One of the worst companies I ever dealt with. Stole my money

"Unlike some other customers, I did not purchase my ticket to a wrong showtime or a wrong theater. I found out I couldn't go see the movie an hour before the showtime and tried to cancel my purchase through the app twice before the showtime, and every time it would not go through, giving me an error message on their web site indicating that the request cannot be completed. The next 30 minutes I was forced to wait to get in touch with a customer service representative via chat. I was placed 60th !!! in queue and was dropped / kicked out of line twice. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with anyone, I submitted the request for refund via email. After a week long wait to hear back, I was denied the refund, stating that I should have cancelled BEFORE showtime. I replied AGAIN, repeating that I DID attempt to cancel it twice on the web site and twice via chat BEFORE the showtime. After waiting to hear back for at least 3 days, I got denied my refund again. Will not ever purchase from Fandango again, until I get back the $12 that they stole from me, and I suggest you do t deal with them as well."

Theives!

"I purchased 2 tickets for Star Wars on the 26th. When we went to the theater the next day right before the show started, the ticket retrieval kiosk said the confirmation number I'd been emailed was invalid. We went to the front desk for help. They tried to retrieve the tickets again using the emailed confirmation number and the same credit card I used for the purchase. No luck. I had to make a quick decision to buy more tickets and deal with fandango later. Now, days later and after hours and hours of waiting for live chat, I've been very rudely told that they cannot refund my money because it's after the show time. How would I know ahead of time that their confirmation number wasn't going to work! This was not a mistake on my part, this is clearly their error and they refuse to help me. They basically stole my money! And 5 hours of my time as well. "

damn fandango

"If you are reading this review BEFORE you have made a transaction with Fandango you are one smart and fortunate consumer! I advise you NOT to proceed to do any business with this company. I ordered an e-digital gift card for a friend and he never received it. I sent Fandango an email and they said the credit card was rejected. I sent another gift card 2 days later and again he didn't receive it. Fandango replied the same excuse blaming the credit card. I called the Credit Card company and they charged me for both gift cards and stated the credit card is valid. For the past 4 days I have been sending emails to Fandango and they keep replying with a generic, cursory email saying the problem is with the credit card. In addition, I call Fandango on the phone and they never pick up the call (it stays in queue the entire time). I have called at 6:00 a.m. and all other times of the day but the result is always the same! I strongly urge you to avoid doing any
business with this company.

WORST COMAPNY EVER! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

"WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!! THEY WILL NEVER GET MY MONEY AGAIN. Twice now they have not offered any exchange for tickets that were bought at the wrong location. The first time I called they would not exchange them because it was not two hours before show time. The second time they would not refund them because it was 5 minutes after showtime. I was not going to ask for the money back. I simply wanted to exchange the tickets to a different movie theatre and they could not accomadate my family and I. They will rip you off without even another thought or care of how this will affect your family. So now we have lost out on nearly $100 with them because of their carelessness. I truly hope this company is run to the ground. "

I bought tickets using fandango (for the first and LAST time) and my daughters couldn't get into the theater because they had to be 18? It was our first time to this theater and I did not know their policy. When she called to tell me I went online and tried to cancel and it gave me an error message. When I called I was on hold for at least 5 minutes when I got through it was 1 MINUTE past the show time and they wouldn't exchange my tickets. I called to speak to an idiot supervisor named Mariam and all she could say was "I don't know what I can say to make you understand we won't give you a refund" Are you kidding me a company that big offers that kind of customer service? What a joke... i will tell everyone I know to NEVER use Fandango!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But reading the hundreds of negative reviews it is clear they don't care... Very sad!!

Never use Fandango again!

"I purchased two tickets last weekend and I accidentally put in the wrong email address and could not receive my tickets. I purchased the tickets again at the theater and after the movie I called them and they said they could not see any charges, then today I had a bill on my credit card from Fandango. I called them and they said that they would not do anything about it since I did not call them before the movie. This movie was only a third full and even though I messed up with putting in the wrong email (which is what they said so I am not sure if that is really what happened its just what they told me) I feel I should receive a gift card for the purchase I did not use! Never again will I use them!"

