"They straight refuse to honor their own return policy. Dont bother. Point to the sign & they act like they are stupid & don't know how to read or comprehend english. Worthless. Wouldn't shop there if it were the last store on earth & they paid me. Worst service ever."

"This online merchant is one of a kind. No way to cancel orders once you click the "Place the Order" button. Usually, an order can be cancelled before shipping or processing status. But it's totally different here. My order even disappeared in the "My orders" page after 2 minutes later than I placed the order.

To communicate with them, you have to search through the site to find out the "Help Desk" and send emails there. But they just ignore your emails.

"December 26, 2013. I am providing the email sent to GNC in its entirety.

"This correspondence does not contain an inquiry, but a courtesy notice that I will be placing a negative review online concerning GNC.org and will not be doing business with the company in the future. I have been a GNC customer for many years, but until the last few months I have always shopped at the retail stores. I now live too far away from any retail store, and must place my orders online. Today I attempted to order multiples of an $8.99 product with the "buy one, get one half off" promotion, as well as the "$10 off any purchase of $50 or more" code 22554 promotion. My shopping cart appropriately priced the product bottles at a total of $53.92 until I entered the "22554" code, when my new subtotal equaled $56.44 . I realized the price of the 1/2 off product bottle had risen from $4.49 to $5.12, and at one point even to $5.33 as I changed quantities in an effort to understand the new numbers. I called customer service hoping that the change in price was a computer glitch and not an attempt to take advantage of any lack of notice on my part. During a 20 minute discussion, however, customer service could only state and restate that both promotions could not be used simultaneously, without being able to explain why the second bottle did not revert to the original $8.99 price if that were the case. Either the second bottle should be 1/2 off, or it should be full price...not anywhere in between. I ended the conversation with customer service and ordered a similar product from another company for less money. To my surprise, I received a follow up phone call from the GNC customer service representative who attempted to convince me that the price difference was due to my full purchase amount dropping below the $50 minimum order causing shipping charges to be added. I informed him that my full purchase price of 4 bottles at $8.99 each and 4 bottles at $4.49 equals $53.92 which is in fact more than $50. At no time did the representative offer to credit the $0.63 difference in price for the 4 bottles despite being unable to explain the discrepancy, and notwithstanding my statement that I had found a similar product for less money with another company while on the phone with him. I have concluded that GNC increased the price of the product in the hopes that I as a consumer would either not notice the price difference or decide the extra money was not worth the effort of rectifying. While I do not mind losing money to an honest mistake on the part of the company or one of their representatives, I will lose money before I will allow myself to be purposely cheated, which is my only conclusion in light of no other possibilities posed by the customer representative after two phone conversations of nearly 25 minutes total. I will no longer conduct any business with GNC and will be posting this experience for others to be forewarned. I do not wish for any offers or promotions from your company, but am simply providing the information for your company since I will be providing for those outside of your company."

Update: December 27, 2013. I received a response to my email this morning. "Please accept our sincere apologies for the difficulties you experienced placing an order at our promotional pricing. The details of the $10 off promotion state the following: 'Some exclusions apply, Does not combine with any online only promotions.' As our BOGO is an online only promotion it is not combinable." Following were 3 paragraphs of generic response, none of which explained why the price changed from $4.49 to $5.12 instead of reverting to the full price as would be the case if the offers were not combinable. I requested that the company not contact me again unless the price change could be reasonably explained, and that I was actually insulted and angered by this mathematically illogical response. I still believe this price change is an attempt to cheat the customer, and three contacts with customer service has not changed my opinion.

"Does not honor orders placed on is-stock items. Cancelled several orders claiming out of stock but the website now says in-stock but at a higher price. "

"Very pathetic. GNC cannot honor their site prices. The product ordered was in stock and I received confirmation for it mentioning the same. However, I received a cancellation mail later that day saying it is out of stock. Its a LIE. This is the 3rd time a simillar incident is happening. Hence I wanted to alert my follow consumers."

"I placed an order & used a coupon, which GNC had emailed to me. GNC then sent me 2 emails the same day: one acknowledgement & one confirmation. The next day, GNC cancelled my order, claiming the product I had ordered was "out of stock." Nevertheless, I immediately went to gnc.com, placed the same item in my cart & saw that the product was showing as "in stock." GNC is guilty of deception, incompetence or both."

"This should ask for last "attempted" order as I can't get their website to process this order. After a very frustrating call to customer service I will NEVER shop here again. The service is dreadful."

"I ordered 3 boxes of GNC Mega Men 50 plus vitamins online with a discount code of FSPLUS10. It should have been free shipping plus 10% off. The GNC site only gave me a partial amount off shipping and ignored the 10% off. I have a tax exemption status. So I thought, simple enough I'll call into customer service to straighten this out.

First of all, they would not honor my tax exempt card because I was buying these vitamins as a gift for my boyfriend in his name. He lives in the same house with me. According to state law, he is also tax exempt or there's a $500 fine for not accepting my tax exemption status.

Customer service still refused to accept the order as tax exempt and demanded that I cancel this order and re-order in my own name. I had to re-supply my credit card number over the phone twice. The promo code would not work over the phone. Then a day later I received the $2 tax credit. I spoke to several people and got different answers.

A new order was placed, order number ***-***-****. Once again a faxed in copies of my tax exemption card (this was the 4th time). The original order went through Paypal. It still shows as pending and GNC refused to contact Paypal. I can't dispute pending status on Paypal.

GNC still owes me a total of $6.61. I doubt I'll receive the refund. Latest news on this last order, UPS claims delivery and I have not received it. GNC claims it went to the local post office who claim they don't have the order yet either. Now what? Shall I report GNC to the Tax Commission for not accepting my tax exemption status to begin with then see what their opinion is???

"Ordered 4 3-lb containers of GNC Oats & Whey at buy one get one 50% off. They cancelled my order after stating that it was unavailable. I wasn't the only one who received this email. No explanation, no effort to make good on the order, nothing but a generic computer generated email that they had cancelled. Very frustrating. I won't order from them again."

"I placed my order on the 29 mid morning and it was marked as fill within an hour.. NICE i'll get it by Monday or Tuesday.. WRONG.. The package is still sitting somewhere on their dock and hasn't even left.. I know this because the tracking number they assigned 2 days ago is not in FedEx's system yet..

So yes they filled the order quickly, or made the system look like that but it hasn't been shipped yet.. I would rather see Processing then Ready but by the way we didn't feel like putting it on the truck yet..

Besides this they are WAY over priced.. I found the same ON Casein powder elsewhere for half the price of GNC, the only reason i got it from them is they were doing a buy one get one half off special, which brought it down to about $10 more instead of $40.. The other reason was they were the only supplier to have the 2 new flavors i was interested in.
I hope Bodybuilding.com get these in soon so i can get it from them.. They know how to treat their customers..

"Their online order cart says "Coupons & GNC Gold Cards are not available through Google Checkout."

Translation: If you buy from GNC using Google Checkout the discount for gold card will not be applied even though the cart makes it look like it has applied.

However, by instead paying with a credit card in their online cart the gold card other discounts will go through just fine and save a bundle. The Gold Card is a great money saving device for regular customers which vitamin and supplement buyers are likely to be. I buy grains for our daily bread making through GNC online and buying in quantity (over $75)means not even have to pay shipping! From time to time GNC gives free shipping on all orders regardless of amount.

GNC is about the finest place to buy for items they stock!
