Christmas debacle and follow up nightmear

"We ordered several games in early nov 26th for the kids. Called them for 3 straight weeks as nothing arrived. Finally after 4 weeks got our games from a warehouse in brampton. Not one service person got back to us. Finally now in Febuary they got back to us offering up some form of compensation asking for our thoughts. Now another 2 weeks with no response.

Just a complete disaster and will be obselete and brankrupt with the next few years for sure.

The worst customer service!

"I placed an order online for in stock items on December 18th and I paid extra for express shipping (1-2 business days), after the express time had expired and I didn’t receive any sort of shipping notification so I called customer service at least 10 times, left 5 voicemails and sent 3 emails with NO response! Today is now January 12th and I received 2 items from my order yesterday, 1 of the boxes was very damaged and my 3rd item didn’t arrive but I was charged to the full order. I called customer service again to inquire about why I was charged for my full order but didn’t receive it and I wanted a refund for express shipping since it clearly took weeks to partially receive my in stock order. Just THE worst experience I’ve ever had and I shop online weekly. Please do yourself a favour, and do not order online from this store. Never again! "

Very poor Customer service

"Well I’m still waiting in a cue to speak to EB games customer service now have been waiting 30 min and they said wait time could be up to 40 min .

Wouldn’t you think they would have more staff on especially after Christmas and new year as their would be an influx with people wanting to talk to customer service , No EB games are cheap and have very poor customer service as they only employ Skelton staff which saves them money while the consumer have to wait for long periods of time , Shane on you EB games

people are nice get your **** straight

"People there are very nice and Helpful when buying refurbished products I can’t stay the same recently I purchased a Wii u and it stopped reading discs within days of purchasing it. So I return it and get a new one the game pad did way did not even work straight out of the box. EB games you have a great employees but you need to check the boxes before you sell them, it’s a bit ridiculous Company like this would make such a mistake. Get your **** straight EB games your starting to **** me of and if you don’t stop I’ll move on to a new games store.

Order cancelled

"Ordered stuff online Nov 26, heard nothing for a week, phoned them and they said waiting on one item. So I agreed for them to send what they have and will receive the other later no problem they said. Will ship out last week, get an email last night saying order cancelled wtf...nvr buying anything again from them online or in store."

I’m an idiot... don’t make my mistake.

"Here’s another one, I ordered a switch November 22, controllers and games, the works. Took payment and sent confirmation email, but no tracking number was to be found...
I’ve now sent 4 emails, one got a response and nothing for over 3 weeks now. I’ve called their 1-877 and first time spoke to a 20 year old zombie, second time a girl Megan, and then was lucky enough to speak with Rebecca(a manager!!!).
I sincerely thought everything was dealt with and was assured 100% my parcel would arrive via express purolator.
As of yet I still haven’t received a tracking number or confirmation of any kind.
Again.
I don’t know if these people are lying through there teeth or if the warehouse is ****, bUt wow. Just wow. $500 purchase and they just **** on me, repeatedly.

Now going to drive 2 hours to the city(i live very rural) straight to BestBuy and picking up what I need.

Online order - NEVER AGAIN

"I first wanted to pick up items instore where I saw there were quantities available. Every store I tried (3) confirmed my order and then sent me an email couple minuted later to say sorry none in stock. So, I ordered online... What a terrible idea. I ordered 4 items november 26th. I checked and they said orders could take up to 5 business days before being shipping during that week due to christmas time. I thought that was reasonable. Then after 7 business days, I wrote an email to ask about the delay. The automatic reply asked to allow two business days for response. Then the next day I got an email saying we have not forgotten about your order, it will ship by the end of the week. The following monday, (we are now dec.10) i have yet to receive a reply to my email or an email confirming my item has shipped... When i call, the lady says my order should definitely ship by the end of the week. I said sorry, I don't believe you anymore, cancel and reimburse me. Then i went on amazon, ordered similar items, and I got confirmation they should arrive tomorrow.... NEVER AGAIN with eb games."

Online ordering = terrible

"Ordered a new PS4 console and two games on November 22. Paid the extra $15 for Purolator express shipping, and here it's now Dec. 11th and still hasn't been shipped. Got an email on Dec. 4 saying "we haven't forgotten about your order and that it's been super busy, etc. and your order WILL ship this week." It's a week later, still hasn't been shipped so I called. They said it will ship next week now...but can't say if it will be here in time for Xmas. Absolutely disgusted with the service and generic responses I've been getting after spending a few hundred dollars with them. NEVER AGAIN EB Games!"

