"I received the jewelry armoire on time and it was well packaged. Unfortunately the quality of the piece was less than expected for the price. There were cracks and areas where the stain is flaking off. I am going to see what I can do to touch up all the cracks because it is too difficult to return."

"My parents ordered an armoire as a gift for me. When we opened it, we realized it was damaged. I contacted Jeweryboxdirect.com and though I had to send pictures of the damage, it was quickly taken care of and in the end my parents credited. I still love the armoire as it's exactly what I was looking for , but since I am going out of town for a couple weeks, I will reorder when I get back. I will order it from them again as they did a very good job dealing with the situation and were nothing but honest and clear every step of the way. It took only the time that I expected it would and they had told me it would to take care of everything. I was credited while on the phone with customer service once they knew it was picked up. Definitely makes me feel more comfortable ordering online and from them. I only gave 4 stars because I wish that the item was perfect the first time around, but otherwise a 5 stars in how my order was handled by customer service."

"There is no human Customer Service at this company. Calling their telephone gets you only voicemail, no person.

I ordered 2 jewelry boxes, one $99 one with a padlock and another cheaper one for the lesser items in my collection. When only the cheaper one arrived Monday, I tried calling the telephone number and got voicemail 4 times over the course of several days. There was a holiday this week so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I logged into the website as the voicemail instructed, only to find the status of the expensive jewelry box was "sold out". This company did not email me to ask me if I wanted a refund or wanted to wait for the other jewelry box.

So I called back the voicemail and informed them that I needed them to give me a refund on the $99 item immediately, because I was moving out of state and had wanted the item to move my jewelry, but that I would probably move before they could get new stock in place. I needed to close the account that I had charged the items on before I left the state because it was a joint account and it would cost my $500 to fly back here later and close it, and I didn't want to close the account with this balance outstanding because then the bank would likely just screw things up.

Bottom line is, I have not heard back from this company, therefore I have contacted my bank to dispute the $99 charge and have it reversed. I tried to do the right thing and follow the company's instructions, but since they have not properly worked with me, then they need to just have the money ripped from them. Some folks here might be thinking that expecting them to contact me back immediately is unrealistic, but they have had my money since 06-22-2012 so they have known they were out of stock for 2 weeks now.

I wish I had read these reviews previously to ordering from them, I would have just gone to Target and picked out a kiddie ballerina jewelry box and called it a day. I do not need this extra stress on top of packing my truck to go to Georgia.

In order to improve, I would like to offer the following suggestions to this company:
a) If you post a telephone number on your website, you better gosh darn answer it.
b) If you don't have an item in stock, you better disable it on the website and not take any money for it. That is basically fraud.
c) If you do take money for something and find out that item is actually out of stock, you better send that customer an email, a phone call or a smoke signal to let them know so they can choose how to deal with it. Being left in limbo, worse, having your money left in limbo with some stranger is very uncomfortable and you, the company, must take great pains to prove you are worthy of that trust.
d) Better yet, if you find you are sold out of an item, send an immediate apology and issue a refund to the customer without being asked. That should be your default policy at all times. That would improve your customer service 100% in my opinion, since that is what I wish would have happened in this case.

I've seen your merchant responses. There is no way to spin this so please don't try. You have my money, I do not have the item I ordered. Refund is needed here. ASAP. No excuses.

"My sister and I have bought two armoires from jewelryboxdirect.com. as we have decided to give them as gifts to our 6 daughters and 1 grandaughter. The first we had no problem with and we were happy with the product and service. The second which we bought for my daughters birthday in February did not match her furniture. We asked to exchange for a more expensive + bigger Armoire. I paid $90.00 to have it professionally wrapped by UPS Store and Insurance too and sent it back for exchange (including the cardboard box it came in but which was ripped.) MARIE has told us they can NOT exhange it because we did not send it back in the ORIGINAL CARDBOARD BOX which ripped when we opened it. The armoire was in perfect shape and examined + insured by the UPS Store. IT has been over 60 days with no resolution in sight. We are going to have to resort to a lawyer + small claims court since we have not received any communications from MARIE or jewelrybox.com. The biggest disappointment is my daughter is STILL waiting for her birthday present. DO NOT ORDER FROM jewelryboxdirect.com !!!"

"I fell in love with a jewelry box and had to have it. I have to say that it is as beautiful as described and pictured. I have been disappointed before because the picture looked nothing like the item and I had send it back. Not the case here thankfully. Great pictures, easy website to navigate, and good shipping. "I am not one to normally write reviews, but felt that this experience was worth the time. I ordered a beautiful jewelry box for my niece and had it sent directly to her. Unfortunately, her mother called me to say it was damaged in shipping. I contacted Jewelry Box Direct and they quickly resolved the issue and within a couple days she had a perfect jewelry box. She loves it and I couldn’t be happier. Really surprised how easy it all was and will shop again.

"DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM JEWELRY BOX DIRECT. You can never reach a live body. Only an email response. I purchased an armoire for $338 and it arrived in damaged condition. I did everything they requested and more, sending them pictures and a description of the damage etc. They said that they would get me an RMA number. That was back in January and now it is April and I have emailed and called and have gotten no response. I am now going to have to take this to a higher level and get my refund that way. This is horrible customer service. I do not recommend them for any kind of purchase. I would be very wary."
