Worst childcare center by far!!!!

"I have five children all of which have been in a daycare at some point in their lives and my experience with La Petite Windhorst (#7400) has been by far the worst that I've ever encountered. My two youngest children (currently 3mth and 3yr) had only been enrolled at LaPetite approximately two (2) months and every week it seemed that there was an act of negligence on the staff's behalf. The saying "A school is only as good as its leader" could not be more of an accurate statement. The leadership (i.e. director, Sharon Noah and assistant director, Jaki Avles ) of this facility are unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and incompetent in their ability to delegate and properly train their staff. Hence, the reason their turnover rate is absurdly high and children are being neglected under their care. The following are just a few examples of some of the negligence that my children experienced during their time at La Petite Windhorst (#7400): My newborn at 7 weeks was provided with someone else's breast milk. Although, her bottles were clearly labeled with her name and the contents (and also color coded white indicating formula) a very careless employee by the name of Jessica Bruwelheide still managed to feed my daughter someone else's bodily fluids. This young lady is still working with the infants and received no repercussion for her actions that I'm aware of. In addition, the directors failed to inform the parent of whom the breastmilk belonged to at the time of the incident instead they sent an empty bottle home with that parent's child as if the bottle was drunken by her baby. My 3 year old has severe peanut and tree nut allergies. The directors and teacher (upon her enrollment) were all made aware of this and an epipen was provided to them, which was kept in the front office in Jaki Avles, Asst. Director's desk drawer but I was told that the teacher would have it in their possession. Nonetheless, I was provided with a Precious status (updates on the children progress throughout the day, that's never up to date might I add) from Kymona Love, my daughter's teacher at the time, that included a picture of my daughter holding a handful of acorns (the tree nut that I specifically told them she should not be handling from day one). I immediately contacted the school and spoke with Jaki Avles. She assured me that the teacher was aware of my daughter's allergies but when I followed-up with the teacher days later she unintentionally mentioned she was not made aware of my daughters allergies upon coming into the class as a new teacher. Shortly, after that another incident occurred where my daughter had a huge welt across her forehead and a bruise in between her eye and nose, which I took pictures of once I arrived to the daycare. I was not notified or provided with an incident report therefore, I began to ask questions first to my daughter and then to the staff in which no one was able to provide me with an answer of what happened to my daughter's face. It was a situation where one teacher passed it off to the next, and that teacher didn't know what happened so she passed it off to the next and so forth and so on. Nonetheless, the amount of times that I heard "I don't know what happened" from the mouths of these so called caregivers is completely unacceptable. Which brings me to the most recent incident that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I've arrived to pick up my babies and as I'm walking toward my daughter I notice that her nose is running but it is extremely red underneath her nose and on top of her nose. As I get closer to her as she is sitting beside yet another new teacher and I guess she could tell that I'm looking at her strange so she says to me "Mommy I fell" so being a concerned parent I immediately go over and take a look at her face and her nose and the upper area of her lip were scraped up. At this time the teacher (who had just started two days prior so I didn't even know his name not to mention he wasn't even supposed to be teaching my daughter but apparently they were short staff again per usual and he was floating) chimes in and says "oh she tripped and fell outside today." So I immediately say well I wasn't notified of any injury and I asked was it cleaned with antiseptic because it clearly looked to have not been cleaned. He proceeds to say no but I can give you an antiseptic wipe if you want to clean it. I reply that would be nice and he begins to search but was unable to locate a single antiseptic wipe in his class. I immediately take my daughter to Jaki Avles, Asst. Director and ask her for an antiseptic wipe and the reason I was not notified of an injury to my daughter's face and she replies as she's handing me a baby wipe that she was unaware of any injury and she doesn't know what happened. Upon arriving home my daughter began complaining of having mulch in her mouth and that is when it was discovered that her front tooth was also chipped."

"My experience has been wonderful!! My child loves it there and is happy every day when I pick him up. The teachers clearly care about the kids but hold a high standard to the curriculum and care of their classes. I don't know how they do it but they get major kudos from me!"

"The director, Sharon, is very engaging and hands on. She is professional and attentive when I address concerns to her. Unfortunately the supporting staff lacks these important traits. The quality of care is severely lacking for school age children on breaks from school. The constant turnover of staff leaves unqualified staff and an inability to take the children on field trips and separate the school age children from the younger ones."
