"Canon SD1100 Purchase

Much of the same experience as others. Saw fantastic price and placed order. After few days realized that i have to call to confirm order. What??? Never had to do that before. Started second-guessing them. Called to confirm. Said i need battery and charger for minimum of $60 more for camera to work. Politely said no, but was hard to move on to next topic. Which was of course the warranty. He let me go quickly on that one since he knew he wouldn't be able to sell me on it. Said it would ship immediately because it was right in front of him. Went to website 5min later and it said the status was backordered. What??? He said it would ship immediately! Immediately got that warm fuzzy feeling like when climbing the rope in gym class. Read the reviews on this website which confirmed everything that had already happened.

I then immediately called back and cancelled the order. No questions asked. Within 1min, the website showed the cancelled status. Well, at least their online order status is working properly.

Will be watching my credit card.

For purchases via this website, proceed with caution.

"I wanted to buy a Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS from this company.

In the morning of Sept. 3, 2008, I called HDCameraWorld and asked whether the Garmin 760 unit is in stock, because I wanted to have it by Friday of the same week. Joe told me it was in stock and asked me to place the order on-line and call him back at extension 229#. I did as he asked and received an email confirming my order. When I called back Joe told me the package was right in front of him, he was going to ship it immediately and I will certainly have it by Friday. He then started a lengthy discussion where he was trying to sell me a 3-yr warranty (first for about $99 and than he offered it at about $69). I declined whereupon he tried to sell me the current maps, because the unit came with 2005 maps. I told him I already have the 2009 Garmin maps disk and didn't need to buy it; in addition, Garmin is providing up-to date maps for free for any purchase made at this time. After all this Joe stopped pushing and assured me I'll have the unit by Friday Sept. 5 (I did pay for 2-day air shipping).

Today, Sept. 4, 2008, I checked their website and my order showed as "processing." I called Joe to find out what's going on and, to my dismay, he stated he no longer had the unit because he sold it to a "better buyer" and all he could offer is a unit with 2009 maps for $369. I asked that he deliver on his confirmation of the purchase cost and shipping of the unit as originally agreed upon. Joe’s response was that he will cancel the order and he hung up.

Looks like I'll have to rent a GPS for my trip!

"These guys are a complete scam. DO NOT even waste your time with their "low" prices. I ordered a casio exslim s10 at a great price but when I called to confirm my order (this took 2 attempts at 25min each) I was told that the camera did not come with a battery, charger, or any of the parts essential to its use. These ripoff artists essentially take apart the camera you would expect to get from the manufacturer and sell it back to you in little pieces which actually costs several times more than just driving to your local store to make the purchase."

"I ordered a Fuji camera on 8/13 and immediately received email confirmation asking me to call to confirm my order. I did and the salesman then tried to tell me the batteries that come with the camera can't be used and I needed to buy NiMH batteries or the camera won't work. I insisted that I did NOT need to buy the batteries so he tried to sell me an overpriced warranty but would not tell me where I could read the terms and conditions of the warranty before purchasing so I declined. He said the camera would be shipped immediately. Today - 6 days later - when I called for a status, same guys says "I'm getting ready to ship it now, but you forgot to buy the batteries"! Go through this again, THEN he asks me why I didn't buy the US model which he can sell me for $349 (instead of the $189 listed on the website) and won't tell me where on the website it says anything about the camera I'm ordering being a foreign model without a manufacturers warranty, just that it "clearly states this in HIS policy" and won't tell me where that is either. I told him to cancel the order. I'm beginning to doubt these people even have any cameras to ship! "

"I wish I'd read the reviews before I placed the order. Unlike any other online order, I received an email telling me I had to call to confirm the order. I called four times. The first three times I was on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up. The fourth time, at 29 minutes, I got a live person. This individual spoke so softly I had difficulty hearing him, when I asked him to speak up, he said it was a problem with my phone. Then he proceeded to try and sell me an expensive (and unnecessary battery), a "high speed" memory card for 4 times the price of the memory card I did order, and then finally a warrantee package. Politely responding no than you to every attempt to sell resulted in rude comments that I was not going to be able to use the camera without a replacement battery, the memory card was the wrong card, and everyone should buy a warantee. I got off the phone feeling very unhappy with the entire conversation and the purchase. That led me to look for and read reviews. I cancelled my order posthaste and will monitor my credit card."

