"This company is SLOW and DISHONEST. It took them almost two weeks just to acknowledge my order I placed online. (Most companies I deal with take at MOST a day). The acknowledgement said that I would receive my items in 3 more weeks. This seemed like a long time, but the other companies that had my item were overseas, so I figured 3 weeks was better than ordering from overseas.

Big mistake. Three MONTHS went by and nothing happened. Finally I e-mailed the company asking about my order. Another TWO weeks went by with no reply. Finally I got an e-mail saying that they had to wait for my item to be restocked but now it was on its way. Obviously they knew they didn't have the item, and instead of telling me straight up, they procrastinated and lied. I could have ordered from the overseas company and still gotten my order faster. One of the items was a birthday gift, and even though I ordered it MONTHS ahead of time, I still couldn't give it. I e-mailed the company again, asking bluntly why I wasn't told about my item being out of stock, and given the option to change/cancel the order. That complaint elicited the only timely repsonse I ever got from this company, containing some platitudes about how indeed that's what they should have done. But actions speak louder than words.

I don't know if my experience is typical, but the opaque communications left me with a very bad feeling and I will not be buying from them again.

"Company posts stuff the do not have in stock, so when you order they will take weeks to even get it in stock. Their service is non existent. Emailing them via the regular email was even worse: it never arrived. We then called and got bogus answers a few times. When finally going to the bbb we got a nastygram (they all of a sudden could answer, eh?) from the owner than we are erratic and nuts and so on. We got nothing from them, not even an apology. Only thing he did sauy is that we NEVER called them and so on... If Hippygift.com would spend as much time helping their customers in a normal way as they do in telling their upset clients off afterwards they could be pretty good."
