"Well, my experience wasn't quite as harsh as most others that have posted here. I ordered an Olympus digital camera on 8/24/04 at a price that was $100 cheaper than everywhere else. I also heard about Digitally Discovered through a search engine which brought me to shoppingcartusa, and since the reviews were good, I went ahead and purchased - by calling over the phone, not on their website. A salesperson named Jeff was friendly enough but did hard sell the accessories, which I declined. He gave me an authorization number, then tried to sell me the extended warranty for $50 which he explicitly said is a warranty through Olympus, not Mack or anyone else. My last Olympus croaked about a month after the warranty expired, so I paid the $50. He then gave me a different authorization number. He repeated my order back to me and said the product was brand new, in stock and I'd get it in 7 to 10 days. Then I found this website and others and got a little worried I'd been scammed. My tracking # was never emailed to me so I called a few days later and got "your order was shipped the same day, I'll email your tracking info again". But they did have a record of my order with my correct name & address. I still never received any tracking info but after a worrisome 10 days UPS showed up with 2 packages. I opened the first box and it contained my camera, in brand new condition, in the manufacturer's box, but absolutely nothing else - no invoice, etc. The 2nd box contained my invoice and credit card receipt (with the correct amount charged) and a completely different brand new $300 Canon digital camera. On my invoice is a sticker with my warranty registration # and a note that says the warranty card will be mailed out in 6-8 weeks. I read the horror stories on returning stuff, so I figured when my credit card bill arrived I'd check and see if I was billed for 2 cameras and if so I'd sell one of the cameras instead of dealing with the whole return mess. Well, my bill arrived and I was only charged for the Olympus. My warranty hasn't arrived yet and if it doesn't (or isn't a valid warranty) at least I still saved $50 and got a free camera out of it. It was a weird shopping experience and I don't doubt that all the horror stories are true, but mine worked out. I probably wouldn't purchase from them again just for peace of mind.

*Update 4/26/05: Never received warranty, tried to call numerous times and could only get busy signal or put on hold. I've decided to cut my losses and forget about it. I got an extra camera out of the deal, at least. Both cameras were new and work fine. The warranty sale is a scam, however. I won't deal with them again and I don't recommend you do either.

i ordered a vid camera from these guys and they promised it within a week. when it didnt show i called them to get a tracking number and had to fight to keep a live person on the phone for more than 5 seconds. when i finally did they said to email their customer support to get the number, but the email address did not exist. i called back and demanded a tracking number and the rep Kevin told me he would give it to me IF i bought a warranty. soon after that he hung up on me. "Placed phone order to avoid the usual "verification" return call and subsequent upsell. Declined the accessories and the extended warranty routine. Salesman became less pleasant and somewhat hurried to process my order but did so reluctantly. The order was promised to arrive within a week since I reside in a border state from NY. After a week and no delivery I began emailing them. Absolutely no replies. I then began calling. At first they could not find my order and told me to call back the "help desk" rudely hanging up in my ear. No help there either. After several calls I told them to cancel the order. All of a sudden my order was found and I was told it had been shipped but returned to them twice by UPS because no one was home to sign for the package. What a crock. They told me they would email the tracking info. It never came. The package did finally did show more than 2 weeks later. Well after my wife's birthday. Needless to say, the package was refused and returned to them. Now I will have to dispute the charge with my credit card company. No big deal. Been there, done that. Stay away from these guys. I wish I found your website earlier. I found these guys using GOOGLE which brought me to ShoppingCartUSA.com which I believe is a phony front for this company. The Feds should take a close look at this operation. Saty away."

"This company is a joke. Run away as fast as you can! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY, NO MATTER WHAT YOU READ. I am convinced most of the positive reviews are written by employees. My order was promised before I left for a trip, and I even upgraded to an express delivery to be sure. They promised within 5 days, and it took around 15. The customer service is pathetic. They will NOT provide any shipping tracking number, nor will they even email an order confirmation, leaving you completely in the dark. They tried to tell me the hold up was b/c the credit card info I gave them was incorrect. Funny considering the charge was approved the day after I ordered it. I can't stress enough, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!"

"Ordered a camera at a great price, quick to sell me extended warantee. Unfortunetly they were unable to ever provide me with any kind of tracking number after multiple attempts to contact them by phone and e-mail. Terrible Customer Service. Asked to hold 10x, minimum. No one seems to have all the information needed to satisfy customers. This seems to be a trend with many companies. Recieved item in bad shape 12 days later and still never recieved a tracking number. They also closed for 2 1/2 days during the work week with no way of getting any information. Unprofessional."