"I ordered canon Fs10 camcorder from the site. The reason I did was it was one of the lowest price in internet( $260). The site had a US contact address a some five star rating self proclaimed in its site. I got a mail to contact a phone number ***-***-**** to confirm the order. When I contacted the number I was told I would have to pay extra $120 for the battery and charger. I refused payment stating I would go by the base package and confirmed order for the same. The order status in the site when I logged in to my account continued to be in "order processing" state itself. I once again contacted the customer service they said the item is out of stock and needs to be backordered - the same was not told when I confirmed my order. However the amount had not yet been charged to my card and they agreed to cancel the order.

"I wanted a Lumix FZ18K digital camera and was really excited to find it advertised on the internet at more than $100 less than anyone else. It was EXACTLY what I wanted (factory sealed with all accessories included, full warranty, etc.) My usual good grasp of common sense left me in all the excitement. (If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.) I bought it online. I immediately got the email asking me to call to verify my purchase. The rep wanted my 3 digit crdit card security number. I gave it to him but I started to smell a rat. When I called the rep tried to sell me a long life NiMH (!) battery and charger. No modern camera uses that kind of battery. I was told that the camera could-in a pinch-use alkaline batteries. I turned down the offer of a battery. I also turned down the offer of a way overpriced extended warranty. The rep said OK and would send out the camera right away. Over the next two days I grew increasingly concerned about my purchase. I scoured the internet looking other offers as good as the one I fell for. Couldn't find any. Went to resellerratings.com and discovered the awful truth. I had been keeping track of charges to my credit card and there hadn't been any. I decided I had to get out of this arrangement before I got ionto real trouble. I called my credit card compny and cancelled my card. I felt much better straight away."

"Wow! Should have checked out this site before I ordered. I have had the exact same experience just moments ago. Please contact your credit card company!!
Called to find out why order did not show as shipped. Sold a warranty upgrade for $50 and a map upgrade for $70. Checked out my order after confirmation and was charged $50 more. Called back. Map upgrade was $100 not the originally quoted $70. Their explanation was that there had been a pricing update since my call 20min earlier. I asked them to drop the maps. That left a $20 discrepency. They explained that the Garmin Nuvi I ordered had a pricing increase since my original order. I explained that I had a copy of the original order and would they take it as confirmation of pricing. I was told they had all records and that their updated pricing was correct.
My concern is that the 1st thing asked for was the credit card confirmation number. The sales pitch happens next and the order is confirmed and shipped before you hang up. The fact that they would not honor their original pricing and the shady way that they handled my order makes me concerned that these may be some sort of scam. I'd suggest watching your credit card. Remember: To get the item shipped, you gave them your authorization/credit card number over the phone to a person.
Beware!

"Ordered a Garmin Nuvi 250W because they offered a good price. Got back a confirmation email saying, "Call to confirm your order." Since I had given credit card information, I didn't think that was necessary. However, they called me that afternoon, so when I got the message, I returned the call. Salesman insisted I buy extras. (At first it was camera battery, but he picked up on my puzzlement about why I needed a camera battery and looked at the order. Then he switched to map upgrade.) I knew this was a relatively new Garmin unit and shouldn't yet need a map upgrade, and upgrades are really most important for points-of-interest, which is a trivial matter to me. I told him I didn't want a map upgrade, just to ship the item as is. He wouldn't let it alone. When he finally took a breath, I repeated that I wanted him to ship as is, then hung up on him. Two weeks went past. I didn't get any email with shipping information and they didn't charge my card. I cancelled the order and bought elsewhere. They advertise a low price for merchandise, but I don't believe they have any intention of shipping unless you order pricey extras."

