my husbands expectations. My largest concern when approaching the director, Julie Jenkins, was their safety protocols. I wanted to know that not just anyone was going to be watching my child, I would be able to get regular updates on how he was fairing and know without a doubt no stranger could come into the school and leave with my son. This is my first child and I didn’t want to take any chances. After discussing my concerns, the director shared their protocol and I was sold. They have safety measures like parent specific codes, cameras in all the classrooms, extensive background checks for employees and even an app that updates you on your child’s day every few hours (naps, accidents, notes, activities, etc). I wouldn’t choose to go anywhere else. They’ve become family and they are amazing."

"Really enjoy the relationship with most of the teachers, they truly seem to enjoy their jobs and like seeing my child's achievements. I am concerned about the amount of times my child has been sick and the interaction with infants/ spread of disease to the infant room."

"I love the teachers and staff. My son loves to come to school and gets mad at me if I come too early. My son has built amazing friendships with peers and relationships with the staff. It’s an amazing place for children."

"The teachers and kids are wonderful and the overall experience for my son has been positive. He's learning, growing, and making friends.The food and communication issues have been extremely disappointing though, most specifically, when the director doesnt take accountability or step up to it. Its important for parents to remain in the loop and I feel we dont get that experience here, ESPECIALLY, when I have co-workers with children in other LaPetite locations receiving a far better experience in this regard. For example, we recieved a text last night on Broght wheel asking which days our kids will be coming in next week so they can make the schedule/ensure coverage. This process started two weeks ago, with official paperwork, in the Rancho location! This is an operational need and it shouldnt be an afterthought. The poor planning and crummy communication is diminishing the trust I have with this location. Its frustrating."

"Per myself and my child, good. Wasn’t a huge fan of the Early Preschool teacher, and the severe staffing changes while she was in Preschool I feel like her learning aspect was taken away. Ms Nichole is amazing and I will be seriously sad to have my daughter leave for Kindergarten and have to find a new school based off my brother-in-laws experience and the problems we’ve had with him and the toddler teachers."

"I love this program and the staff are so kind and professional! They are also greet my family when we arrive and talk with us when we leave. There are very caring and loving teachers here and my son enjoys coming to school every day. The only thing that would be helpful is to know when pictures are coming to the school and to know how much my son ate for meals. He is such a picky eater that I would love to know an approximate amount of food he ate "

"My child's teacher is amazing and my child loves her very much. However, communication from the office staff is terrible. They do not let us know when there are illnesses going around(pink eye, flu, throwing up, rashes), they didn't tell us about picture day and they seem to only communicate negative behaviors and nothing positive."

"Overall we've had a positive experience. We have considered, and will continue to consider, changing schools to see if better individual attention is available elsewhere. Instructions for our children are generally ignored or mishandled. One child has missed several classroom events because they were sent to another room due to too many children being present. We are very appreciative of the education our oldest is receiving, but because they are often moved to a younger room we have concerns they will start to lag behind actual classmates."

Some of them are really good, but several of the caregivers do not hold the same values as my family does when it comes to caring for children. Some are unfriendly and seem annoyed when questioned about how our child was that day."
