"Placed an order and never received it. Emailed several times to find out what went wrong with the order and the response I got was "Get lost!" I called to see who was running such a non-professional business and some guy named Tony got on the phone and actually threatened me with physical violence. Told me to come to San Francisco so he can rib my 'f-ing' head off. "
"This company is a complete scam. They billed my credit card the day I placed the order. Never sent an email notification of the order or any status. Wouldn't answer the phone for 2 days and the voice mail is a generic answer machine a college kid would have in his dorm. When I eventually got someone on the phone they did not answer as if it were a business they just answered "hello" and then asked who is calling. That person was not helpfull in the slightest. I sent a couple of polite emails and got extremely rude emails in response and found out the product was back ordered. I asked to cancel the order, and to get a refund. I also asked why would they bill someone's credit card when a product has not shipped and they were not sure when it would ship?? That led to the "VP" (who was probably the same guy that was answering my emails) calling me and verbally abusing me on my cell phone with many profanities and then proceeded to call my home phone 6 times and my cell phone another 6 times within a half hour because I wouldn't listen to his abuse and hung up. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I am amazed that they remain in business because they are a scam or at a minimum - scum and criminal! I wish I could rate them lower than 1 star!!
**Update - 4/29 - Did get a refund within a day of them accepting the cancellation. Only positive thing I can say, but I do like to be fair."
"I purchased a Canon Zoom lens at the high price of 1400 dollars. Everything seemed in order at first. I received email confirmation and my card was charged. After a week, the item had not shipped. My emails inquiring as to why my lens had not shipped weren't returned. Finally, I called and asked them to cancel my order. They did so and I received an email saying the refund would be processed in 24 hours. Over two weeks later, they still had not refunded my money. They also wouldn't return my emails. Finally, I had to call my bank and dispute the charge.
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. It is an absolute SCAM. "
"Do not order through them! I paid via paypal and they took my money and then canceled my order without telling me. I called and a lady answered the phone "hello". I asked why they canceled my order and she said they dont have the item in stock and they have refunded my money. They had not refunded my money. I disputed the transaction with Paypal. "

ON MAY 8, 2011, NAME OF THEIR STOREFRONT ON AMAZON IS DISTRICTGPS. SAME PHONE NUMBER---BUYER BEWARE!
A family member placed an order for 1 item. District Electronics charged my credit card for the item on the day it was ordered, again the day after it was ordered, the third day they charged double the amount, and continued until I closed the card account. They even continued to try to charge the card after the account was closed and they were reported for fraud to the credit card. AVOID this business. If I could give a lower rating I would because very dissatisfied does not describe how I feel about this unscrupulous company.
After researching the phone number given by District Electronics, it links to not only District electronics but FogCityAudio.com and a home phone number, which actually gives a woman's name and shows as an apartment. They say the phone number is toll free but starts with area code 213. Who knows how many other business scams she/they are running.
DISTRICT ELECTRONICS HAS CHANGED THEIR AMAZON.COM STOREFRONT NAME TO DBEI BUT HAVE THE SAME PHONE NUMBER. BEWARE."
"Horrible customer service, phone calls are rerouted to hide their real location. Fraudulent promises on the product availability and pricing. Angry and abusive responses on e-mails. Must be a some kind of SCAM.
Definitely would not recommend anyone to shop there."
