"I orderded two cosmoline-preserved "Mosin-Nagant Chinese Type 53 Rifles". I got them. One has seriously corrosive big spots in the bore, on the bolt and on the barrel and it's not cosmoline-preserved. Another one has a broken stock. I wanted to exchange the corrosive one with one "Steyr 95/34 Rifle". But, they refused to give me the RA label and asked me to pay all the return shipping fee."

"selection of items is good, prices competitive, but customer service is terrible. Returned item after 3 phone call to AZ trying to get necessary return code (an item cannot be JUST returned)and after sending it back and 2 weeks later called 2x (on hold one time for 15 mins) trying to have their 'service' department acknowledge receipt of my item. A real pain in the butt, I'm done with this Muppet show. "

"J&G sales came through for me. They helped me source a AR style rifle that is very hard to find. Not only did they track down exactly what I asked for but they also had the best price. Customer service exceeded my expectations and the gun was delivered on time and in perfect condition. What more could you ask for?"

"I bought a saiga off J&gsales less than a week ago. They dropped the price on the gun the day mine shipped by 100 dollars. I called and ask if they would honor the sales price. The manager was rude, wouldn't let me speak and talked over me when I was asking questions. Compared my sale to buying gas. This will be the last time I buy anything from this store. Lots of gun store out there folks."

"I have had excellent service from J&G on several purchases. My purchases were as promised and shipping exceeded what I expected. Two of the rifles I hav purchased involved communication with the J&G specialists (via email) where I requested special consideration and was very pleased with the cooperation. One was a special request and they took good care of my request. Another was a problem with an order which they promptly responded and a replacement was shipped. I have found that J&G works diligently to provide the highest quality customer service and if there is a problem all that is necessary is to communicate with them. I would recommend J&G to any of my associates,friends, or family."

"Horrible service.
Wanted to purchase a CZ82 but when phoning, the sales rep said they were probably not good because only a few were available, so I went with a 9x18 Makerov which was a bit more, shipping rates were high so the 270 dollar gun ended up costing 350..
I was told it was going to ship and arrive in 2 days.. 3 days later ... nothing I called and they knew nothing of the order, I had them do research, and they came back and said, OK they could not get a response from my ffl, a major dealer who J and G already has on file. The sales rep from JG Sales said he was going to call again. I called my FFL and told them and they said that JG never called. I told them to expect a call
The next day I called my FFL and was told that JG Sales never called, so I called them back
The sales rep said he tried but the phone "rang and rang and was never answered" although that has never happened to me when I call the FFL
I gave the JG Sales rep the direct dial number to the sales person at my FFL and he said he was going to call.
JGSales rep said he was going to ok the shipment
5 days later... nothing ... going on day 6
I called JGSales again and was told that it must have been too late in the day that he cleared the gun for shipment, before noon must be late in the day for them
JG Sales said it should ship today, but he was not sure because he does not know anything about the shipping dept..
Horrible service
No communication with clients
High hidden charges
i will not be doing buisness with them again

"This company is terrible. I ordered a 100 rounds of 556 ammo by Federal. I will admit that I let it sit in the box for a few months because I was busy. When I opened it I found a 1000 rounds of cheap Russion 7.62 ammo. When I contaced J&G Sales, they basically told me "too bad", we will not make it right. No discount on a new order, nothing. Rude attitude, etc. Also, I purchased a firearm from them. They were confusing to deal with, and I think they would have sent it to my house if I had not clarified that it needed to be sent to an FFL. They seem confused and disorganized. Definately buyer beware. It would be one thing if they were disorganized but pleasant and nice. Unfortunately, they are neither, in my experience. I would recommend dealing with other companies and not this one. "

"My overall experience with J&G Sales was very good. I placed two orders with them close together. Both orders were firearms to my local FFL.
I had to have my FFL fax their paperwork off to them before placing my order, but once I did, the order went smooth.

Their order system, if you do not pay attention, can cause issues because it will auto ship to yourself as opposed to your FFL.
My first order I put in all the info for my FFL and forgot to hit Add and clicked the Next via the order process and placed the order shipping to myself. I immediately called them and spoke with them explaining I made a mistake on my order. They were very helpful with the situation and corrected it quickly without any issues. My FFL had just faxed the paper work to them so they did not have it "filed" away yet, but was nice enough to go grab it, file it and clear my order.
Then sometime after the order shipped upon further research and background I realized what the call for availability and a extra charge for a option was about. When I called them I checked to see what kind of availability they had and when they found out I had another order that had just shipped they wanted to find solutions or possible options to the fact my order already shipped without that option...and maybe the possibility of a return or something to add the option.
I explained it was my "own" fault for not doing my research and background, and fully reading first, and advised them not to feel obligated and go out of their way.

With my second order I got it right and all went pretty smooth over all. I did have to call them about adding a option or "selection" to the order and they explained it to me without any major reservations. The individual I spoke to this second time seemed helpful, and did help, but the first gentleman I spoke with seemed a little more enthusiastic to go out of his way for positive CSAT.
Not saying either was a bad experience, but if I had to find anything, and really dig, that might feel like the slight bit of customer service abrasion, based on others reviews...maybe that would be it?
The second firearm I got was in a little rougher condition than the first, but that is too be expected as stock was dwindled.

If I could find one thing about them maybe compared to other FFL's is they probably do not handle the same volume nationally, and do possibly more local business? With this being said, they do not have the bleeding edge of e-commerce ordering technology or utilize a database with a vast selection of US FFL's to choose from via the ordering system upon checkout.

It would seem I was blessed in dealing with J&G and had a great experience overall that did not seem to reflect any of the other reviews.

"This company, unfortunately, is out to take advantage of people. They will lie, and then tell you that you are the liar. They will change the price of the item you are trying to purchase WHILE YOU ARE ON THE PHONE with them! The representatives are extremely rude and do not care at all about helping you. This business has horrible ethics. Do not order from them. They will take your money and then never send you the item. They will simply say you never placed an order. I have bought many online FFL items, and J&G Sales is by far the worst online store I have ever dealt with."

"Visited J&G Sales November 29 to buy a Walther P1 pistol. They did not answer their phone during normal business hours. When I was finally able to flag down a salesman, the poor guy most have just come out of a lemon bath: what a sorry, sour disposition! I told him I came to see a Walther P1 pistol and that I was going to buy one that day. Instead of showing me a pistol, he tossed me a 4473 form, the federal firearms form, and said fill it out.

After filling the form, he pulled a P1 off the counter and handed it to me. It looked rough, but considering it was 40 to 60 years old, I guess you shouldn’t expect a great looking gun. When I asked for a bore light to check the condition of the barrel, he stated he didn’t have any, someone had taken his. (This is one of the largest mail order & retail gun sellers in the southwest.) I ask if anyone else had a light to which he stated, we don’t have them. If you want, we have them on the shelf for sale. You can buy one and use it. (That is what customer service is all about!)

I took the pistol to a the best light source in the building and used their business card to shine light in the barrel. Now I see why he would not let me have a light. The barrel was very badly corroded and the pistol would never shoot accurately. I told Mr. Friendly the barrel was quite rough and ask to see another pistol. Mr. Friendly informed me that owners, the DeSaye boys, would only permit one gun to be seen and shown during this, Black Friday Sale. WOW, the epitome great customer service.

When you are the big dog on the block, I guess they feel they can do anything they want and the public will roll over and take it. I don’t believe that is the business model their father, Joe built the business on. There are many other stores that sell firearms, with friendly, helpful service. I and many others will certainly patronize the others in these challenging economic time.
