"Wish i'd read reviews before I ordered. I thought my order would arrive in 7 business days, but NO. It takes THREE days before they even shipped the order and then 7 business days before I will even receive the order."

"I've just written them; but doubt whether their CEO's will see the letter. I'd ordered freeze dried lamb snax for my dogs. The problem is that when the container arrived, there are two tiny stickers applied; one to the back of the label and one underneath the bottom. Both state "Made in China". This really ticks me off; so much of their stuff is made over there now. They should state this under each of their products in the catalog. Of course, it will never happen - they wouldn't sell anything. I'd been buying from them for many years; I don't think I will anymore. My question to them was, do they raise sheep/lambs in China ? Doubt it; so where does it really come from; or rather - under what conditions ?"

"I needed to get Heartworm Preventative Pills for my two dogs and I had my vet fax them the prescriptions. From all the stores on-line and those that advertise on television a lot, Drs. Foster & Smith had the best price hands down plus free shipping since my order was over a certain dollar amount. I needed more this year and after looking around, found they are still the best bet in town and placed another order with them."

"DO NOT ORDER if your delivering to APO address. its 6 weeks already and i STILL have not received my shipment. Free shipping awesome... 6 weeks still no product, FAIL. DO NOT order anything you need soon. i am waiting on filter media for my saltwater tank. It would be nice if they offered priority shipping at a premium price but they do not. again DO NOT ORDER if your shipping to APO!"

"I bought 9 pairs of fancy guppies to start a 55 gallon tank of breeding, pretty guppies (completely clean tank with no other fish). The males i received were beautiful. I am very disappointed with the females that were sent, as they had body fungus, which obviously infected my tank. Now I have to try several different treatments to try to get rid of this disease (very costly). I also decided to order from Drs Foster & Smith because I thought the fish would be of a higher quality than the pet stores. The fish also cost more. I will know better next time and just get them from the pet store. Considering I discovered the problem far before the 14 days of having the fish and it is has been less than a month with only 7 of 18 fish remaining, I think at least some of them should be replaced or refunded. However, I have been told there is nothing they can do because it is past the 14 days. I wrote a response of disappointment back to them and they have at least offered to pay for the fish that have died. This is still rather expensive with the cost of overnight shipping plus treatment that will not be refunded."

"I am shocked by all the bad reviews that have been left for the Docs. I wouldnt think that they could have such bad service or shipping. I have ordered from them in the past and never had a problem with anything. I must say that I was worried about the new FedEx Smartpost. After hearing all the bad stories about it I expected the same with my most recent order. Not too bad though. It didn't go all over the country or bounce in and out of my state, and was delivered in a timely manner considering I ordered on the 16th of January and got it today on the 23rd. Including the weekend and that holiday** for the shipping company (** told to me by the Customer Service at the docs), it was only 7 days in all. Not too bad I suppose. I did request when I talked to the CSR that it be added on my profile to only ship with FedEx Ground or UPS. They were happy to oblige. All in all I was satisfied as always. For anyone that had problems with shipping and wrote the Docs off, try them one more time and request your prefered shipping. That might make your experience better but who knows."

"hands down best prices best free shipping policy.....they will send return labels if something is not satisfactory...but you have to be REAL and they help i have spent over $5,000. on supplies ther n the past 5 years, good company people and im hard to please"

"Ordered a lounger dog bed on New Years Day, contacted F&S the following day saying I thought I ordered it too large. Was told it was being processed, however they would happily accept returns since their policy was 100% customer satisfaction. The bed arrived a week later and my dog hated it, preferring her old bolster bed. The shipping to return it was nearly the purchase price. I asked customer service for a return mailing label and was told it was my responsibility.
So beware - be 100% sure if you purchase a large item. Drs. Foster and Smith offers no help with the cost of a return.

"Purchased item which has rave reviews on website. My dog didn't find the product nearly as good as the reviews would indicate. I left an neutral review (3 out of 5 stars) and it was refused. Appears they only accept positive reviews of their products to make it seem as though they are better than they are."

"Hi.I ordered some filter media on $65.99.I ordered it on 11/6/2011 and i was expected when they sent it to me.I waited more week and nothing.I sent e-mail to them.They answer me that my bank was not approved this charge.I call to my bank,they said me that this the charge have been approved on 11/7/2011. I wrote e-mail to foster & smith,what going on? They answer to me that my account was on hold therefore they had some issue with my address.This is stupid company."

"I ordered a Fluval spec for $44 and few dollars more free shipping with $50 purchase. So ordered a fluval filter media with it. I was happy because my order processed on the same day and the following week another notice my order was processed. So I called them and asked. The filter media was processed 11/12/11 BUT my tank was not processed until the 11/16/11. And I was told she does NOT know why. So 4 days to process and then another 7-11 day for shipping. WOW!!!

NEVER again!!!!

"I bought a cat tree from Drs. Foster & Smith. I moved, and when I tried to put the tree together again one of the base legs broke. I reported it to the company and they refused to replace the broken leg. They said I had to BUY a replacement. Bottom line - the cat tree cost twice what you can get in a walk-in store, and the quality was horrible. Bad quality products and poor customer service means I will never order from Drs. Foster & Smith again."

"I had ordered Progard 5 Vaccinations (overnight delivery)(1st time every ordering from Drs Foster & Smith, Inc. as they were less expensive)and received the vaccinations hot. I called the company and was told to return them but that I wouldn't be able to place another order until the weather was cooler. I had to then order from another company I had ordered from in the past that packages their vaccinations in a styrophome cooler with several ice packs and I always rec'd them cool and in good condition, but I needed to wait for my refund to be able to afford to order again. I was told today that it could possibly take another two weeks before getting a refund and they couldn't even tell me if they rec'd the return. This is after already over 10 days from the first order. Will never order from this company again. "