MORONS,. LIERS, STUPID. WASTAGE OF TIME. Will not even think about ordering with them even if it is free. If you

have to waste your time or unless you are willing to buy accessories from them you should not even think about order anything

at this store. Extremly rude customer service. All the bad reviews are 100% correct. You will feel extremely bad and sick after

talking to them. I ordered a canon digital camcorder about two and a half weeks ago thinking that they are offering the

cheapest. I ordered it to capture my 3 month old. Right after I ordered the next day I got a call from their resentative and he

offered me to buy the accessories. I already knew from reading these reviews. I refused as the prices were ridiculously high.

AFter a little pressure he said that ok I would be receiving a confirmation email by next day. I was happy and thought that

hmmm after all that was not so bad unlike what I read from the reviews.

I did not get any email for the next two days so I called their sales support. The first thing the guy asked me is that if my name

was Patel. And I said no, He insisted that my name was Patel and that this guy has been called with my order number. So I said

well you are printing duplicate order numbers on your website then. Anyway he said that the item is out of stock. I said that you

are still displaying it on your website. He kept on insisting that it was out of stock and the way he was saying it was as if he was

trying to humiliate ne. He was saying "Yes, out of stock... as in finish... out of stock" and then hung up.

Anyway I called them up again, and this time it looks like there was another guy. He told me that it was shipped and hung up. I

was surprised and called them again, and told the guy about what I was told before. He told me that I should call the customer

support. The customer support was equally rude. They told me that it would be shipped on Thursday and an email with

tracking numer will be sent to me. So I was happy.

I waited a couple of more days after Thursday, probably on Monday when I did not receive any email I called the customer

service again. The first thing they say "Order Number?". Forget about "How may I help you". Anyway I gave him the order

number he said "You tracking number will be emailed to you" and boom he hung up. AFter a couple of days I called again, and

the same thing happened. First thing asked "Order Number?" and then "Your tracking number will be emailed to you" and then

boom hang up. I kept on calling them every couple of days and the same thing kept on happening. Never got the email or the

package. I finally called and told the guy when he asked "Order Number?" that please please let me know the true status of my

order. He said it was shipped last Tuesday (I was calling on Thursday), and that he will email me the order number". I was glad.

At least this time I got some additional inoformation.

Anyway I waited but never got the package nor the email as usual. So I called them up again on Monday, and told them a little

harshly that what's going on with my order. Guess what, the guy said the credit card has been declined. I have a credit score of

more than 760 and I pay off my credit card dues every month and that moron is telling me that the credit card is declined,

whereas last time they told me that it was shipped. Don't even think about ordering with them. I would spend $20 more and

get it from somewhere else, rather than ordering with them.

Ordered Canon S60 Digital Camera. Had to call to confirm my order. Also bought what the salesman described as Canon warranty directly from Canon for cameras over $600.00. Asked to for him to send me the warranty in writing, they did not have it. Contacted Canon and have been told that no such warranty exists. Called the store back and was assured that the warranty is from "Canon Corporate" not "Canon Consumer". He also told me that if I don't like it I can just return it.

Received MACK warranty for cameras under $500.00. Spoke with some guy named Brian Peterson. First he tried to send me free CF card, I declined so he told me "Yan, you think like a woman, you make no sense, I am sending you a free card!". When I declined anyway he denied ever promising a Canon warranty, also told me that the warranty is non-returnable. Lucky I am a trader and all my phone conversations are recorded. He did not believe me, so I had to send him the recordings. It took several more calls to have them promise to issue the refund pending the return of the warranty. I confirmed their address before sending it back and I got the package back! The UPS does not have them at the address that they gave me. Could not contact them over the phone anymore, they would always put me on hold. At this point after reading all the negative review at http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2438-p4-s1-d1.html I understood that they have no intention to issue the refund.
So I disputed it with my credit card and got the refund.

DO NOT buy anything from them ! Read all the reviews, they are going to try to cheat you out of your money. Also note that you can get all the accessories that they will offer you for half of their price elsewhere.

