Cumbersome Ordering Process, Lousy Communications

"Although the initial online ordering process was smooth the follow-up was bizarre. After placing my order I received an email stating that I would receive a phone call which would provide a 4-digit verification PIN. Why I needed this I don't know. The call came through while I was out, so I missed this supposedly important PIN. I called Canada Direct and was place in a 20-minute queue to speak to someone. When my turn finally came up I got a voice message saying there were no agents available and to call back later. In the meantime I kept getting emails saying my credit card was accepted, everything was verified, and the order was being processed. I received the package yesterday and everything was fine. So what was all this about a 4-digit PIN? Beats me. They definitely need a less confusing ordering system and much better phone access."

Zero communication. Worst customer experience by a mile.

"Bought 2 items of them on separate occasions.
First item, an SSD, got charged, processed and then cancelled and refunded out of nowhere. Not a word said to me about why it got refunded, the order just disappeared.
Second item, a keyboard, got charged, processed once again. After a week I sent a ticket and got a response "sorry, they're out of stock at the moment" (despite my buying while it was in stock) "I can cancel the order or check when they're coming".
Asked him to check when it'd be back, but never heard anything. Same night my order got marked as shipped, tracking number and all. Except it's been 2 weeks since and the tracking number still doesn't show up in Canada Post's system, meaning IT HASN'T ACTUALLY BEEN SHIPPED. I opened a ticket a week ago, no response.

I still don't have my item, 3 weeks later, or any communication indicating when I'll get it. Overall I am very unimpressed

Direct Canada used to be great; now it's horrible.

"I placed an order on nov. 26, making sure that the items were in stock. I received the package only on dec. 9th, more than 2 weeks later. The site says it was fully shipped but the package was missing an item. I opened a ticket on their site but, like many others, I can't get in touch with these guys.

I will probably have to escalate the problem with Visa

Fraud and Scam. Never buy from them.

"Purchased 15 mp3 players from Direct Canada, for an adolescent group home we buy gifts for every year. Order was put through and arrived a few days late, which didn't bother me. What the problem was, the invoice stated that it had 15 units in the box, but when i opened it, it only contained 9. Multiple "tickets" and emails have been sent with no response.
The phone service is exactly as it is described by other reviewers, you are put on hold in sequence (your are caller number 9 or 12 or 17). You wait 15-30 min and then you get to speak to an automated response that says no one can answer your call, please email them. This company appears to have been decent legit at one point and now attempts to defraud/steal from it's customers. Unless i hear from them I will never buy from them again.

Extremely bad service, impossible to contact will take your money and never respond

"As title says. You can use their customer service messaging, but don't expect a reply. You can call them, but you will get disconnected or if you make it to first in line the representative will not be available and yup, disconnected.
If for some reason they don't have your item they WILL NOT contact you, but they WILL keep your money.
You cannot even cancel orders because you can't get in contact with them.
You can't return things, because by the time they arrive (if they do) their customer service policy will have absolved them of responsibility.

But, its the busiest time of the year. This didn't just come up and surprise the whole world, good businesses plan ahead they don't screw over customers to try and make more $.

Very VERY POOR customer service

"On the website they say 1 to 3 days shipping....... nop its been 5 days and still nothing. You can write as many emails as you want no answer......... worst online transaction ever..... They are quick to process payment but slow to send your items. Buy somewhere else"

Good luck talking to these guys...

"Do not ever order from these guys. I was never informed that there was an issue with my order and had to figure it out myself a week later, all my support tickets remain unanswered to this day, and the way they handle their phone line should not even be legal.

When you call, you're put on hold and informed of your position in queue. However, after 20 minutes the system automatically hangs up on you and forces you to call again - putting you in the back of the queue. It took me literally all day to finally get lucky enough to get through the queue in under 20 minutes and cancel my order.

Worst online ordering experience EVER!!!

"Let's just say that there should be less than one star for a rating, because I would have given it to these chumps in a heartbeat!!
On NOVEMBER 13TH, my son asked me for a new power supply for the computer he is building himself, for Xmas this year. The evening of that day, I followed his link to this company and after making sure there was more than enough credit available on my cc, ordered this power supply. Everything seemed perfectly fine until I noticed that my order was still stuck on credit card verification. Where it has stayed for over 2+ weeks now even though everything prior to it was checked off as verified!! So I sent them an email just asking what the holdup was on my order? In response I was sent an auto-reply stating that within usually 24 hrs I'd be getting a personal response. This was sent to me on November 27th. Which as of today(DECEMBER 6TH) I have yet to receive another auto-response, nor any personal one. So I called them and even though their message gives the option to press the #2 to leave a voice message, every time I hit it on my dial pad, the same message continued to play. I don't have time to wait on hold for the 'estimated' 14 minutes!!
This company is full of **** and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if most of the positive glowing reviews here are not from employees of this company.
AVOID BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY-DIRECT CANADA!! UNLESS YOU ENJOY GETTING NO ANSWERS TO SIMPLE QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR ORDER.
NOW IT IS TIME FOR ME TO CANCEL THIS ORDER OF MINE AND HOPE I CAN FIND A REPLACEMENT WITH AN ACTUAL DECENT COMPANY, EVEN IF I HAVE TO GO OUT SHOPPING IN MY CITY.

