"I ordered a desktop replacement DVD. It is here;

What I got was a some sort of skinny, internal laptop hard drive that doesn't resemble, in any way, what I ordered.

I ordered expedited shipping instead of the bare minimum to try and get it here before Christmas. I called them up and now I have to jump through a bunch of fiery hoops to get what I ordered. The guy on the phone IMMEDIATELY knew the process though so obviously this happens a lot. The process was also long and complicated and the guy on the phone had an attitude. I have to wait on them to send me paperwork, fill out the paperwork, get a shipping label, ship it back, wait for them to get it and then ship it back to me. I'm guessing I'm out the amount I paid for expedited shipping. It already took too long to get it. I'm guessing I should have it in February. First and last time I will ever order from this place. All the other RAVE (sarcasm) review and mine should hopefully warn others to steer away from this house of rude incompetence.

"I bought a laptop battery from the online version of this store on April 21st 2009 because it was a good deal. I paid for and received the battery along with a receipt, nothing else.

The battery started to fail in mid to late July. Here was MY mistake. I did not immediately contact the store about the battery failure. I have a litany of excuses; vacation, business trip, ignorance etc. but all along i thought. "This store is an actual brick & mortar store, they'll treat me right" WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! a 'Jake' from the online division informed me it was past the 90 days. (by about 12 days) i pushed back. He referred me to the online warranty, 90 days. I asked to speak to his superior, he (jake) said no and "90 days".

What is most irritating about this experience is not that he would not bend on the 90 days, (he should have then, i would not be writing this review, but a good one) Nor is it that i was never able to talk to Jakes superior, (if you're doing a good job you have nothing to fear about this) but mostly that the battery was junk. Discount electronics sells CRAP. it's cheaper because it's cheap junk. The do not care about you as a customer, and they do not care about their name, and they do not care about their products. DO NOT BUY FROM DISCOUNT ELECTRONICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Updated 10-28-08: I was finally able to get someone by phone who agreed to send a return shipment label for the part. I got notice today that my total purchase had been refunded.

I would still advise you to be careful when dealing with this company. My experience with them means I cannot recommend them as a vendor.

this company said they stocked a specific dell part number for a motherboard i desperately needed and I ordered it. A 90-day warranty was offered. The invoice clearly states the exact part number I ordered.

Although I received the part the next day it was NOT what I had ordered. I called the company only to find out that they do not offer anything but email support. I fired off multiple emails to them and used their contact forms.

My first response was a note from support which basically said "there are many several different part numbers for motherboards that fit a Dimension 4600. Sorry for the confusion."

I would have expected them to apologize for THEIR error and offer to ship the correct part. I was wrong! After a second barrage of emails and contacting them many times with their web contact form I received an offer to send the metal I/O backplate that would adapt the incorrect part they sent to the case I had. I reluctantly accepted this offer. This was done more than a week ago.

After a week of no further communication from Discount Electronics.com, I called them again and demanded a solution. The guy said he'd try to get the backplate and send it to me. He promised an update by email within 24 hours.

This store has a web and retail division. I checked their BBB listing and do no recommend that you deal with this company based on the experience I have had so far. Their retail store has a very bad BBB rating.