"After 3 days of research I finally decided to purchase the Konika Minolta Dimage X50. DD had in stock for $325.00 with free shipping (That should've have been my first red flag) but it was listed on "ShopCartUSA's" website with 31/2 stars. Order online everthing went as smooth as can be. Received email from Jeff to call regarding my order (I began hearing the scary music from Jaws) I called and this guy was beyond pushy! Tried selling all sorts of overpriced garbage! I finally caved in and bought a warranty and extra battery. Something told me to look t5hese folks up, so i went on BBB's website and found 5 complaints. I dug a little further and went on resellerratings.com. WOW i was amazed that a company like this could be in business. I quickly called them back to cancel my order, was kept on hold for 45 minutes finally got someone to cancel, wouldn't you believe 2 days after I cancelled they took the money out of my account. 3 weeks later no camera & no refund. I've got the bank fighting it now. The best advice i can give you is STAY AWAY FROM DIGITALLY DISCOVERED because the only thing you'll discover is that you got RIPPED OFF! "

AFTER CALLING AND FINALLY GETTING THROUGH, I WAS TREATED RUDELY AND UNPROFESSIONALLY AFTER REFUSING THE EXTRAS THEY OFFER. "Listen to the other 100's of people on here and DO NOT buy from these people. I wish I had found this site last week before I ordered from them. Just like everyone else I ordered a camera online and then had an email saying to call "Jordan". He then tried to sell me a stronger rechargeable battery for $59.00 which I reluctantly went ahead and ordered. He told me the total and then said the order would be shipped out the next day. I then received an email stating I'd get another email within 2 business days with the tracking info. Six days later still no tracking number and then I get online and read all these posts from people having the same experience. I emailed them and told them to cancel my order but no one ever answered the email. I then called the customer service number and the guy rudely answers the phone and says "yes?" So I proceeded to tell him I wanted my order cancelled and after giving him my order number he says your order has already shipped from our California warehouse and you should be getting it any day now. He also said they had sent me several emails but they had been returned. That's when I totally lost it and I told the guy he was lying. He asked how would I know that and I told him because that's exactly what you told the 100's of other people that's complained on you. He wanted to know what I was talking about and I told him there's a website with 100s of complaints against you all. He said we ship over 5000 orders a day but I'll check on your tracking #. He put me on hold several times saying they were getting me my tracking #. The final time that he came to the phone he said "they are recalling your order and it's been cancelled in our system. If you receive it just refuse it and you won't be charged a restocking fee". These people are so full of BS. They hadn't shipped that camera out yet and they sure hadn't sent me the emails like he said and he never gave me a tracking #. Avoid this company or you will be ripped off. Hope I helped someone."

"I ordered my camera on 8/5/04 after reading other peoples experiences. I thought I would give ordereding over the internet a try for the first time. I was called that night by a customer service rep from Digitally Discovered. I explained to them that it was a bad time for me to talk because I was on my way out the door to a meeting and was running late. He said " Thats fine i'll just cancel your order then". I couldn't believe what I was hearing and so I took the time to let him know just how unprofessional he was. I asked him if he treated all his customers that way. He then stated that the UPS was there to pick up the camera which was all packaged and ready to go out. Then he said don't you want your camera. I'm just trying to get your camera out to you. He finished talking with me and said I would get my camera in 7-10 days and that I would recieve an e-mail with a tracking number within 72 hours. I never did recieve my tracking number or my camera. I called the company 3 times and was told that the camera was mailed out and I would get my tracking number by e-mail in a couple of days and to just be patient. These people were all rude and unprofessional. I would never ever again order anything from this company. They are very decietful and inconsiderate. I would rate there customer service, sales and company as a whole 0. When I fianally called a 4th time I was told that my credit card was denied because the information was not varified. This is a toltal crock. I don't know how a company like this stays in business. "

"I could go on and on with the top 500 Reasons NOT To Order From Digitally Discovered. Let's go chronologically . . . I placed the order for a Canon G3 online while out of state visiting family. I received two messages and an email saying they needed to discuss the order with me before they could process it. I called and was subjected to a 20 minute, high-pressure sales pitch on the great deals they had on accessories for the camera (an additional $500 in lens, adapters, battery chargers, etc). Thank God I passed on all of that.

The package arrived later than they promised and the camera did appear to have been out of factory packaging and handled (although they had sold it as a new camera). I decided to return it and am now 2 weeks into the return nightmare.

I too have spoken to Brian Peterson who is the supposed head of customer service. I swear he is the only guy who works in the place. Whenever I call, I get the same "we are experiencing high call volume" schpeel and he is the only rep to ever answer the phone. As others have stated, he is rude and the master putting people off with lines like - "I don't have your paperwork in front of me, call me on Monday", "I only process returns after 3pm, call me then", and "I never received that fax, send it again."

I initiated the return within the two week period. After sending and email and talking to Brian on the phone, I still had not received the requisite RMA number for a return. By that time, he informed me that the two week period had passed, and now I had to provide them with a money order for the initial postage and a 10% restock fee to be returned to an address which he refuses to specify until he sees a copy of the money order. Can you spell CROOK!

This is my frustration and list of complaints so far. I cannot comment on my full experience as they have yet to refund my money and I'm having doubts that they ever will.

If anyone puts together a class action lawsuit against these guys, count me in!!!!