Out $100!

"Last night, I purchased 8 tix, thinking they were for tonight's showing. Oops, missed the show. No refund. Tried online help, and they just quoted refund policy - must request refund 2 hours before show. They wouldn't even refund the $11 convenience fee they charged me. We are out $100!!!! Beware when you use Fandango. Be very careful to make sure of each detail… Don't bother using online "live" help. They are not helpful. :-( "

"Accidentally ordered tickets for a12:00am show when I wanted the 12:00pm show. I contacted fandango imeadatly and they would not give me a refund because it was less than 2 hours from the start of the show. After all the business I have done with them over the years they were willing to end that relationship for $30."

"Purchased tickets to the wrong theater, and contacted Fandango within 5 minutes. They responded quicky, and told me it was impossible to refund my tickets or use them for a different showing. Purchase still pending, they refused to be of any help. Out $30 and no way to redeem it. Will NOT be using them ever again. "

Beware..You will get a runaround for refund.

"Purchased two tickets for the showing of 13 hrs 3 days in advance of the showing. Within hrs of making the reservation I cancelled the reservation and made it for a different day. I received a refund confirmation number in email that same day. This was on 1/112/16. They say u will get the refund with 3 to 5 days. No way. I have had 4 conversations with their representatives. each asked me to check with Paypal. I did and responded that paypal had no record of the refund. The 3 rep told me that the matter will be resolved within 48 hrs. 5 days ago. I contacted them again and they told me they were going to elevate the matter, which is what the others stated also. Still no refund. so, Beware of this organization."

"Fandango return policy is not customer friendly and set up so that they do not have to issue refunds or credits. Fandango's return policy is not customer friendly or fair! I had 4 tickets to the Star Wars Premier on 12/17/2015. Family members got sick and could not use 3 of the tickets. I started calling at 10am on 12/17 to request a refund. Their phone system was overwhelmed and told me to call back later, all day long. A tech confirmed this via email response 16 days later that there system was overwhelmed. I have spent 10 hours in automated phone system hell since trying to get a real live person on the phone. No such luck. I was emailed 16 days later telling me that since I do not have proof that I contacted Fandango 2 hours prior to the movie they can't do anything. This company is terrible at customer service in general and really not interested in fixing their problems after a customer gets a hold of them. "

"Fandango absolutely sucks! If your session times out it will autopopulate new information and sell you tickets for the wrong time or location. Then when you call to get the problem fixed you will have a 45 minute wait to talk to some rude customer service rep who will tell you no exchanges or refunds within 2 hours of show time. If you ask to speak to a supervisor, you will be sent to a voicemail box. Avoid using fandango at all cost because they offer no gaurentee and terrible customer service."

"I wish it were possible to not even give them a star whatsoever.

As a Christmas present for my children, I went online to order 4 movie tickets for Thursday (Christmas Eve). The session timed out and when I continued, it saved the time and the amount of tickets I wanted, but apparent defaulted the date to today. I realized the error once I got the email confirmation. This was at 11:17A, and the showtime was to be 1:00P.
I called immediately and was promptly put on hold for 48 minutes before I got a human being on the phone. "Kimberley" informed me that there was nothing she could do because the showtime was in less than two hours. I told her that when I purchased the tickets, it was already within the two hour time frame, so that seemed a little odd of a policy. I also told her I did not want my money back, I just wanted to change the date. She said there "are policies in place for a reason, so therefore, there was nothing she could do". At this point, I asked for a supervisor and she refused, telling me that he would definitely tell me the same thing she had just told me, so there was no need to transfer my call.
She finally ended the call by telling me that she "suggest I read things carefully next time before confirming."
Fantastic. I am out $48. Merry Christmas to me.
