"Internet folks - if you want to be insulted, deal with "bait and switch" group and rude people, order from DigitalDealz com. Before Thanksgiving, I ordered a Sony Digital camera for $604.00. With my order, I received a confirmation number; according to the confirmation, I should receive my camera in 8 to 12 working days. After a week, I called customer service to find out the status of my camera. After leaving five voice-messages, and six e-mails, I got someone to call me back (it took nine days for a response!). I asked the Customer Service Rep about my status of my camera, after putting me on hold for 12 minutes, he told my camera wasn't available. I then told him that I talked a fellow named George who assured me that it was in stock when I ordered it. He then put me on hold for another 8 minutes. He came back on line and said, it was a mistake and if I wanted the camera before x-mas, I would have to buy the x-mas package which was another 150 bucks. I said no, please ship my camera...pause, "if you want this camera before x-mas,
you need to order the x-mas package camera." After a few words, I asked to speak to his supervisor, "I am the supervisor"! I then told him, it was poor-business practice to bait and switch products - his response was, "I have plenty of business and he didn't need my business" and HUNG UP on me!!!!
So buyers beware... .

"I order a camera and was waiting for the email message telling me it had been shipped as they said in there add you would recive the camera in 7 buisness days.
After 4 days I called there toll free number and was told I needed to talk to some one in verification to verify my order.
The sales person asked me why I had not ordered one of the starter kits as I was going to need the idems supplied in the kit. My answer was I wanted to get the camera and then deside what I needed. The sales person became rude and very persistant that I buy the starter kit.
Then the sales person asked me if I wanted the camera befor Christmas and I said I did and then he told me if I did not buy the starter kit my order would not be filled untill after Christmas if it was filled at all. So I asked to talk to the sales persons supervisor and he told me he was the boss. I then told him to cancel my order and told him I would not do buisiness with them again. He told me they had more customers than they could handle and they did not need my buisiness.

"this company lists products at amazingly cheap prices. You will get an e-mail stating that you need to call them for confirmation. When you call they try to sell you accessories for the product that you want. If you say that you don't want the extras then you get notice of oh were out of stock of this item. And they have miraculously won't be getting that product in because they have upgraded to a new model and it is considerably more expensive. I placed an order for an Olympus c-720 for a price of $325. When I refused the extras the price on the website was quoted to me at $390. Stay away from these crooks. "

"I ordered a camera from this company. They tried to sell accessories. When I failed to purchase additional equipment, they told me it would be back ordered. Now almost 8 months later, the item is STILL on back order. I've reported them to the FTC for unfair business praUnable to get camera. It is still on "backorder" status. WHATZUP???????????"

"I placed my order with DigitalDealz.com for a digital camcorder. After recieving a confirmation e-mail I contacted them for veryfication purposes.

Unfortunately i did not memorize the name of a person I was talking, but this operator asked if I have a KIT for this camcorder. I answered -"No, and I do not need one". Again he pressured me to purchase a kit for this camera. My following "No, thank you" seemed to upset him, so he asked me what am I going to do with the camera, that maybe I want to frame it and screw on the wall since i cannot use it without the kit. For an answer I tried to explane that I need this camera to simply play back the footage for a documentary i am working with at this moment. This was also my reason to choose the cheapest digital camcorder available at this moment.
For an answer I got from him-"You know lady, I dont like people like you! I will not sell you this camera!" Shaken and confused I asked him to definately cancel my order. He was raising his voice even higher and said that there will be a cancellation fee for $90 charged on my credit account. Helpless, I said that he cannot do this! He replied that yes, he can, becouse he already charged my credit card.

Now very upset I hang up on him to dial to my credit company. But he called me back before i could find the nomber I needed. He was yelling, insulting. I cannot remember most of it, I tried not to hear.

I am not adding any to this story to make it more colofrul - for a moment I even thought that this must be some freaky crank-call or joke, that maybe i should start laughing before they reveal it?

I closed my credit account immidiately, wrote explination to credit company and sent a copy to DigitalDealz. I was never charged.

It is too bad that we cannot do more than just wait for them to run out of business!

"I purchased a digital camera on-line from Digitaldealz.com ("DD") on 7/23/2002. Before purchasing, I telephoned DD to confirm item was available and was a USA model and then placed my order via the internet. A confirming fax for order 43270 and receipt were received. An e-mail asked to confirm my credit card information. After providing it via telephone and I was told the order was complete. After being transferred to shipping, I was told by "Larry" the last camera was sold earlier that day and that it would take two weeks for mine to be shipped ‘directly from Nikon.” When I complained, Larry offered to ship it for free in two weeks. I telephoned Digitaldealz.com on 8/2 and was told Larry canceled my order on 7/23. I e-mailed a copy of my receipt to DD demanding that the order (42370) be shipped as promised. When I got no response to that e-mail, I sent it again on August 4. On August 5, I received an e-mail from Digitaldealz.com informing me that “the item [I] purchased is currently on back order.” That e-mail also indicated that the order (42370) will be “processed as soon as the products become available again.” I e-mailed Digitaldealz.com on 8/5 asking when I could expect the camera. I received a return e-mail indicating that my order had, once again, been canceled. I have copies of all receipts and e-mails to support this complaint. DigitalDealz.com still advertises this item on its web site (although for a slightly higher price). I will be happy to answer any questions, or provide documentation of this deceptive practice. These people should be avoided! Digitaldealz = Digitalsleaze."

