"At the end of this years Triathlon season I debated on purchasing a new road bike. Jerry really listened to my needs and concerns and gave me direction. His knowledge of the bike components and the patience he had in determining what level I really required, made the whole purchasing process worry free. "I want to say that I was very nervous buying from this place on FRIDAY THE 13TH and after reading some of the bad reviews, but I know it's impossible to please everyone in the world and I'm pretty easy going and these guys did have great prices. I bought a very high end GT Mountain Bike and wanted the 08 because it was a great price, then I got an email the following week and they couldn't get my size, so get this! They upgraded me to the 09 model which retails for almost $150 higher for no more money! When I got the bike, I was so stoked...it was awesome, packaged very well and the dude Mark who helped me on the live chat was cool and very knowledable. If you want a great bike at a great price, then go here! "

"Ordered a bike trainer on October 1st. I recieved a confirmation email and they charged my credit card, but never received anything. After more than two weeks of no responses to my emails or phone messages, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get the charges reversed."

"I purchased a high end bike rack, Saris T-Rax 512 Sport 1-1/4, at a considerable savings from Harbor County Bike. I used Google checkout, and was sent an email from Google that the item had shipped on May 17. When I was unable to track the package after a couple of days, I called Harbor Cty directly. Google checkout was new to the associate I spoke with, but she was pleasant, and was quickly able to assist me in locating the order. She let me know that the rack would ship the following day, which it did. I received a UPS track number and the package arrived on 5/23. The rack was exactly what I ordered, and I was happy with Harbor County's service."

"I ordered a front fork for my bicycle through their shop on Amazon. They had a decent price ($200), shipped in a reasonable time, and had good packaging.

The problem came when I decided to return the part. First, they didn't respond to email, even though that is listed as the primary contact. That tells me they're not very online savvy.

Next, their restocking fee is - get this 25%. That means even after I pay for return shipping, I'm paying them *$50* to put it back on the shelf.

That fee is 3 to 5 times higher anything I've ever had to pay before. I don't know why they'd have to charge so much, considering places with a far higher online presence - who would be impacted far more by returns.

So, if you're absolutely sure what you want, and won't return it, then you're fine. If you buy online and return something, though, you'll take a huge hit.