Do not buy from DirectCanada - period.

"Hello,

Placed various orders on Sunday Nov. 27 with 4 diff. computer parts resellers. They all came thru within 72 hours, except for DirectCanada's. This place looks like a real scam.

Within an hour or so of placing my order, the part was confirmed in-stock and my credit card got debitted. It's only at the end of business day 3, Dec. 1st, that the item got tagged "partially shipped". This was just the electronic shipping request placed with the carrier, not the actual pick-up of the part. As of Dec. 6, no change... the carrier has not yet been given the part.

I have tried to speak with a DirectCanada representative on their hotline 5 times with no success on three different days at different times of the day. Enough to see a pattern: after precisely 20 minutes sharp of waiting and being told we are next, the line gets cut. I have also not had any feedback using the preferred written request route as advertised on the hotline after 5 business days. Furthermore, there are a fair number of customers reporting similar issues on their portal since October.

That's enough warning signs...

I have just called back my credit card company to revert payment and have placed an order cancellation with DC - FWIW. Simply the worst shopping & customer service ever.

first order was smooth

"i had ordered a comp. case on tuesday nov 29 and received it on the 1st. very happy with that order. i then on nov 30th i ordered nearly $400 worth the comp components (mobo, thermal compound, power supply and a case fan) said all were in stock even in the email they sent me said they were in stock. i then went to dc order track page and it says 2 of the items were actually not in stock and it seems to be stuck at product availability they had no problem with verifying my funds. i was in a bit of a hurry for this order since i am with out a pc so i am just hoping that i don't end up like some of the other people on here and being screwed over. i will update my review to 5 stars if i get my next order in a timely fashion like the first. we will see how this current order goes if all good i wouldn't think twice about ordering from them again. so far my experience has been pleasant just kinda worried about the reviews i have been reading. wrote a ticket as well asking about the stock issue and have not received an answer back yet and its been 48 hours."

Very Poor Customer Service

"I purchased a Asus MB on Black Friday 25th and it is now the 30th and my order has been sitting in Pending over 3 business days (which I have paid for). Where I get ticked off is that I have called at least 5 times and in 4 of those cases I was on hold for over 30 minutes only to be the next person on line and been told to leave a message. What the heck is going on. Why give a toll free number only to have people wait on the line then have a voice message telling them to leave a message. On the one occasion I did get a person he checked and told me that there was plenty of stock and that he would send me an email the next day after he has talked to the shipping group as to when I will get my order. Well still waiting for his return email a day and a half later!

I order multiple items on Black Friday from various dealers and have received or will receive my items by Friday the latest. Except for my MB from Direct Canada.

They have not even updated there site to provide the latest order update. It still shows the 25th! What is wrong with these guys and to top it off they are owned by NCIX which has better service they these guys. NCIX get your act together with Direct Canada!

At this moment I would not recommend buying from Direct Canada!!

Lying about stock, poor communication, tracking info missing, shipping from various competitiors!

"Terrible experience!

I ordered a vertical mouse and 3 thermal pastes on Nov 4th, all listed as in Stock. Come Nov 13th nothing was marked as shipped and I needed the mouse badly for a wrist Injury. I sent them an online ticket for the order # asking for status. Next day I get an email confirming my ticket asking me to open a new account at Direct Canada (where as I already have an account under my email!)... so dead end. Then I call them Nov 16th as there is no action still, they make up a story that I selected the wrong year on my credit card (which I've never done before), and I never got a notification about it from them! (first question form the support person was if the date on the CC was correct :D ). Anyway, they charged the CC that day, first order came a few days with a tracking number and notice, but it was just one paste from a competitor NCIX. Another day later a second order comes in, without warning, it's 2 other pastes and this time from Direct Canada. Ok so where is the mouse? I called them on the 19th to ask, 0 mins on hold etc, they told me it will ship out soon and that yes I WILL get ship notification and tracking number. Well, turns out the mouse is shipped on Nov 19th from NCIX again, again WITHOUT any notice and tracking... I missed the delivery from Purolator due to that (even though I was home, i was not expecting delivery so i was in the shower.... FFS). Drive half way across the city to finally get my mouse on Nov 23rd.

Does this sound NORMAL to anyone? ;) And no discount for their screw ups, no admittance to wrong doing... lovely.

I've been a customer of theirs for many years, but this is it. No more.