"ordered fuji camera from them on 7-14

had heard nothing from them so called them on 7-25
they then told me item was backordered and being shipped from overseas, would take 3-4 weeks to get here.

i asked where they were located, the man said Canada and asked if I wanted to drive up to pick up the item. I explained no one told me item was backordered , and their website states orders can ship within a day.. told him how unacceptable I found what they were doing, he asked me if I wanted to add another camera on to the order.

Avoid this merchant.

"Now that I read the other review, I understand I'll just be saying the same thing: I only wish I read them before I placed this order. These guys are crooks: they advertise a Garmin 680 for a great price, after taking your credit card they send you a confirmation email that tells you to confirm it with them, and THEN you find out that this unit supposedly has no battery, no maps, etc. -- basically it's the not the Nuvi 680 you thought you were buying that has all you need in it. They claim that's why it's so cheap -- and so they try to get you to add what you would have gotten had you bought the 680 anywhere else. Fraud! I immediately canceled (on the phone with the guy), hopefully I will not have to escalate this to my credit card company."

""DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CROOKS"
After calling them to confirm my order, I was bombarded with sales ranging from extended warranty to cases.I did not need any of these items and was told my camera would be here in 5-7 days.I called them tonight, 3 weeks later & was asked if I wanted to buy batteries with my camera. After saying no, I was informed the camera was no longer in stock & they would refund my money. After 3 weeks of no emails, or phone calls or anything from them about this. These "CROOKS" should be shut down & not be allowed on the net ever again.

"These people are CROOKS!!!!! Do not buy anything from them. They also go by other names like The Camera Pros. I ordered a Pioneer Avic z3 and a $400.00 Warranty. To make a long story short-The person I was dealing with ELI at Ext 203-kept giving me the run a round. I had to call 4 times in order to get the invoice-then when I finally received it the warranty was wrong and it was all in a bundles price. When I called and emailed several times following the invoice, about 3-4 times that day and the follwing day to cancel the order, Eli told me I couldn't because it already shipped. I knew it had OT shipped. He refused to cancel the order and shipped it anyway. He then told me to just refuse the package and he would bill me a minimum of 15% restocking fee. Now remember, I cancelled the order 3 different times with emails and telephone calls, all knowing it had not shipped yet. When I received the tracking number from UPS, I was right when I read that it didn't ship out until the day AFTER i had cancelled 4 times. I refused the package when it arrived and prior to it ever shipping out I called my credit card company to dispute the charge. They received the package on July 3, 2008 and as of today, July 8, 2008 I still don't have any refund. THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!!!! Please don't buy from them because the price looks good-it's not worth the savings for what they put you through and lie to you about the sale. Thankfully I used my credit card and they have a great freud department. These people at this time have the 1454.98 and the Avic z3 along with the warranty. LESSON LEARNED!!!!!!!!!!

"Ordered a Garmin Nuvi 760 and stated I needed to call them to confirm the order. Told me that my Garmin had maps from 2005 and that should upgrade to 2008. I told them I thought you could do this for free and they told me you needed to order them. Also, tried to upsell me on Warranty. After coming across this site, I now know that I should not have ordered from them. Do Not order from them!"

"HD Camera World is an unscrupulous organization that cheats its customers. I placed my Canon camera order through the company's web site and received a confirmation message asking me to call their number to confirm the order. I was placed on hold and was obliged to wait a very long time before a salesperson responded. The salesperson attempted to sell me additional equipment, including a Canon battery, which was not included in the price quoted online. When I protested, he offered various lower prices and component packages. When I attempted to cancel the order, he said that the company would charge my credit card 50 per-cent of the order to cancel. When he summarized the order, he included an additional charge for insurance that I had not ordered and that was not mentioned on the web site. He also added the final total incorrectly in the company's favor.

The shipment arrived missing a necessary multimedia card. The battery and battery charger sent are cheap generic products, not Canon. The Canon camera uses four standard AA batteries. My letter to the company has not been answered. I will never do business with this company again.
