"We ordered some door hardware and received this note on their site after charging our card: "Thank you for your order. Congratulations! Your order has been placed. You will receive your order confirmation shortly." But several hours later, there was no email confirmation (no, not even in spam folder), yet they HAD charged my credit card. I checked again the next day and the next and the next. Finally, after seven days, I emailed and told them I hadn't received my order confirmation yet, my card had been charged and kindly asked for an order confirmation and shipping estimate. I waited another seven days and still heard nothing. So after TWO WEEKS of no order confirmation, and no replies to my inquiry, I emailed again and asked them to cancel my order. Still, I heard nothing, so I had to contact my card issuer to dispute the transaction which took some time, but VISA finally credited back the purchase price. And I've never heard anything from them - ever!
As a side note, I did some research, and they're not really a company at all, but rather a private residence on a golf course in Ashland, Virginia. My guess is someone has some drop-shipping agreements with some manufacturers and does this as a side hussle? Only for us, they only took our money and never delivered or communicated anything.

"Similar to other reviewers, I made the mistake of ordering a door bell button and flush bolt plate from Factory Direct Hardware. I placed the order on 06/13/18 and later found that it was not in stock. There is no direct way to contact this individual, and I think he is a re-seller working out of his home?
Anyway, I finally received the items and then found out that the cheap oiled bronze finish (paint?) had come off the door bell button. I requested an exchange or refund on 06/13/18, and have sent a couple of follow up requests. The only reply so far has been "I'm looking into it....."
I would definitely recommend avoiding this reseller !! "

"My hardware arrived on time, and was accurate - EXCEPT that the finish of the drawer knobs does not match the finish of the door pulls. This is, technically, not the fault of Factory Direct Hardware, but as the seller, they have a responsibility to handle returns & refunds. They promise to, they have policies on their website, but in reality, they WILL DO NOTHING TO HELP YOU. Three months after delivery, and they still cannot find $80 to refund me. They have no live connection - they hide behind a phone recording, and an internet complaint form. Very, very poor business practices. Obviously a thinly cloaked fly-by-night operation. DO NOT RECOMMEND. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

"If you wish to return items, you are directed to fill out an online form to request a return authorization. No response is made to the request. If you call the company, a recording directs you to the online request form, then hangs up on you. So, it's an intentional dead-end. Very bad business practices.

"I ordered $USD88.59 ($CAD120.40) worth of door lock parts for shipment to Canada via UPS. Factory Direct gave UPS a commercial invoice indicating a value of over $CAD800.00. As a result UPS paid too much duty and tried to bill me for it, plus their customs brokerage fees. UPS wanted $CAD131.43, which was more than I paid for the parts.
Two written requests to Factory Direct to issue a corrected invoice to UPS resulted in nothing. They never answer a call. There is no separate number for customer service.
These people are horrible and useless."
