"I dont get why other people have so many problems from this site. I ordered R.U.S.E and Fallout GOTY, both used, for $50 including shipping. This is a super cheap deal. I got my game in 6 days and I live in Hawaii. I love this website and would recommend my friends getting used games from there."

"This place sold me a used, broken, lamp that is worthless. The item was sent in a taped together box with holes in it. The lamp does not work at all. The lamp had a "try me" sticker on the front of it so it was an obvious demo model for some store. It was advertised as new.
No response from the company or fro Amazon.com from where the purchase was made.

"They canceled my order via email several hours after I had already received an order confirmation email! They claim they had several orders at the same time as mine and now did not have any more available. (The website tonight still shows some available). I am very disappointed with this company and will not order from them again!

I had even called customer service after receiving the order confirmation email to verify my order (as I had not used this site before and the description of the product on my email was slightly different then advertised). I was assured I had ordered the product I thought I chose and they made no mention of not having any available.

I called customer service again to ask about the cancellation and the representative said nowhere on the website did it say they guaranteed that anything was in stock. FINE, but say that it is out of stock if it truly is before they let you buy it! I should have known as no one else was selling the wii game for the same price. I don't believe anything they say from reading all the similar complaints. I doubt they actually sell anything as cheaply as they advertise! I had chosen this over placing an order on amazon and will not make that mistake again!

"Order placed on 12/10 on 12/14 order was still in "process" Called customer service to inquire about order. Was told transaction was never completed. Was told they would complete transaction over phone, I said I wanted to cancel as you haven't even placed my order yet. I was disconnected. On 12/15, I received email order shipped. On 12/16, I found an opened box on my porch. I will drop box off at Kinkos tomorrow (as it was shipped FedEx). Buyers beware! "

"They shipped my order regular USPS and when i contacted them because i had not received it. They told me to take it up with the post office.. just horrible customer service and get ready to wait a long time to speak to a person it toke me over 25 minutes on hold to speak to someone.. just a garbage company.."

"I ordered Dante's Inferno for PS3. It was in stock when I placed the order. I got a confirmation email. A few hours later I checked the order and it had been canceled. Not long after, I received an email confirming the status.

I immediately sent an email asking why it was canceled. I got an automated response. It has been 8 days and still no real response.

I called their customer service department. I was on hold for 16 minutes before my call was dropped. I called back, but once again the call just died after 16 minutes. I have been very patient.

This retailer is absolutely horrible. The customer service is probably the worst I have ever dealt with. I will take my business elsewhere, even if I have to pay more.

"This is the first and only time I will purchase from GoHastings. I had purchased the 20th Anniversary Star Trek Next Generation boxed set, and the DVD set was sent in a shoddy box without any regard for proper mail shipment packaging. Several of the DVD cases are cracked and chipped, and the item can no longer be offered as a gift.

I sent GoHastings an e-mail four days ago expressing my dissatisfaction with the product in the condition received, and although I was sent an automated e-mail stating that Customer Support is delayed due to the holiday season, will be surprised if I ever hear back from them.

Poor packaging, poor service.

"I placed two orders 11/26/10 on goHastings.com. Shorty after, I received cancellation notices for the following reason:

"The following item(s) have been cancelled. Either the item(s) were cancelled at
your request or our sources were unable to ship the item(s) due to availability.
You will not be charged for any cancelled items. We apologize for any inconvenience."

What is interesting to note, is that today (11/27), both items are in stock on the website and available for purchase. While I understand the variances in stock inventory may exist, this scenario has been described over and over here and has made me question goHastings selling practices. I will definitely think twice about purchasing here in the future.

EDIT 12/12/2010 - So I decided to give gohastings another go and ordered a Wii game. Unfortunately, 3 hours after I ordered I received a cancellation email due to product availability.

"I ordered from this company's site, confirmed that they had stock and that the Kinect would ship when released. *This made me cancel my existing order with Gamestop.* I received an email this morning indicating that "Either the item(s) were cancelled at your request or our services were unable to ship the item(s) due to availability." This after being told everything was fine twice over the phone. Interestingly, even when this was confirmed, the two reps with whom I spoke were never able to confirm from what location the packages would originate. I was told "it should come from one of our stores, perhaps in the Midwest."

I called and spoke with Hastings, and they informed me that Microsoft had fallen through on a promise to deliver a certain amount of units, and that Hastings did not even know if Microsoft ever would provide enough. She further told me "we filled what we could, and then cancelled the rest because of [Microsoft]."

I let her know that the email sent was short, and perhaps not telling the full story. I informed her that customers with money to spend might be more inclined to do business with a company that is open and forthcoming in its communications. Her response? "These are all done electronically, we have no control over our communications with customers." I reminded her that at some level, emails are written by humans with the capacity to make decisions. Naturally this was met with, "I'm sure they are, anything else?"

This is the type of "company" you might end up doing "business" with. Stay away at all costs, this is anti-capitalist, anti-consumerist profiteering at its best. Avoid this company.

"This place is unreliable. They have some pretty good prices, but who cares if they only carry vapor-ware. They make no commitments on order fulfillment and they are rude and don't care if you call to find out why. I placed my order for a Kinect for $130. My credit card was charged so I figured everything was good. Not so, two days later they cancelled my order. I had already bought 3 connect games so I called and asked why. They said they over-committed. Fine, if your goal is to run a legitimate business, credit the charge and put the item on backorder or do something else to make up for your mistake. Don't just screw your customers and tell them oh well, our ability to track our orders against inventory stinks, but that's OK because it is your problem, not ours. I will NEVER put my faith in this fly by night operation and order something again. If I buy a lotto ticket, at least I know up front there is a good chance I won't get what I'm paying for. Stick with legit businesses like Amazon, they won't leave you at the alter with a dear John email. "
