The City requested these super heavy duty mitts because they frankly did not know what to expect and were worried that inadequate bags would mean that people would not pick up after their pets. We paid more than double for those bags, including $118 for shipping. In contrast, the neighborhood group (made up of seasoned dog owners) asked for our support for one bag station and a supply of bags from Dog Waste Depot to get them started.
