The worst experience ever!!

"The Worst of the Worst online customer service I have ever encountered .It was my first purchase with the Bay as well.In a nutshell they cancelled my order which I had purchased in my cart a week ago. All showing in stock and delivery date and all. It was a Dyson V8 animal vacuum on sale for for 399.99.$200.00 off. They had my credit card authorized and all. Then right out of the nowhere they cancelled my order saying it was out of stock. One of the customer service reps emailed me and told that there was still 262 units in stock and I could go back to the site and order it again. But online at their website was still showing out of stock and still is now as I write this review. In my experience with the BAY the whole company and employees they have working for them wouldn't be able to organize a two car parade!!!!"

Terrible customer service, cut up my HBC card

"I have purchased a lot online at HBC, about $8,000 this year and have a VIP level rewards card. I can deal with the annoyance of orders being cancelled due to lack of stock (frequent), however I received a gift card from family with gift card receipt showing balance. Tried applying it to an order and error says zero balance, after spending over an hour on the phone with terrible service rep who kept insisting it had been used when it hadn’t. I finally insisted on talking to a supervisor who told me that the website named it used when it hadn’t, and she reloaded it. So inept.

Also the last 2 online orders they forgot to remove the security tags before shipping. Emailed about this and was told a $20 voucher would be sent for the inconvenience but of course it never was.

So done. I cut up my HBC card. This is why amazon (best service people every time!) are taking over the word.

Smackdown and false advertising

Iam not a big fan of this big brand store however does one off shopping with them in once a while .... i just bought a nespresso coffee machine using their website ... i didnt know the financials of this company and their customer service for after sales was this ridiculous ......
while i was looking for a best deals for nespresso online they must have gotten my info and gave an online teaser ad for a $10 off if i make a purchase and subscribe for their online newsletter... i did and i completed my my purchase using a store gift card with the value of 250... when i used card online they show me that value as well an i could not find a spot where it was showing me the discunt of $10 as they marketed for an online newsletter subscription... i still completed my transaction thinking they will have it adjusted as they ship item.. later i realised that they used only $239 out of $250 and no credits for $10.. and charged the remaining in my Credit card ... they must have done it knowingly as leaving tht $10 IN THE CARD THEY CAN HAVE MY BUSINESS FOR SECOND TIME ...

i called their customer service and ask for resolution and update the value and charge the remaining but their C/s denied to apply any adjustemnts as the shippment is already done .. i told them ill return the product as my legal right for the first 15 days which is gonna be their otal loss still they were not able to resolve ... now i have decided to drag them to ontario consumers right protection agency for mishandling my payment and for thier rediculous offers and scam .

Hudson's Bay MasterCard provided by Capital One

"One word: WORSE!

First I normally don't go online to write these kinds of reviews but in this case, i feel oblige to do so because they have been so bad in terms of resolving issue and customer service. They double charged me on my credit card. They have the audacity to deny it. After 10 customer service calls. Being passed around left and right, still did not fix the issues, most horrific experience ever. Their customer service is clearly outsourced to save on cost as they can't seem to comprehend my question.

Don't sign up, most horrible customer service experience ever and they don't seem to own up to their faults.

The bay.com ruins Christmas

"I ordered my father’s Christmas gifts from the Bay online with the expectation it would be delivered before Christmas.
The Bay promised delivery by Dec 24th if you ordered by Friday December 20th by 11:59pm. I placed the order Friday afternoon and shortly after got an email confirming only 1 of the 2 items was being prepared to ship so I called their customer service to find out what was happening. I was on the phone 3 days in a row trying to get confirmation that the items were shipped and that I would have them by Christmas. The customer service staff told me the order would arrive by the 24th so I then checked Canada post to see Dec 27th instead. It’s obvious to me that the customer service staff are not properly trained and therefore cannot effectively do their jobs. They were dumbfounded when I asked them to confirm my order. I even spoke to a ‘manager’ who also confirmed a Christmas Eve delivery. To add insult to injury they sent me a $10 gift card as if that would make up for ruining my dad’s gift!!

My advice is to never shop at the Bay. Do NOT trust the Bay!!

It’s now December 27th and I’m still waiting!!

No Christmas for my family!

"Very disappointed in Hudson’s Bay! After making an online order on November 12th for 163.84, being charged for it but never receiving it, I have called customer service at least 10 times! My order was paid through Interac, so The Bay took my money in one minute but has taken more than 21 business days to credit me and i’m STILL waiting! Customer service is not helpful at all, always putting you on hold and never actually solving the problem, just telling you to call back in a few days. Thank you Hudson’s Bay for ruining Christmas for my family, seeing that I am a single parent with two children. That money could have out food on our table instead of being **** for more than a month. I will not be shopping or recommending The Bay to anyone I know. "

IF THEY SAY IT'S CANADIAN MADE, IT'S NOT!

"I bought a sofa from the Bay this year - all product details online indicate that it is made in Canada. When my sofa was delivered, it was clear it wasn't the same quality as the floor model. It's been two months and all you can feel is the frame of the couch. You can't even lay on it! After contacting customer service, they sent a technician to come take a look at which time he found a 'made in china' tag on the bottom. I have contacted a number of departments the Bay to get info on where it's made and they are still telling me it's made in Canada.. When discussing further with the case manager working through the issue, he did confirm that this brand comes from a Chinese manufacturer.

