"Despite reading some negative reviews regarding their responsiveness, I took a chance and ordered the Polk FXiA4 surround speakers. The order was placed on 8/14, and I received an email confirmation of order acceptance immediately. I also received a shipment confirmation on 8/16, with a UPS tracking number. The speakers were delivered on 8/23, in line with UPS tracking information. The box was sealed and the speakers were brand new as promised, and I've been enjoying them for about a week now with great results.

My experience buying from High Decibels was very positive, and I've not had any problems along the way. I think what made this work was that I checked with them to ensure the product was in stock before placing the order. Their sales team was very responsive, with prompt emails to address each of my questions. They had the best internet prices, and the transaction went through "Safe and Sound", which is an authorized dealer for Polk; thus ensuring validation of the full factory warranty in case of any problems in the future.

My product was not in stock, however, even though they canceled the order the same day, I did not receive notification from them or from PayPal. "Great customer service. Once we placed our order, we were immediately notified that there would be about a one week's delay in shipment because the receiver was a back ordered item. Since we were in no hurry, that was not a problem for us, but it was nice to hear a real voice tell us about the delay. "I tried to order a Samsung TV from HighDecibels.com. I received an automated response that the order was received and would be shipped via UPS. So far, so good. Sent a reply asking about shipping charges if I were to order another TV (trying to give them a bigger sale). No response. Eleven days later, I send an email asking for an update on when the TV would ship. This is the response I received:

Yep. Order cancelled by HighDecibels. So if they knew it was out of stock and had no ETA, why did they take the order and then wait until after had I sent two emails before telling me? As noted on so many other reviews - very poor communication. At least they didn't charge my credit card."

I just got my Denon 1910 in the unopened, full retail box in perfect condition. I can't wait to get this thing setup.

Great price($349.99 shipped, has a price tag of $549.95 on the box), great service, fast delivery. Maybe some people have had problems in the past but it's been all aces for me.

They said they are under new management and from what it looks like, they have made all the right decisions to become a great company. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

"Not to revive an old topic, but just addressing the sentiments of previous users concerned over highdecibels.com being a scam from my own recent, personal experience.

To my knowledge, they are a legitimate (and I use that word VERY loosely) operating business, i.e. you order a product and (eventually) they ship it to you. However, expect to wait a week or more for them to finally ship the product after you've received order confirmation. And if you expect any timely follow up emails, let alone replies that answer the question you are asking, you will be gravely disappointed.

Additionally, the contact link on their website has been disabled so E-mail is their only form of contact. Based on my credit card statement, I was able to find the additional information below regarding the company...

"I did a lot of searching for the Polk surrond speakers I was looking for and HighDecibels had far and away the best pricing. I placed my order and almost immediately received confirmation of my order and a note that things normally ship in 24-48 hours but some items could take 3-5 business days.

I waited to hear an update when items shipped and finally went to try and seek and update on the order status. I was dismayed to find the only means of communication seemed to be email.

I went ahead and sent and email requesting some sort of status update. The next day I received detailed shipping information and the product shipped at about the same time or was already in route.

In the end I received the items with no issues and I'm extremely happy with the result. I wouldn't say HighDecibels rates at the top of customer service compared to some online retailers, but I appreciate the pricing which probably reflects the low overhead of the operation.

All in all I'm very happy with the result and would not hesitate to use them again. The Polk Audio RTi A6 surround speakers are far and away the best surround speakers I've ever owned and complete my Polk Audio surrond system with RTi 10s front and a CSI A6 center. I couldn't be happier with the clear and open sounding sound stage that results. Very impressive..."

"On Thursday, 18 March I ordered 4 surrond sound speakers from High Decibels (Safe & Sound). Their prices beat all others I could located on the internet and in local stores, by a wide margin. On Saturday, one of the owners himself called to let me know 1 speaker was on back order and explained my options. I chose to cancel that speaker and they credited my account right away. The rest of the order was shipped and delivered on the promised days. The shipment (3 heavy boxes) were in perfect condition upon receipt (thanks UPS). I would not hesitate to purchase from this vendor again."
