Avoid at all costs

"(TL:DR - their customer service is crap and warranty useless unless don't need your kit for 3-4 months). My 11 month old Sony A1's memory card slot died. They said I could send to sony in the uk or to hong kong. I sent to Sony in Wales and they've spent nearly 3 weeks stringing me along, getting me to jump through hoops about what specific wording Sony have to write on their estimate only to now finally say they never do any fix over £100 in the uk and I need to send it back to Hong Kong where it will take up to 12 weeks. I'm a professional photographer so (surprisingly) need my camera, so I've had to pay the £700 myself, plus very unhappy about the hours and hours I spent talking to Sony and DigitalRev to try and get this sorted. As well as the ridiculous policy, the terrible communication is very aggravating. So, my advice would be to not touch with a barge pole! "

Waste of time. Possibly a scam

"Digitalrev came highly recommended a few years ago, but the company has changed and is awful! They wasted my time, emailed back and forth and finally when I made my order, sent an email back, after deducting the money, to say that their compliance/security department flagged the payment and needed my ID to complete it. This was strange in itself, but after sending it like a dumbazz, they still went ahead and cancelled the order.. I had to make sure my bank got the money back and now worried about what they will do with my ID. The stress and time wasted on this was definitely not worth it. They also bait u in with a good price but make u miss out on other companies deals. Avoid them for sure!!!"

Fuji x100V

"Recently ordered a Fuji x100V from this site. I was a bit skeptical after placing my order after noticing they haven’t been doing any social media post in the past couple of years including their famous youtube channel. On the website, they stated it will ship out in 24 hrs but took them 2-3 days to actually ship it out. However it did get to me by Friday which was only 5days from the day i’ve ordered. It is still very very fast considering it coming from HongKong. Price was about $100 less than retail plus there was no tax. This camera is backordered everywhere in the states and used are being sold for more than retail on ebay which is a bit odd for a camera.
I was a bit skeptical after placing my order and not seeing recent reviews with most recent reviews from 2years ago not being so great but i can say my experience was very pleasant!

I tried to make a purchase from DigitalRev

"I placed an order with digital rev because I am a long term follower of the YouTube Channel, I placed my order but the very next day I got an email to say it had been "successfully cancelled" and would be refunded the money. I contacted them as I was confused as to why the order had been cancelled, I got a response which stated "all order purchases will be processed to undergo a risk assessment. For orders that do not meet our Internal Risk Assessment, unfortunately, these will be cancelled". They suggested I do a direct bank transfer if I still wish to go ahead with the order, This kind of transaction offers the buyer 0 protection and I wouldn't advise anyone to do this. I emailed back and stated that I would not be doing this, the money deducted from my account was in fact being held by them meaning that in effect the money was guaranteed so I could not understand how or why I failed the risk assessment as I paid through paypal (who have already verified all of my previous transactions). I got no response, poor customer service and I would not recommend as a store."

Buyers Beaware

"I bought a high end lens from this online sore - the website showed that the item was in stock and ready to ship in 24 hours. I needed the lens urgently for a project and after comparing other trusted sellers I thought these guys would be the fastest. So I authorized the full payment immediately. Today is the third day and the order is still being processed! I sent four emails to their customer service over the last two days and there is zero response so far. Their system would not allow me to cancel the order either - if you want to cancel - it advises you to contact the customer service and when you send emails to customer service, there is no response! I am just wondering if the other guys who have given five stars to these people are genuine recent buyers from this company with complete absence of professionalism and courtesy. Interestingly these guys claim to be a 24/7 online superstore! What a joke!"

BE CAREFUL

"I have tried to order a bundle from DigitalRev.com and had to wait a few days where my payment via credit card was in "verification". Finally they canceled my order without any comment. This never happend to me in a million online transactions yet, so I reached out to their customer service and this is their pre-defined, standard answer:

"Thank you for contacting DigitalRev Customer Support.
In regards to your inquiry, I have checked your order details on our system and I can confirm that your order has been cancelled by our order processing department.
To protect and safely secure all our online transactions, all order purchases will be processed to undergo a risk assessment. For orders that do not meet our Internal Risk Assessment, unfortunately, these will be cancelled. I am sorry to inform that we cannot process your order at this moment as we are not able to verify your order information provided. At this point, the only method of payment we would accept is via direct bank transfer. We will manually create an order for you once we have confirmation that we have received the funds. This method of ordering will not be subjected to any processing stages and will be dispatched from our warehouse as soon as our accounts department has confirmation of the funds received. If you would like this option, kindly let me know so that I can further assist you.
As for the payment of this cancelled order, we have cancelled and voided the pre-authorized payment that was received. The pre-authorized payment will take approximately 2-3 business days to reflect back to your account (if placed via credit card) or instantly (if paid via PayPal).
If you wish to send the payment via Direct Bank transfer, please let me know so that I may further assist you."

This should set off all alarms! What is safer than a transfer with an insured credit card?! With a direct transfer (like they are offering) you`ll never be able to claim your money back from China...

A little suspect....

"Wanted to buy a Nikon DSLR body. Web-site looks good and having been a follower of their youtube reviews, decided to take the plunge.

