SCAM AND THEFT

"I was hired by this company to be a “text revisor.” After several days of work when they owed me over two hundred dollars, they told me my position was no longer available but that I could be a “sales” person for them.
The job description included accepting other people’s money directly to my own PayPal and then sending it to the company.

I said no, they disappeared, and never paid me for the work I completed.

"I used a price search engine to find the lowest price for a BenQ 24" LCD E2400HD monitor from a reseller with decent ratings. This store came up with a price significantly below the rest of the crowd, too good to be true I thought, but since it seemed to have decent reviews I ordered anyway. The transaction went through right away and I got an order confirmation and an expected delivery date a couple of days in the future.

Ever since the day I placed the order I kept checking the status on-line, and every time I would check, the delivery date would be still a couple of days in the future. I finally lost my patience and called them only to have them lie to me that it was a payment issue. I called my bank right away to find out that there wasn't a payment issue and that the payment went through without any problems on the same day I placed the order. I finally called to confront them about this and they admitted that they could not honor their commitment to deliver, and finally canceled my order. I am yet to receive a refund from them.

My advice: avoid.

"I found this company through an advert in a PC magazine and found their website very professional and easy to use. I placed an order for a high-spec build-to-order computer workstation for which I paid almost £2000. There was a wait of just over 3 weeks between my placing the order and the system being delivered.
The very first time I used the computer it fataly damaged 3 of my USB devices, I reported the fault to Komplett who replied within 24 hours, the not very helpfull response informed me that the system had tested ok before shipping and asked if I had tried the USB ports on the rear of the case or just those on the front.
When I tried the system again it would not even boot up and the lack of a POST beep suggested a fault with the motherboard. I reported this new information to Komplett who again replied promptly, issuing me a RMA number and offering to arrange for the item to be collected if I would give them a preffered date for the pickup, which I did.
I took a day off work and waited in all day for the PC to be collected but no one turned up so I sent another email to Komplett. After a couple of days I had not received a reply so I emailed Komplett again, there was still no response so I sent a third email the next day.
This time they replied saying they had no idea what had gone wrong and would I give them another date for the collection of the faulty system.
I sent them another date and once more there was no collection, so I emailed Komplett demanding that they get their act together and collect the computer and informed them that I wished to have my money refunded.
I received no answer and sent a further 5 emails over the course of the next week, none of which have been answered.
Finaly I took the faulty PC into a local PC shop and had them check it out, they informed me that whoever built the sytem had transposed the USB and Firewire leads when wiring up the motherboard and the Firewire controller chip had been burnt out when I attached my USB devices.

"Wanting to add additional memory to my computer, I researched the precise speed, PIN number, and configuration I needed on Komplett's website. I then searched through the komplett.ie site and found memory matching those specifications. I ordered the memory. When it arrived, I opened the thermoplastic packaging and attempted to insert the memory. It turns out that a heatsink on this memory made it incompatible with my machine. I explained to them that it was through the descriptions and features on their website that I chose this particularly memory in the first place and that I'd like to return the memory and get the right one. Komplett customer service told me they might not take it back but that I'd have a better chance of getting a partial refund if I placed an additional order for the "correct" memory. This is extortion. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this poorly run company."

"I've bought a lot of stuff off Komplett.ie and would look to them first when thinking about a new purchase. Their website is well laid out and account details are easily accessible. My gripe came recently when I realised I'd ordered the wrong part. Usually the order is easily cancelled as long as it hasn't been picked or shipped, but on this occasion on the weekend, my order was 'picking in progress' and I could not cancel, whilst getting no reply to e-mails. That said they are taking it back, me bearing the cost of return. Prices are good with most popular items, but sometimes I have found their range to be limited especially when looking for more enthusiast type products."

"Ordered a Fuji S7000 Digital Camera. It arrived later than promised and totally inadequate packing. Although the shipping box was undamaged the box inside was badly dented and the internal plastic tray was cracked. The camera was not new ( the plasic cover that should have been over the CCD viewfinder was removed and there was a finger\thumb print on the screen.
I had a lot of trouble getting an RMA numer and my attempts to contact Customer Services were failures.
I eventually got a credit card refund but am still out of pocket for the return delivery and phone calls.

"Ordered a WD Special Edition 160GB HDD to replace a failing one. Ordered late on friday, was dispatched monday and with me by wednesday, as was to be expected as I chose the cheaper delivery option. Unfortunately they use Parcel Force (or farce ;) ) which is a bit of a downside, but it did get here ok. Had problems getting my card through their online ordering system, but this was resolved after calling my bank, so wasn't neccessairly their fault."

"This company refused to issue an RMA number. I asked for one under the distance selling regs within 2 days of receipt. Komplett breached the regs by not informing me of my right to return goods, so in fact I had 3 months to return within. I have a full copy of the regs care of UK trading standards .

Komplett said they would only exchange the items.

I had a series of emails over 1 month with me demanding an rma for a refund and komplett refusing me my consumer rights.

I explained the regs to Komplett and made them aware that I knew the regs fully .

However they decided to front it out in the hope that I would give up and go away .

Eventually I told Komplett I would sue them in 7 days. On day 7 they send me an email; saying they will refund me.

I send the goods back and they confirm receipt.

They then send me an email saying they will let me know what action they will take in a few days!! They do not bother to let me know anything . Note this goes back on their agreement to refund me .

I send angry , but polite email expressing my disgust with them. And they reply saying " see you in court " - i am not joking , thats verbaitim .

I have no refund and no goods and have paid for delivery £9 and return £6.

I am out over £250 and have had to put up with rude, obnoxious and unhelpful emails and unnecessary stress.

I can provide all the emails as evidence .

This company is not interested in good relations or customer service. This is not an isolated incident. Check www.dooyoo.co.uk and www.ciao.co.uk using komplett as the search , for other reports of this company’s appalling behaviour. You will wonder how komplett have managed to score 100% when so many people at dooyoo and cia report rubbish service and being ripped off .

"I recently ordered a bunch of hardware to upgrade my PC, from Komplett, including an Athlon XP 2500+, Epox 8RDA+, Western Digital Special Edition 120GB 8MB cache HDD (WD1200JB) and two sticks of TwinMOS PC3200 DDR memory. The pricing was very good, and the delivery was well packaged and promptly delivered. I'd shop from them again, particularly given their very good prices and wide stock range."
