Same story as everyone else. DO NOT USE THEM

"Put through to them - how was my call hijacked. I checked it was who I thought and they said was them. I have read this over and over. $407 per night but $1087 after fees and taxes. What a con. Booked directly with the company for $884. Don't touch with a bargepole!"

Scam scam scam

"If I could give this business zero stars I would. I went to Ramada Inns website today and when I called the number on the website, I was somehow directed to this company. They did NOT identify themselves as Getaroom.com and they also confirmed that I was calling the reservations department for the Ramada Inn located in Frisco, Colorado. For one, why would you not identify yourself as a third party company? And two, why be sneaky and try to make more money off of another business? Once we got to the hotel they asked that we pay again even though this company already took $340 from my credit card. AND they also charged an additional $100 plus for just their own fees. The Ramada Inn only charged us $240. Long story short, the hotel contacted this bogus company for us and asked that we be given a full refund. Supposedly Getaroom.com agreed to refund me my money, but I’ll believe it when I see it."

Look at all the 1 star reviews, same story, same scammy behavior.

"Wife booked a hotel, was quoted $85/night. NO indication that these leeches were going to tack on a bogus $100.02 "taxes and fees" charge. When contacted, they said "you booked it" and refused to do anything reasonable. Yeah, that's a nice "markup" for basically doing NOTHING. From their reviews this is one company NEVER to do business with. I've booked with major sites many times, no "surprises". Never heard of these jokers, you do biz with them at your risk apparently. Confirmed with hotel that $85 rate is their regular rate.... GetARoom refuses to refund the scam charges. AVOID THIS SITE!!!!"

BEWARE

"Horrible service. Stole nearly $400 from me. Claimed that their agreed upon rate with the hotel was much higher than the actual hotel rate. Offered a measly 10% refund, which is about $100. Never using this website again."

Keeping money during a pandemic.

"I book the Hilton at Universal Studios for March 16 for 2 nights. I thought I was booking from the Hilton. When I called on March 13 to cancel they informed me that I booked with Getaroom. I called them and I was told they would get back with me. California was under lock down on the 16th of March. I can’t believe they think it’s ok to keep my money $800. Is a lot of money. I’m working with my cc company. Hopefully I will get my money back . Please do yourself a favor and don’t book with this company. Before you pay make sure it’s with the right company that you want to book with. "

Horrible Business

"I google for a room in Ely, Nevada at a brand hotel and the room came up with Nevada in bold letters. But I realized after booking that it was in the town of Nevada, Missouri. Not very useful. Then I noticed this was not the hotel website, and they have no provision for mistaken booking cancellation. In fact their policy seems to be absolutely no refund for any reason ever. Their website could not locate my reservation but I found a phone number for them on my credit card web page. I phoned that, spoke with a thickly accented (Caribbean?, Jamaican?) woman, very polite but insistent than I could not cancel with refund. When I insisted she transferred me to a sleepy sounding man who confirmed they don't refund and then transferred me to a 3rd man who also said they would not refund.
Fine. I will cancel the charge at American Express and I promised to write a review, this one.

Worst Company ever

"Honestly, if I could write zero stars I would. They never sent me a confirmation email so I never got a reservation # and they refused to look me up any other way to get the reservation email. The customer service is so awful. This left me unable to cancel a reservation with them as I didn’t have said reservation number in the middle of covid. I contacted the hotel to which they told me they would cancel and I would get a refund as all policies are changed in covid and they would inform the company. Month long battle later and end result I’m out $1500 and given the runabout through all parties with Getaroom.com refusing to even speak to me after I was finally given the reference number from my disputed claim through my credit card company. They are the worst! Never ever ever book through them. "

agreed to the price." After only getting that response I asked her to tell me the additional fees. She said one fee was that there were 2 adults in the room so that was an additional 20.00. Why on earth would there be a fee for 2 adults sleeping in a hotel room with 2 queen beds? Again, she said I agreed to the price. I asked what the remainder of fees were and she said she does not have access to that. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Criminals and fraudulent.

"My experience mirrors everyone else's here, I booked a room in which I thought was directly with the hotel only to find out later when I had to cancel that it through get a room in which they purposely deceived me into booking with them AND jacked the price up. If it wasn't for the pandemic situation, I would have never received a dime back. Took an act of god to get a refund after bashing them on reviews. I got my refund but the fact that they deceive you and try to steal your hard earned cash is disgusting and I've made it a mission to spread this information far and wide. I've filed a complaint with the BBB as everyone else should. The sooner this place is out of business the better! "

Run before you are their next victim

"Awful and very unprofessional!!!! Booked a room and with in an hour tried to cancel it. Called my credit card company and attempted to cancel but will be still charged after disputing it. Horrible rude customer service. Wished I had never, ever made that call!!"

It is a fraud

"I booked a hotel room in Punta Cana. Upon booking I was sure, that I am dealing with hotel site. It appeared though, that it was actually a Getaroom booking site which looked like a hotel site. Upon booking I was charged with additional service and tax costs, which were not mentioned in the system upon booking. I decided to cancel reservation, but Getaroom customs service refused to cancel the booking although the cancellation was made within the agreed time.
This is a complete fraud and money stealing from customers. Avoid using this system at all costs.

Scam. Avoid this site at all costs.

"They pretend to be the hotel that you are booking and offer a good price. Once the booking has been made you find that they have almost doubled the advertised price. It took me a long time to be able to contact the company as they did not send a confirmation Email. When I did contact them they advised me that if I cancelled I would not be reimbursed!!! Shisters BEWARE"