DO NOT PURCHASE the Distinctly Home collection!

Worst experience: do not order online and expect a delivery

"There is no point ordering anything online from Hudson Bay. The items will either be left on your doorstep with no prior notice (I live on a main road so it was obviously gone when I got home) the items will be cancelled due to no stock, or they will take far longer than is normal for delivery. Customer service representatives leave a lot to be desired and simply pass you on to someone else with no context for the next person.

Highly frustrating experience. Honestly, I'll never shop here again.

Beyong Horrible experience

"Ordered a bed. Was never given an expected delivery date. It was shipped in three shipments. There was zero communication in response to my enquiries and online Customer Service forms. Pathetic. Nobody got back to me. I had to call again and again. It caused so much stress. Third part of the order was finally delivered - but again not on the date it was supposed to, Will never order from HBC again. "

False online sales

"Had the worst experience as I tried to purchase Xmas gifts for family. Ordered on cyber Monday. I waited 8 days and now I am finally sent a email that my order has been cancelled. The products they advertised online showed items were in stock. So why cancel it ? I have sent countless emails , all I receive are case numbers . No replies and when I call their customer service , I am sent offshore dealing with people who really don’t care. This is the worst company to buy from. I am surprised they are still in business. Avoid buying from them. Especially do not buy online !! "

False Advertising on a Free Product- Beware

"Hi, I am very disappointed. I purchased an item online and it had a promo attached that if I spend 100 + I would get an item for free and discount on the item would appear in the cart. I noticed when I added the Free item when I went to check out was not coming off the purchase amount, and I called customer service and they assured me I would only be charged 149.12 and not be charged for the free item. So I went ahead and made the purchase online and I was charged the total amount for the free item on check out.
I called the next day to talk to customer service and they said they were sorry, that there was an error on the computer and I now have to wait 21 business days (1 month) for my refund. so now I have to pay the interest on that amount.
I am NO longer making any more online orders with The BAY, so buyer beware.... they offer fraudulent information on your purchases....

Online Order

"Ordered a bookshelf online. It shipped ten days later, but could not track it. Three weeks later, not arrived and still cannot track it. I emailed customer service and online it says you should hear back within 48 hours...no such luck, as they never got back to me. I call customer service and eventually I get someone on the line. English is a bit broken and I am not sure if they understand my problem. They say the item is on the way. Turns out that's a lie and they just want me off the phone. A week later, still no bookshelf. I call and email again, and now I finally get an online response that says item is lost in transit and do I want a refund or replacement. Stupid me, I say replacement and ten days later still no communication or bookshelf. I call again to get a refund. One customer service person gets confused about the refund and just hangs up on me. I call again and this new person I speak to is rude and says my refund will be processed within 21 days. So far I have no confirmation that this is happening, so I expect there is another phone call and a few more emails on my part to eventually get this refund. What a terrible two month experience. In a world shifting to online purchases how could you miss the mark so badly? Very disappointed and after thousands of dollars of shopping there, this one experience of incompetence and poor customer service has pushed me to stop shopping at The Bay, as they clearly do not value customers."

Soon to be only 1 choice of department store

"December 3, 2019 was senior's discount at the The Bay. I took my 81 year old mother to do some Christmas Shopping. We attended the store located at Barrie, Ontario. The store had a lot of seniors in winter coats trying to shop. I say "trying" as also in my mothers case there were no carts, no tote baskets. We were offered a large basket with two big handles and velcro edges that hooked into mechandize and my clothing. I say my clothing has there was no way a senior could carry this huge basket with items. To say nothing of were you would place your coat while shopping. Approximately 20 minutes in I was exhausted, my mom was frustrated and tired and wanted just to leave. We went to the check out, I told the ladies my fustratation and they offer the opporturnity to speak with the manager. I said; no its ok, and took my mom back to the car. I could clearly see my mother's disappointment. Minutes later, I decided to return to the store to speak with the manager. The sales ladies had her come speak with me she was lovely and very empatic to my complaints. I am writing this in support of staff and management at The Bay Store as well as the future of the Bay Stores. If your going to offer Senior Shopping/Shopping please provide carts so people can shop comfortably and purchase more then one item. A lot of wonderful department stores have come and gone our choices are very limited. If you don't make an effort to service your clientele it won't be long before we are down to one choice."

Hudson's Bay has the worst customer services and worst shopping experience in Hudson's Bay!

"I received the birthday saving card which is over $50 purchase get $10 off, and I wanted to use it in the bay for my birthday gift today. When I at the cashier counter, they told me I can't use it to combine with other offers because I didn't print this offer, which this explanation doesn't make sense at all. Also, the attitude of the cashier was terrible, she told me either using one of the discounts or not buying them at all. Cashier and her manager gave me those impatient and bad facial expressions and she told me she doesn't care about my birthday and my shopping experience. I would never shop in Hudson's Bay anymore and I have no idea why would I go to Hudson's Bay on my birthday at let those sales associates and managers give me a harsh time. I strongly recommend do not go to Hudson's Bay in Oakridge Center if you live in Vancouver BC, It is the worst ever!"
