"Ordered the Canon SX 10 IS - Same story - got a call from "John". First, he confirmed the price at $ 18 higher than the confirmation - claimed that it included "insurance", and then claimed I was getting the wholesale model, with no firmware and that the camera that wouldn't work unless I bought the "retail kit" (charger and batteries) for $ 60.

I told him to cancel the order, replied to the order confirmation e-mail address (****@****) to cancel (with a piece of my mind attached) and demanded a confirmation. Received the confirmation of cancellation within minutes.

Total Scam artists - keep away.

"I put in an order for 2 Canon Powershot cameras. Next day, I have an email to call to confirm order. I asked if batteries, cables,etc. are included and they said no. Having bought several similar cameras before, I know that they come with cable, batteries, storage card, etc. The salesman said that they only sell the plain camera, everything else is extra. This is a ripoff and they are taking advantage of the unsuspecting. BUYER BEWARE."

"I unfortunately made the same mistake as several other people who posted here and decided to make a purchase based on a price that seemed "to good to be true". But I did it anyways since I made a call before hand and the number seemed legit (voice prompts, different department, etc.). The person I spoke with a couple of days ago about the product was rude, but I still went ahead with the purchase anyways since I figured I could bypass all of the sales personnel by solely sticking with an internet transaction. But the same exact thing happened to me the next morning that seems to have happened to every one else who decided to buy from these people - I received an email that instructs me to call to confirm my order. If you read all of the info on their website, its very ambiguous and they seem to have what they are doing down pat. They seemed to be barely keeping their whole operation legal - but I'm sure a thorough investigation might decide otherwise. Don't buy from them!!!!"

"I just ordered a Nikon D40 camera and only after I placed the order online did I check for reviews of the company. Big mistake on my part. So I called right up and the sales person answered without a greeting and when I said that I wanted to cancel the order he asked why and I said I had changed my mind and he remarked back what's the real reason? I said I changed my mind and he hung up on me. I think I am really going to regret this. Hopefully I will be refunded."

"This company is a joke at best, and a complete scam at worst.

I placed an order for a Nikon 18-200 VR lens on Saturday afternoon. Later that evening I came across the horrendous reviews for this company so the next morning I called to cancel my order as soon as the company opened.

The salesman on the phone was rude and totally unprofessional. He tried over and over to convince me to keep my order and to buy a whole bunch of upgrades I didn't need. Then he proceeded to offer me lower and lower prices to get my business. When I still said no thanks, he hung up on me. Hopefully my CC isn't charged in the end.

"I made on on-line order for two Canon camera lenses;
EF 70-200 f/4L USM & EF 17-40mm f/4L USM. I then received an e-mail requesting me to confirm the order. When I made the call, they did the bait & switch thing. First he tried to sell me a 1 year warranty, which I said they already have them. At this point, he proceeded to tell me that these were "Chinese market" lenses and the warranty was not transferable. Then he went on to tell me that the US versions are of better quality (bodies made of magnesium and metal parts). When I asked what the price was for the US version, it was higher then what I would pay at most other retailers... plus the shipping was $90.

I had placed an order with these crooks and Broadway Photo. I canceled both orders and canceled that card. I have just learned of resellerratings.com. I wish I had come here first.

"Dishonest!
The low price for the Sony HDR-SR11 was only a lure. So, they started with the low price, suggested a high end kit, with batteries, extended warranty, filters, chargers, etc. The cost of the kit components, according to their web site was $800, the kit was for $450, same price as the camcorder. I feel for it! What I received was no Sony extended warranty, the lowest grade accessories which are sold at $80 on the web!!! Hugely disappointed at the misrepresentation. Will now have to face the sharks and fight them back and return the stuff!!!

