"Although the item I bought from Digital Monster wasn't the most expensive item in their stock, they surprised me with a fast delivery. Also, doing an online search, the price for my purchase, a small photo camera, was fair and rather low in comparison to other similar websites. One good delivery, and it's enough to convince me to buy again from this website, as it's clear they treat all their customers with the same proficiency."

"A few months have passed since I made my purchase from DigitalMonster.com. Back then, I did some research on Google and Resellerratings.com popped up. Back then (July 2013) there were only 13 reviews all 5 stars. Now there are 62 and counting with many bad reviews.

My experience overall was good, but here is a WORD OF WARNING. They operate as a wholesaler that buys legit products from other wholesalers, and then resell them to you.

I in particular bought a higher end Canon DSLR (5D Mark iii). Yeah, I know a pretty risky purchase given the price. But that's simply it! The price was easily $700 less than B&H Photo; that's why I wanted to buy here.

I was told over the phone from Mike (sales rep) that I could call Canon with my serial # and verify that it was a legit canon product. That was not true. When I got the camera I called Canon to verify but they said that digitalmonster.com was not on their list of vendors. When I called Mike back to inform him of this he got a little defensive. When he recognized that I wasn't upset, but that I just wanted an explanation he then "told me the truth."

And THE TRUTH IS...the product is real, but they get them through various wholesalers that they cannot disclose neither can they provide warranty info for the products. That's why the price is so good.

So, all in all, I love my 5D Mark iii. Ironically, just checking digitalmonster.com, the Japanese (Magnesium Alloy) body only is now almost $3200. That's $400 more than what I paid, but that's because the price on these buggers is going up based on demand. In fact, B&H has gone up $400 since July as well.

The PART THAT DISAPPOINTED, was that when they said body only...WOW! they meant body only. There was no charger, battery, eyecup, strap, etc. It did however come with the owner's manual.

When you consider that I spent almost a few hundred dollars more buying all of the accessories (especially batteries and chargers), I would almost have been better off buying from B&H, with a legit warranty!

The reassuring thing is that I did buy the extended 3-year warranty, and the warranty company they use is legit. I also insure my camera gear through my homeowners insurance.

CONCLUSION: YOU CAN GET A GOOD DEAL, BUT MAY NOT BE TOLD THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND MAY HAVE TO DEAL WITH A LITTLE BIT OF HASSLE. Just understand that they kind of run like a pawn shop or a car dealership. They buy product, offer 3rd party warranties, and they wheel-and-deal their products. There is (I believe), a 15% restocking fee for opened items as well. I only experienced the upselling for SD cards and a possible lens, but didn't feel that was their main focus. Hope this helps!

"I ordered a D5200 on 8/25/2013. I received a phone call informing me that I had ordered the import only version and to be sure that is what I wanted. I informed the rep that I wanted the USA Model and to cancel my order. Today 8/26/13 a very nice man from customer service called me to say that he would send me the USA version at no extra cost because he wanted a satisfied customer. The Camera is set to arrive tomorrow via FedEx. I'll check it out and update the shipping information once I receive my camera. Overall I am satisfied with Digital Monster. Especially Frank who turned a bad situation into a very positive experience."

"Totally frustrating order confirmation process, non-availability of customer service and rude contact personnel. The only reason they get 1 star is because 0 stars isn't an option.

I ordered a home theatre receiver from Digitalmonster from there website. I expected to receive a electronic confirmation of the order and shipment of my purchase. I was very surprised when I received an e-mail and home phone call requesting phone confirmation of my order. The e-mail included an 888 number and an extension to contact. I tried on numerous occasions to call the number and contact the extension, but was always informed the person was on another line. I waited at times more than 15 minutes with no one ever picking up the phone. I sent an e-mail to the company at the listed site confirming my purchase and requesting an e-mail reply to no avail. I attempted to leave a phone message at the companies 888 number confirming my purchase to no avail. I called the company 888 number and selected the option of talking to a customer service person, but was place on a "you are the next caller" list for 15 minutes.

I finally reached the extension they requested I contact after three days of phoning and e-mail contact attempts. He asked for my order number which I did not have at the time. I gave him my name and purchase date and was placed on hold for 10 minutes. He never got back to me. I called back after retrieving my order number, reached the designated person, gave him the order number and tried to explain my frustration with trying to reach him and the problems I had with the the process. The person told me he had tried to reach me numerous times (twice actually) had no record of my attempting to contact them via voice or e-mail and continued to talk over my attempts to explain my frustration. I finally canceled the order in exasperation and asked for a confirmation of the cancellation. I subsequently have received no confirmation of cancellation either via e-mail or phone.

I have no intention of buying from this company ever again.