Horrible customer service

"I bought 2 games 18 days ago and they've ignored 6 emails over the past 2 weeks. Still no game, no shipping confirmation, no communication at all. These scumbags deserve to go bankrupt. They make most of their profits off of ripping off children who don't know what a bad deal they are getting when they trade in games"

Awful customer service

"I ordered 3 games online for a Black Friday sale. I ordered the games Nov. 26, and had not heard ANYTHING from them by Dec. 6 so e-mailed customer service to see where my order was or what the status was. I am a regular online shopper and every other store updates you on the status of your order and when it will be shipped usually the day you make your purchase. No one from EB even bothered to respond to my inquiry, and on Dec. 7 I got an email stating my order had been shipped, which I didn't receive until Dec. 12 (even though it was shipped expedite).... I think its very unreasonable to have to wait 2.5 weeks to receive something purchased online with absolutely no update from the company. Very poor customer service and very behind in comparison to most other online stores. "

Do NOT buy from EBGames

" I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED.
I bought Tomb Raiders and Call of Duty for a gift for my husbands birthday. I was offered to buy one $14.00 less for a used one. Since it was a gift I thought I would buy the brand new one. He opened up Call of duty the next day and it was on line and not what he wanted. I gave him the original receipt that I paid $185 for 2 games. ( I paid $3 extra for the warranty) and he returned it today. Because the wrap was not on it they gave him $30, I paid $90. Because the wrap was off and it was not played it cost $60? They will turn around and sell this as a used game for $76.

I will NEVER buy from there again and I will be telling everyone I know family, friends, coworkers and clients not to buy anything from there. All my friends that have kids will hear about this. This is absolutely disgusting.

EBgames takes your money for product they don't have

"I ordered a funko pop from ebgames.ca because I missed it when it was in store. It said this item was available, in stock, will ship immediately. I paid $4.99 for standard shipping (ships within 10 business days). After ordering I received the confirmation email right away. I didn't hear anything else from them. After 10 business days I emailed them. They said the item was not in stock, that they were doing a recall from stores and to check back in a week. Why didn't they email me about this? When I check my order it just says "confirmed". I emailed them again a week later and got the same reply. They said they could not give me a ETA. Now it's been a month. They're still giving me the same reply. As far as I can tell they just took my money and are stringing me along until I ask for a refund. Who runs a business like this? Seems like fraud."

Pre Order of Fifa 19

"Don't pre order ANYTHING from EB Games! If you payment doesn't go through, they will only let you know the day before release day which means you won't get the game on the date of release. They promise you that you will get it on that day, but when you call for an update in the early afternoon, they tell you that it hasn't even bordered the trucked yet and you will only get it early of the next week. You are much better buying the online version on the PS Store, where you also don't pay taxes on the game."

Employee lacking of knowledge of PS4 controller

"Last week, I went to EB games located in Chinook mall in Calgary trying to get some information about using the PS4 controller to play PC games. I first consulted one of guys who gave me cold attitude. Basically he mentioned to me that as a game store which focuses on console games, he didn't need to explain to me anything with PC-related. Then I tried to ask another guy who worked as cashier, and he spent 5 minutes trying to explain to me the difference between EB games and the Games Stop which as a customer I don't need to know. To be honest SONY has from long time ago started promoting the connection ability of its PS4 controller with PC, so it's a shame the EB games employees working at the Chinook mall in Calgary had zero knowledge about it, and since this PC connectivity is one of major features offered from PS4 (now on par with XBOX controller), shouldn't EB employees all know about it? The experience I had with EB games was poor."

Pawn shop laws or something like that!?!?!?

"My 6 y/o with grandma went in to see about "trading in" some games. Store mgr said one was too old and the other, they would only give $5 for. They did it and got the game my son wanted. Not being a good deal, we phoned the store to ask about getting back the $5 game and a store credit for the new game he bought which wasn't really suitable for him. They said ok, so less than 12 hrs later, went in and got a store gift card. Only by looking at the receipt did we realize they charged us $15 for our old game they paid $5 for. When asked about it, store mgr said it is store policy & "pawn shop laws", he can't do anything it, defended the policy, waaaa waaa waaa. Would have been nice if they just told us that either on the phone or before/during the exchange. It was a bad experience made worse by the terrible customer service. Wish I saw all the bad reviews before letting my son go in."
