"This is awful customer service. I have been calling the last week and half, filled out a ticket, and left 2 messages. The collar is a joke! We have had the Humane Contain package for less than 2 months and have not had a collar that has worked over a week. Took 4 hours to install the underground fence. Do not buy this product!!

I recieved a response from Customer Support regarding my issue I was having with the collar and charger. They immediately sent out a new collar and charger and also a 2nd collar in the case there are problems again at no cost. I appreciated the fast response and resolution to the problem with the collar. I'm hoping they are looking into the reasoning behind why the collars are not functioning properly and a fix has been made.

"I must say I was a little worried about ordering my Power pet door after reading some of the negative reviews, but after corresponding via email with Maria she set my mind at ease and was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Shipping was faster then expected and while I haven't had a chance to have the unit installed I'm sure I will love it and I know if any problems arise Maria will be able to help.
Thanks high tech pet for a pleasant experience.

"We love our doggy door. We have the medium automatic door. We did have some problems with our door about 14 months after we purchased it. I was a bit turned off with my first interaction with their customer service department. It was a mixture of my frustration + the fact that my husband and I had invested so much in this companies products (close to $600 including the door + collars + replacement collars).

Within a day, their customer service department followed up with me. I was genuinely surprised and overall impressed with their service. Although my door had problems after 14 months of use ... they do stand behind their product and shipped me a new door with an extended warranty. It really makes me trust them and feel much better about spending so much on a doggy door.

I would definitely recommend their products for anyone looking for a pet door solution!

"I ordered the Large Power Pet Electronic Patio door. The seller failed to provide on the website that a direct signature would be required by Fedex. I didn't think I'd be able to get my package because I'm never home when Fedex arrives. Luckily I my Fedex driver felt sorry for me and left the package based upon the note I left on the. It took about a week for the door to get here. It was packaged very well with sufficient bubble wrap and packaging.

It took me about a week to unpack it because I had to wait for my new sliding door to be installed. Once that was complete, I got the contents out and started installation. Unfortunately, the directions aren't the clearest. (There are videos on the website for installation of the more traditional pet doors but not the patio one.) Luckily, I had a friend come over who had installed a similar pet door at their house.

PROS: My dog figured it out very easily, which I was surprised. I like that you can adjust the sensitivity of the collar. After a little testing, I got it set up right. I have a 100lb German Shepherd and she just barely fits through this door. She really has to bend down to fit out and her back scrapes the top, but she fits luckily. She gets a little freaked out by the sound of the sound of the door.

CONS: Although the electronic part of the door is great, a little more work could have been put into the actual set up of the door. Although it came with some of the foam weatherstripping it wasn't nearly enough. I had to install more strips on my own, otherwise there were huge gaps between my sliding door and the pet door. Also, the upper glass part of the pet door must not be very thick. I woke up this morning and there is condensation all over the door. My door is very wet and I'm hoping that this doesn't run down into the mechanics. I need to figure out a way to help insulate the door better. The door is also very expensive. Another con is the limited customer service hours. Because I tried installing at 6pm EST on a Saturday, there was no one available. The website says 24/7 support is coming soon though...

Overall, I'm glad I bought the door. Its SUPER expensive but I'm hoping it will help me dog out when I'm gone on long days. Once I do a few fixes on my own, I'm hoping to make it a better product.

"Awesome!! I love this pet door. The best money I ever spent.
I have two Bichon's that I have to leave every day to go to work. I work very long hours because I have a 9/80 schedule. Since I have got this door for my dogs I no longer stress or worry about them while at work. They go in and out all day long by themselves.

One of my Bichon's was a rescue dog and is scared of his own shadow. In my previous house I had a flap dog door and he was scared to use it because the noise scared him and the flap dragged on his back. He is so sensitive. He took to the automated pet door right away and surprised me because he got it faster than the other Bichon who was was older.

I had this door professionally installed by someone that has put in many of these doors and he told me they are easy to insall. It only took him an hour. So even if you do it yourself I think you would be okay. Defintely get the tunnel with it. My pet door is mounted to the wall not to a door.

I love this pet door. If for any reason the door would quit working after my warranty I will order one the next day. It is well worth the money. The best door ever!!!

My only helpful hint would be to take the electronic collar you get with your door and have it sewn onto another collar that is easier to take on and off of your dog. This saves me a ton of time in the mornings.

"In April, we purchased an electric fence w 3 RX-10 collars for our 2 dogs from a friend who purchased it 3 yrs ago directly from High Tech Pets ("HTP"). Our friend never opened or used his system since his dog had died. We purchased it because the product claims to be fully waterproof, knowing that our dogs would swim in the pond on our property. 2 or 3 months after installing, all of the collars failed to hold a charge. Since we were outside the 1 yr warranty from the purchase date, we were forced to buy 2 new RX-10 collars, but 1 wk after receiving, both failed to hold any charge. We received new collars from customer service, but after ~2 weeks, one of our dogs was REPEATEDLY shocked after swimming for only 10 mins. When I complained to HTP (after being hung up on 4x), I was told that, contrary to their claims, RX-10 collars are NOT waterproof. However, Nick Bonge promised 3 RX-10 collars that he would personally waterproof test. That was over 1 mo. ago. Since, they have told us each wk (after i call them, and not from them calling me!) that the collars must be specially made to be waterproof and we'll receive them soon. My response is that i dont need something specially made, i just want collars that are waterproof, as advertised! After being told collars would be here last Tuesday (and receiving a email with a fedex tracking number claiming that the collars would be overnighted), and not receiving them, I called HTP informing them that I had not received a package from fedex. HTP said It was a problem with fedex and they would call me bavk but they never did! The next day i called fedex and they said only a shipping label with shipping info was received, and no item was given to fedex to ship. I called HTP AGAIN and they said that i would receive a refund since they could not make a collar that was waterproof. HTP said I wouldn't receive a refund. They could only send me my original collars.
The primary basis of my claim is false advertising. HTP claims that the collar is fully waterproof; however, as repeatedly admitted by customer service, HTP collars are not!! I would not purchase any product from high tech pets!!!

"I purchased the Power Pet Medium door a few years ago and it worked great for over 3 yrs. I contacted the company and customer service was very nice and helpful. They sent me a replacement door with a label to return my old door back. I have been so pleased with the product and the company that I purchased my second door for my garage. I couldn't be more satisfied with the new door and fast shipping. The door works amazing. The company made some improvements to the new model and added new features. My dog is in love with her door. I have recommended this company to family and friends and they are fully satisfied with the company. This is a genuinely great company that takes cares of their customers and pets."

"We purchased the Power Pet electronic pet door and have been impressed and delighted from the moment we took it out of the box. The unit came on time and well packed. It only took a couple of hours to install in our wall and our dog loves it even more than we do. This wonderful product has freed us from having to constantly get up to let out the dog. It has worked perfectly for several months now with no problems. This is a great invention and extremely useful and practical. "UPDATE: My door broke after a year and I had some really bad customer service experience after buying replacement parts the door still did not work, I had posted a very negative review based on my experience on this site. The company immediately contacted me, sent a replacement door free of charge along with 2 dog collar sensors and a shipping label to send the old door and replacement parts back. The new door seems has better technology than the old model and is working fantastic! The customer service followed up a couple of times after to find out if everything was good, and I wanted to post a follow up as it was only fair to let everyone know that this company did address and correct the problem. I will continue to shop with them."
