For some stupid reason I didn't read these reviews before I ordered my prom dress from HeleneBridal.
I ordered it on March 19th and it is now April 19th (my prom is in 3 days) and I have yet to get a reply to any on the numerous emails I've sent. I call and the line is "busy".
Judging by the reviews here I should not expect a refund of any sort and their service is VERY disappointing.
The site is too good to be true. I wasted $204.11 on what could be a gorgeous dress and I'm left scrambling to find one at the last minute."
"Do not order from this company!!! I ordered my wedding dress from them in what i thought was plenty of time before my wedding. 2 weeks after the expected delivery date, I started asking questions. You cant ever get anyone on the phone, only email. And even then their responses take days. They said my dress had been shipped and signed for, but when I looked on the delivery company's website, it said no signature was required. So now no one knows where this dress is and no seems to care. I am scrambling days before my wedding to find a new dress and im out my money. Helene Bridal has also stopped returning my emails. "Do not Order from this company!!!!!!!! They are terrible scam artists. My "dress" arrived today and it is awful, it is poorly made, tiny in the top, missing the boning.
I went on online chat and their return policy says:
We do have 7 days money back guarantee for standard size order. If you are not satisfy with the quality and dress not fit for you.
I said I wasn't satisfied and they were slow to respond and basically said they won't take it back without pictures and even when I send pictures they will probably say that there is nothing wrong with it and I won't get my money back.
They are a bunch of thieves and as someone else said, "don't waste your time or tears, go local" I agree. Will not be going online to order again, and at this point, I feel like just getting married in jeans, at least the stitching will hold together for the day.
I have filed a complaint with the internet fraud people and about to file one with the better buisness bureau. I encourage all of you to do the same, let's stop these scam artists before they ruin someone else's big day!!!!"

I ordered my wedding dress, being a trusting person of paypal, I made my payment through them. The dress came extremely defective- 60 inches in the hips (I'm a 36) and 7 inches too short, also the body of the dress (should be corset finishing on my hips as a dropped waist) was dangling past my bum. It was awful. I attempted to reconcile with "Victoria" and sent her the pictures she requested that very clearly demonstrated the problem. I was very respectful with all of my emails.
She then told me it should be that big in the hips, measurements are only a guideline and it shouldn't be tight anyway (it's a CORSET! which should be tight) then she admitted they didn't add in my heel height that I had declared to them (7 inches) and they only made my dress according to head to toe height. She refused to refund me. I contacted paypal and launched a dispute under the option "item received was significantly different than described" and they told me they closed my claim because I received the shipment and they only issue refunds on items not received. How is that possible when there is a dispute option for items received being significantly different than described?
DO NOT waste your time and money on the huge gamble of Helene Bridal .com. I am now forced to shovel out another bundle of cash, probably double what I lost on the Helene Bridal gamble, to have a local dress maker recreate my unalterable TOO short and VERY wide dress.
GO LOCAL FIRST and save your tears and hard earned money "

"My dress was great!! I ordered my wedding dress from Helene Bridal because it was my second wedding and the last thing I wanted was a white dress and offwhite & champagne didn't excite me either. I went with Helene Bridal because the designs looked great, I found just what I wanted and I could have the dress in any color I wanted. I chose the sage in chiffon and had purple beading! They didn't miss a beat on the colors or special requests. My dress arrived a month early so there was no worry about if I would have it. Because of the way it was shipped I had to have it steamed at the cleaners but that is the only hitch. I am sorry that those others had a bad experience but my wedding day was a fairy tale and I got so many compliments on my beautiful gown. I am putting my review up here for others like me: I didn't check the reviews of the company until after I ordered and got very scared that I would have a bad experience. When the dress came in and was great I made sure to put up a review because I am sure that the others that had good experiences just didn't bother because thay got what they asked for, it is when we don't that we complain. The prices are low and the dress was great!"

I bought 4 bridesmaids dresses last April. I ordered the four dresses on the 19th of April. I am still waiting for the 4th dress and they told me that they will not give me a refund!
The second dress was 4 SIZES TOO SMALL and they refused to refund me without photographic evidence.
The third dress was made with exact measurements and was completely too small at the bust and at the waste. they refused to refund me without photographic evidence so I sent on photographs and they said that these were still not enough so they once again asked for photographs!
so two dresses were the wrong size (and the material is the cheapest quality) which the 3rd dress out of 4 is over 2 months late and they say it will be another month now which will be too late for my wedding.

On May 17th 2010 I ordered a bridal dress through Helene Bridal located in China. The dress arrived over a month later and looked VERY little like it was advertised. The quality was EXTREMELY poor and after weeks of failed attempts to return the dress for a refund, I have resorted to filing this complaint along with complaints to other government agencies such as FTC.gov and EConsumer.gov which I found through the Better Business Bureau's website. I also took the advice posted in an earlier comment by filing a complaint with another government agency, Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3.gov). I have since learned that there are COUNTLESS other complaints being made in regards to this company! Someone even dedicated a Facebook page to discuss their bad experience with Helene Bridal China? By the way, "Victoria" is the contact person's name at Helene Bridal China. I see that some of you have been dealing with her as well.
This company's actions are especially egregious because consumers who are purchasing from them are making their purchases for their "Special Day" as in Prom, Wedding, or Bridesmaid attire. Consumers like me are receiving their merchandise in poor quality condition, wrong color or size, and other unacceptable conditions and are forced out of additional money to get the situation remedied; if it can be.
I placed this order through PayPal on May 17 2010. Cost: $225.00 US Dollars. It was shipped to me via DHL and received on June 21 2010. I contacted the company IMMEDIATELY and was IMMEDIATELY met with resistance when asking for a refund. They have requested that I send them photos to attest to the quality that I deem poor. When I told them I do not have access to upload photos, Victoria stated - and I quote, "
well,dear,no pictures mean no problems with the dress.so,if you want to resolve this as soon as possible,you need to find a way to send us pictures. our factory need to confirm the problem first. thanks for your cooperation. --Your honestly Victoria"
