"Hecht's web site had a promotion claiming that any items purchased before a certain date would be delivered for Christmas. There was a phone I wanted to purchase and have delivered as a gift, so I went ahead and placed the order.

I was not sent a delivery confirmation e-mail at any point. Concerned that I hadn't heard back on the order during the run-up to Christmas, I called customer service, who told me the item was shipped via UPS. I was given a UPS tracking number. My credit card had been charged as well.

A couple days pass after Christmas, however, and the phone did not arrive. I entered the number in UPS's tracking system only to find out that the number was never used. Another call to the Hecht's customer service put me into a runaround with one of their local stores from which the phone was supposedly shipped. I finally found out that the phone never shipped AT ALL, despite my card being charged. I immediately asked for a full refund, which thankfully was given.

Do NOT do business with Hecht's; apparently they have no modern inventory system, something which companies who sell over the Internet should have, and they have a shipping system which is shoddy at best. I'm taking my money elsewhere.