"I ordered a sony sr-11 camcorder for a price too good to be true and when i call before placing the order they say that i will get the order in a week to 10 days, next day i get an email asking to confirm the order and when i do that the guy asks me if i would like to order a battery and an a/c dc charger for the camera and i said well isnt that supposed to come with the camera and he says no , i assume maybe that is the case with the comapany not providing all this stuff with it...then later on i call to ask them if the item is at least new in a box and how soon i would receive it and they say that it is a japanese model does not come with any sort of warranty and will be received in 4-7 weeks time...so i just eventually told the guy to cancel the order....DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE GUYS total rip offs......
they play around and if u dont hear good u r done for....
i am even scared that they have my credit card details and hope they dont misuse it...

"I placed the order knowing that their pricing looked too good to be true. I called them soon after getting their order confirmation and asked for their shipping method and when the item(s) would ship. The sales rep immediadely responded that the item was "out of stock." I asked if BOTH items were out of stock, and he confirmaed that they are both out of stock even though the web site shows them to be in stock. This is obviously just a scam to get you to buy something else. I would stay far away from this merchant. Luckily a friend had tipped me by what he had read here when my wife told him about this great deal I had found. At leats they agreed to cancel the order and ho[pefully I do not see any charges on my Credit Card."

"I placed an order for the HDR-SR11 60GB with Digitals Future. They had a rep call me (who sounded like his highest level of education was 6th grade) to cross-sell me on a bunch of lenses, batteries, carring cases etc. then told me there was no warranty on the product. I informed him that there was no information about this on the website. He said his system showed the video camera as a "grey market" camera from overseas that did not have a US warranty. He wanted to sell me the waranty for an additional $200.00. I told him where he could put it and told him to cancel the order. Do not waste your time with this unethical sleezy company."

"Digitals Future had one of the lowest prices on the internet for canon xsi...about 300 less than others! I should have known right there but I took a chance.
After talking to 2 people and asking them if the cameras are not broken, fake, etc and why the price was so low, I ordered it. They told me that they just have a really good deal going for it.

I did not hear back from them so I called to confirm the order. The person asked me if I needed a battery (all legit canons come with batteries, here they charge an extra $100 for one), if I need a warranty and finally THE question: 'Would you like to upgrade to the American model?'
How much would that model be I asked? That model is about $300 more. Well, what is the difference between the two? Well, the 'European' version is in Japanese, the American one is in English.
I really thought that he was playing a joke on me. I asked why would they sell cameras in the US that are in Japanese? Well, we sell mostly to Japanese customers. Then why don't' you post on your website that unless you speak and read Japanese, you won't be able to use this camera?
I also said 'so you're telling me that when I turn on the camera, it will say blah-blah blah?' He said 'no, it will say yayaya'. I asked him what he was saying and he said 'that means 'welcome to Canon' in Japanese'. That's what my camera will say when I turn it on. I was laughing all day yesterday every time I played that conversation in my mind. Needless to say, I canceled the order!
I don't know where to report them to and if what they are doing is illegal but how can they go to bed each night with a clear consciousness?

STAY AWAY!!!!

"Don't shop here! Just like the other reviewer they called to confirm my order and then proceeded to try to sell me many expensive accessories in addition to the cheap priced camera and when I said NO they told me I had ordered the "import model" that had a 4-6 week waiting period. The US model for $50 extra was in stock.

I recommend B&H Photo.

"I attempted to buy a Sony HDR-SR12 camcorder from Digitals Future. Since the website's features appeared to be mostly "coming soon," I called the company to verify my order, with my purchase of overnight shipping at an extra expense. Note that the website indicated the product was in stock. The customer service representative, Levi, tried to sell me plenty of other items. When I indicated I wasn't interested, he then told me that my order would ship in 4 to 6 weeks. However, if I wanted the package deal for nearly double the price of just the camcorder, then they could ship it out immediately.

It is my interpretation that such a practice is a "Bait and Switch." I believe such a practice is illegal. Whether or not it is, it is my opinion that it is highly unethical. As a result, I had Levi immediately cancel the order. I will not attempt to do business with Digitals Future again.
