I ordered a helmet and a pair of skates from them and they sent them to my house. I kept the helmet but decided to return the skates because they weren't as good as I expected. I asked for a return label and they sent me one. In the box they sent the skates and helmet (which I bought and kept) I returned a different helmet that I had purchased from them. I was doing them a favor and the environment a favor by not using two different boxes to make the returns. For my consideration they charged me $15 shipping fee because I included the helmet in what otherwise would have been a half-empty box being sent back.

I called to ask they fix their error and spoke with one of the managers (Stephen) who listened to me and told me that he can't help me because the shipping label was for the skates only.

SO: I bought a helmet from them for $200 and to thank me they charged me $15 to include an item in a box that would otherwise have been sent half empty.

Way to take care of your customers and the environment!

"I was more that impressed with there service. Free overnite shipping, name brand product , and amazing customer service. I got a pair of bauer supremes for my little sister, thet were to narrow. I filled out there easy return form shipped it back and got my return within 48 hours. The customer service rep was so nice and even though it was not ther fault they still gave me a discount on the new skates which fit so perfectly there was no need to even break them in. I will countinue to use ice warehouse

I bought the pro Guard slide board for my 9 year old son. Icewarehouse always has great shipping. I set the board up and let him start to slide after showing him some mechanics. He is about 60 lbs and an intermediate travel player.

5 mins later one side of the glide board shears off... Contact Icewarehouse and they gladly ask the MFG to send a replacement and return shipping for the defective one. About one week later I get the second board and my son is very excited.

We set it up and 5 mins later, the same thing happens again. Very poorly designed with small tabs holding the side of the board together.

Contacted Icewarehouse and say I want a return. They say they have 200lbs men sliding on this thing and have had it for a year... hmm, think that the design or manufacturing could have changed? Because of agreements with their MFGs, they cannot immediately issue a refund.

"I highly recommend IceWarehouse. My son is just getting into hockey and I was looking at a few local places at gear. Or course before I bought I came home and searched online. I came across IW and their prices were 1/3, sometimes 1/2 the price of the local B&M stores. I compared prices at several of the big sites (h-monkey, h-giant, totalhockey, etc) and IW was always cheapest, not to mention 10% off every order plus free shipping over $50. I placed 2 orders, one on a Saturday, one the next day. Both orders shipped Monday, gear arrived in time for weekend play :)

Before I ordered, or order from any site online, I always check resellerRatings. I saw IW had excellent reviews so I did not hesitate.


edit March 9, 2013 - since my initial review I have placed 2 more orders with Icewarehouse. All orders processed quickly, in 1 case it was same day as I ordered early. And all orders shipped same day as they were processed. Prices cant be beat, free shipping beats any other hockey site. This is the only site I will buy hockey gear from. 5 stars across the board."

"So in the last three weeks I have spent around $1700 in gear from Ice Warehouse. I had joined their frequent purchase plan for $10, which made sense. Their prices were already competitive, and with an additional 10% off and free shipping - the deals worked out. All the equipment was sent out the same day! Playing Ice Hockey in Florida doesn't give you a lot of choices in getting things fast - so prompt delivery was a must. Then I purchased from the Hockey Monkey. I ordered a couple of items yesterday in excess of $200, aside for paying shipping - the items went out the next day (today) - so now I have to wait until next Monday to get the gear. STICK TO ICE WAREHOUSE!"

"I'm an international customer, I often help people in my country to buy hockey gears and I chose IW for this because of their 10% discount. I probably spent more than $60,000 since December 2011.

While the speed of their service is excellent, I feel that there's still room for improvement on their customer service especially when helping international customers. They need to remember that we don't have the luxury to try the gears and the cost to return/exchange is very high.

Some more detailed help like measurements/sizing/fit or anything that will help overseas customer who don't have a local hockey shop will make me put 5 stars for them :)

Another downside of IW is sometimes the lack of item selection and stock.
