Very bad service

"If there were 0 stars, that would be what they deserve!
Their website shows fedex delivery about max 8 days.
It’s been already 3 months since I placed order which I never got, and track number doesn’t show me anything. I’ve been contacting to support services several times about my order, but only what they said that they give full 6 weeks for delivery and they working with feedex company for faster delivery and tracking order, but in the same time they said they can’t tell me where is my order. Reading all these reviews, there was an opinion that it is not a fact that my warrant was sent to me at all.

Poor customer service, high prices

"Although customer serve over the years has never been stellar with these folks, it has gotten decidedly worse over the last year. Everything is very expensive and the wholesale discounts are beyond a joke. Items are missing or broken every single time (as previously mentioned by other customers), so I suspect that there is very little quality control. In regards to FMG customer service, after you wait forever in the queue the people answering the phone are astoundingly rude and sarcastic! This order was my last, they have lost my (I'm a professional beadworker/jeweler) and my family's business. Given the number of bad reviews I have now seen all over the internet and social media, it's a wonder these folks are still in business. Things used to be a lot better. Not recommended, buyer beware!"

Nice Gems & Great Customer Service

"I've just begun with beading. I was please with my 1st order and now ordered more. Also, I lost a stone in a bracelet. After sending pics. FMG gave me a reasonable 'guess-timate' on the size I need.
Additionally, prices were reasonable and std shipping was timely. Will order more in the future!

Customer for 4 Years

"I have been ordering from Fire Mountain Gems for 4 years now and I, while searching for something else, came across this site and these reviews. I felt I had share my experience. I have only ever had one problem with a product, it was with my order a month ago, a glue I ordered had come unsealed but they package things well and it had not spread to anything other than itself. I called customer service, explained the issue and they sent me a replacement. I didn't even need to send pictures or the broken glue back. They charged me nothing for this.

As to the comment from another review about them receiving things that don't look like the picture...the descriptions are clear on all products. I have often bought natural stones and do so knowing the pics are not going to be exactly what I receive but based on the descriptions I have never received something I didn't expect and wasn't satisfied with.

I purchase a variety of things, from cheapish to sterling and I always get exactly what I order, what I expect.

I have made purchases from other sites but they are either more expensive or, when I find something at a better cost...I find the products pics, descriptions and what I receive to be outright lies, especially with sterling.

I'm sad so many have had a bad experience with Fire Mountain recently and I hope I continue to not have those experiences.

never again

"Fire Mountain Gems and beads used to be amazing. USED TO HAVE great prices, selection, customer service, shipping prices..... These days HOWEVER, the prices are too high, the quality is horrible, the shipping expensive for large orders, and the most unforgiveable: the beads they send seldom resemble what the webstore picture looks like. I will never order from them again. I was one of their platinum customers back in the day for many years, never again."

Always a positive experience

"I have made numerous purchases over the last two years. I think their prices for Swarovski crystals and jewelry findings are more than reasonable. Shipping is very quick. When I have had an issue, customer service has always been helpful. My only criticism is that Fire Mountain does not stock interesting artisan or vintage beads."

awful return process, rip off

"I had sent many years ago a return of about $90 worth of crap, some broken things, some things which stated it was sterling silver and it wasn't to which customer service replied, we can't keep track of all of our suppliers. Well, I never got a refund.
So this time, I sent $73 worth of crap back to them, a broken earring, crap with lots of single items and broken items in their $7.99 grab bag and to my horror the grab bag and broken earring was sent back to me without my consent...they charged me shipping, sent it priority mail with my husband having to sign for it. Now many times, I have kept broken items from them or things that don't match the picture, but this was an outrageous insult. Out of many years of doing business with them and keeping many of their crappy things do to cost of shipping returns, this was absolutely outrageous. If they had called me, I would have said, "Throw the crap away." But for them to send it back to me COD, it was a very huge insult that we had to pay for including them getting a signed signature that we received the items. Beware, if you order from them, be prepared to keep everything. Buyer beware!!! Stay away from this company.

This company has ripped off SO many people

"This unethical company is ripping off thousands of dollars from their loyal customers. If you are one of the MANY who are being refused refunds under their Iron Clad Guarantee, I am letting people know that they must file complaints to BOTH the State of Oregon Department of Justice, and also the Federal Trade Commission - (search for them as I don't think they are allowing me to post the links here). If possible, include copies of order confirmations and shipping confirmations that show the Iron Clad Guarantee. What they did is illegal, and if everyone files complaints, they will be held accountable. It only takes a few minutes. I can't stress how important it is that EVERYONE files BOTH claims!"

Changed Return Policy to 90 days or worse AND it's Retroactive

"This company which suddenly turned into a criminal enterprise has RETROACTIVELY modified its return policy as of Dec 2016. That means anyone who made purchases more than 90 days prior to the change has lost their right to return - or that's what the company wants you to believe. I contacted my attorney about it who suggested I first make a complaint via the State of Oregon.

All states have consumer protection statutes that prohibit deceptive business practices. What this company has done is downright disgusting and totally dishonest. When we made purchases via their site, we relied on their return policy.

WE ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE COMPANY based on that return policy. The company CANNOT unilaterally modify that policy. Everyone MUST contact the Oregon Dept of Justice, Consumer Protection. File an online complaint with all the necessary details and it will be investigated as a deceitful, deceptive practice and should allow folks to make the returns. My attorney also said this could amount to a rather huge class action case. DO NOT let them get away with it. When too many people start complaining, the Oregon Attorney General might step in and take care of these criminals. I am old and have seen a lot of despicable behavior by businesses, but to revise a return policy retroactively after countless people made purchases BASED ON their liberal return policy is just off the charts unacceptable.

Keep in mind that if a business will pull a stunt like this, then it cannot be trusted with anything!!!

Change of return guarantee

"Ordered precious metals $668 worth. Wrong guage. But the company changed guarantee from what is written on my invoice. They sent back to me even after I spoke to someone on the phone prior of return. Over $16 in postage . I was not notified in any form but me calling the company. First time I ordered precious metals from them. I will not order again "

Buyers Beware!

"Fire Mountain Gems is really expensive place to buy inferior products, especially gem stones and pearls. Everything they sell can be purchased at other sites for far less money. It is unbelievable what they over charge for sterling silver, Swarovski beads and strands of gemstones. All of these products can be found for way much less and save your hard earned money! I absolutely do not recommend them."

"I run a small jewelry shop, and I have to say by far that fire mountain has the best quality sterling silver chains that resist tarnish. I have shopped at many stores for sterling silver chains, and theirs are the best quality for shine and tarnish resistant and durability that I have found. Excellent quality and great service.
For those complaining about paying for shipping with returns, if you receive something broken just call them and they will email you a return shipping label free of cost. I have done that without a problem.
Their online chat is great for answering any questions, and their customer service is excellent too.
I have been a customer for 3 years.

"Almost all the bracelets I ordered are to small as though they were made for children. Now they want me to pay more money for shipping to return. Don't believe their IRON CLAD GUARANTEE. I shouldn't have to pay again for items that are to small. Your not happy, we're not happy, is bull. I'm not happy and they don't card. I'm glad I only spent 25.00."

"I just ordered 100 bracelets from FIre Mountain Gems and the ones that came with metal clasps are almost 100% broken, the clasps won't close etc. Tried to call customer service but got the answering service at 10:20 a.m. "They're too busy taking new orders to talk to past customers." They wanted me to leave a name and phone number so someone could call me. Really???

I won't ever order from them again. Customer service is too busy???
