"I placed a order on tuesday on the phone for a fall harness asked them if thay had a store (it was a local for me just under hour drive)and explaned to them I had to have it for work that I would be doing that weekend and I would pick it up on friday thay told me that thay would have it in there store on Bethel rd. receved a shipping confermation saying it was shiped on tuesday called thursday to the store to see if it was in and was told it wouldent be in till friday then I get a call from a guy named George saying it was not going to be in till monday I explaned to him that that I was assured it would be in the store friday he got rude stating that he could not control ups I told him if this was the case then I would cancel the order.
Then I called the call center asking to speak to a manger I was told he had left for the eavining so I ask for his name and was told that thay couldent give out his name asked if thay could have the manager call me then I receved a call back from quess who George he was the owner.well I explaned to him that I wanted it canceled and that I was lead to belive that it was in there warhouse just out side of columbus at that time his rudness turned into volgarity then lead into yelling at me I have no ideal what he was even saying he was screaming totaly off the hook.not even close to being professional.I worked in retail before and never seen anything like this before
I wouldent care if thay were giving things away I would not ever deal with this company again and unless you like being screamed at I wouldent suggest you deal with them"

" I ordered a patagonia jacket from Everest Gear. It came but the zipper was a bit sticky on the bottom. After wearing it 2 times it didn't work at all. I emailed Everest Gear and said that I would like to exchange it. They insisted that I pay for the return postage. WHAT??? Quality control issues and I have to pay the postage in order to get a replacement??? This is not good at all. They have lost me as a customer."

"Everestgear.com has a great variety of sleeping bags, and performance apparels. From time to time, they offer promotional coupon codes, which brings some items to a extremely good deal. It also offers free shipping when total price of order is above a certain amount.

The website, however, is poorly managed, and the customer service is not too reasonable. I had experience where my order was processed then got canceled the next day. The reason, told by the customer service, was because they cannot offer me a price match together with a 20$ off coupon. I did not argue with them, and canceled the order. The second time I purchased with everestgear.com, my order was canceled AGAIN! because they can not find the item. The unacceptable thing is that it was me who had contacted them 5 days after purchase did I find out about this situation.

The customer service did not bother to apologize or compensate me in any way, hence I'm posting my shopping experience here for you to see.

So, online shoppers, next time you do business with everestgear.com, call to confirm the availability of purchased items, your additional requests( price match, coupon code), and estimated shipping date and tracking number.

Beware! they may cancel your order even if your online order was processed completely. I do not blame the customer service for this, I blame whom ever developed and is managing the website.

Overall, they have a good variety of gears, but the website and customer service need to be improved.