Payment was made via a Paypal interface, so that felt secure enough.

However, had no response for 2 days. Wrote to inquire as order status had been "Verifying Payment" for a while.

Finally, had a reply from their Customer Support as follows:

"Thank you for contacting DigitalRev Customer Support.

In regards to your inquiry, I have checked your order details on our system and I can confirm that your order has been cancelled by our order processing department.

Direct bank transfer for an online transaction...who in the right mind would do that? Furthermore, there never had been any issues with my credit card or Paypal transactions before. All this is really a little suspect...caveat emptor.

Canon 24-70mm f/4 lens

"They offer a 1 year warranty, unlike the Canon 2 year warranty that comes standard with all their products. Because the goods are 'import' they are not covered by any Canon warranty. So when your Canon 24-70mm f/4 lens at ~$990 AUD craps itself due to an IS fault, be prepared to fork out $660 AUD for the repair."

Excellent Service To UK

"Bought a Nikon D500 after checking they had stock and it arrived 4 days after payment was made.
Perfect transaction, website status of order progress very accurate and emails whenever a 'significant' step in the order occurred - Processing, shipping, tracking info etc.
Only thing to be aware of is camera didn't come with a manual, so I bought a spiral-bound PDF version from eBay for a fiver.

Grey Market Goods

"So I have been a very loyal subscriber to the DRTV channel, I recently purchased an RX100m5 from Digitalrev online store. When I received the item the box was insufficiently protected and was dented quiet a bit around so no big deal right...

So the original Sony seal was cut opened, there was a missing Sony tag on the camera, they placed a cheap power converter inside and they imported it from China (Grey Market) now, they did not advertise the item is going to be imported one. At this price I could have just purchased it from Sony official store....

I emailed and explained that the product did not turn out to be what was expected, I expected an official licences device from Sony via approved customs.

Anyway they replied to me saying I haven't read the terms and condition properly and said I can fill in a form for a refund, however opened items will risk a 15% charge from refund amount.

I'm extremely disappointed and will not ever shop with them again and I highly do not recommend shopping with them....

I am actually from Hong Kong I can't believe what they are doing, making extra profits from selling grey market imports from China and do not clearly state this on their advertisement.

Please I hope this message gets across to others.

Stay Away - SCAM

"Do not purchase anything from this company. I placed an order for Canon 7d Mark II and paid by credit card thru PayPal as per their website. After few days I received an email saying my order was cancelled without any explanation. I was able to contact DigitalRev by email and was told that their internal security were not unable to verify certain things so they cancelled the order. It was surprising as my Credit Card company as well as Paypal has processed charge and in fact the shipping and billing address was same as well. I buy online all the time without having an issue like this. I was suggested I send them certified funds or wire the funds to complete the transaction. This immediately raised a red flag and I began researching the company and realised other customers having a similar issue. Also there are many complaints about the quality of their products and misrepresentation of items being new when they are refurbished or used. I did contacted my credit card company as well as Paypal and it was verified that my account was credited, This whole experience left a very bad taste and there is something seriously wrong with this company. "

So whose fault was it in the end...!?!?

"I had a mixed experience with Digital Rev, BUT, I'm not sure it was entirely their fault. As such, this review is not to condemn DR but to give you, the consumer, a realistic impression of what happens when things don't go to plan.

So I ordered a lens on the 12th of January. After a few weeks it had not been delivered so I checked in with DR. The correspondence from a lady named 'Amy' was prompt and helpful. She had explained this had of course been passed over to their delivery company, CS Quantium HK.

Things start to get a little hazy now has they had no record of my transaction. Doh. So, something, somewhere went seriously wrong.

Correspondence to 'Amy' remained as did her helpfulness and promptness to reply.

What happened in the end (ten days or so after first contact) was that 30 business days had expired and therefore I was entitled to my money back. If you're thinking DR then took an absolute age to return my money, you would be wrong. This was credited back to my account in less than 5 working days.

So, despite not ever receiving the item (has of now), some 6 weeks later, I was impressed with Digital Rev's handling of my case and I would especially like to thank Amy for her persistence in trying to help me with this matter.

I accept that this time, I was unlucky - which has to happen to everyone at least once in their online experience.

Could Not Be Better

"I had a great experience. I ordered a camera lense and later that day decided I wanted a different one. Emailed them to change to the more expensive lense. They wrote back that I had to first cancel the first order and then order a new one all over. I did. The camera lense was delivered in three days from Hong Kong. Exactly as ordered and cheaper (by $150.00) than any where else. The operating instructions for the lense is in Chinese or Japanese, but I can get the information on the internet. The lense is brand new and works perfectly."

"I understand people giving lots of positive reviews for the company and granted, if you don't have a problem I'm sure they are great.

BUT, if you do have a problem, expect disinterested customer service who don't respond to what you are saying. My item has been marked as returned on the tracker for over a month and I am still waiting for them to credit my account.

The communication stopped once my item had been returned to them and I am left out of pocket because of it. I am currently going through the process of raising a dispute with my credit card company.

I could not recommend them less, maybe they are slightly cheaper than other companies, but the time I have put into trying to resolve this is just not worth it.