"I placed an order with them for an Olympus E-20n. They followed up with a personal call pressing for sale of accessories. I had ordered genuine Olympus accessories from another vendor. However, "John" assured told me that they had a large volume of Olympus lenses to sell and could beat the other vendor's deal. I agreed to buy the Olympus lenses from them at the lower price and confirmed the items over the phone by Olympus part numbers. I also agreed to buy a genuine Olympus extended warranty.

I checked the web site later and found that my order was listed with prices only. No part numbers or descriptions were displayed to validate my order. Weeks later, when my order finally arrived, I recieved three no-name products of similar function, but not the Olympus parts that I had ordered.
When I called to work this out with the sales manager, he accused me of trying "get something over" on him, saying it all sounded "fishy" to him. He refuses to take the parts back without a restocking fee.

Also, after weeks of delays and several calls, they repeatedly lied to me about products shipping.

This is the short version of a longer and uglier tale. Learn from my experience and avoid this company.

"Placed order on website Sunday evening Jun 16 2002, got confirmation email Monday late morning saying I must call to confirm order.

Called ***-***-**** option 5 at 1:20pm EDT, got Derek, he asked if I had talked to anybody else yet, I said no.

Then he went through verification of order# and address, then asked if I knew about Sony instant rebate on battery, then asked if I need anything with the camera. I said no, I already had another camcorder and also that their site didn't have any of the accessories I needed.

Script style, he then offered me the 4 year warrantee for $149, I politely said no thank you. He then said checking warehouse for availability, about 10 seconds later said have none. I expressed surprise, as website said in stock, so I asked was that because I didn't buy the warrantee? He replied no, but "that didn't help your case," he apparently didn't like my comment. He then repeated none in stock, I said you mean none in stock for me. He then politely tried to get off phone as soon as possible, have a good day or something like that, I never raised my voice, but wow, the nerve.

Sorry I ever trusted this company with my credit card #, lets hope no charge of any kind ever shows from them.

Their price was $24.95 for cheapest shipping FYI (8 days or something like that), which I had chosen. Next option was above $70, danger sign right there. Oh well.

Just hoping to help somebody else that finds their extremely low quoted prices hard to resist

"I attempted to use DigitalDealz for my first online camera purchase (Olympus C4040Z). I saw their low price of $499 on pricescan.com and thought I'd save a bundle over purchasing local. I ordered the camera online on May 5 from the DigitalDealz webite and it says the item usually ships in 7 to 10 days. I get a call after 8 days and it's a saleman who is trying to hardsell me on overpriced off-brand accessories. None are less than 3 times the price I would pay locally. I politely refused all of them and then the salesman tells me the camera is out of stock and they don't know how long it'll take before they get more. I cancel the order because I need it for a special occasion on May 26.

Almost 3 weeks later, I see that they've lowered the price on the basic camera from $499 to $468, so I call them up figuring they must have the camera in stock since they're lowering the price. Wrong. The camera is still out of stock, it's just a scam to get their name listed as having the lowest price.

"Called to order SONY DSC-F707. I was told the camera was in stock, but when I called back a few days after I placed an order I was told it was back ordered. Even though they advertise it as "IN STOCK". Called back a week later:
Me: I want to check on my order...
Rep: Name/order#
Me:
Rep: It's on back order.
Me: When do you expect it in ?
Rep: In about 5 months. What item is it?
Me: How can you tell me it's on back order if you don't even know what item you are talking about ?
Rep: I can read people's minds.
Me: That's great, please cancel my order.
Rep: Hung up...

Final Note: Unless you plan on purchasing $200 - $300 worth of overpriced accessories (64MB MMC for $129) forget about your order. STAY AWAY !

"I placed my order for Sony DSC-F707 on 3/20/02; received e-mail confirmation that day. They left answering machine message to call & verify credit card info. When I called they asked if I wanted to purchase accesories; I replied I could only afford camera. Rep said "backordered; will ship in 2 weeks." That was nearly 3 months ago. I've sent 6 e-mail queries with no response.
THIS IS A TYPICAL NY SHYSTER, BAIT & SWITCH MERCHANT. If you do not add overpriced items to your order for their lowball camera YOU AIN'T NEVER 'GONNA GET IT. I would avoid this merchant like the bubonic plague. In fact, numerous online purchasing experiences have led me to this practice: before I order I check their physical address. If it's in any NYC borough I don't place the order. 'Tis a sad, but well-earned stereotype. The majority of NYC computer & photo merchants are shysters.
There may be a couple honest ones but I don't have the time to sort through them.

"Placed an online order for a Sony DSC F707. Since there was no *stock* check on the web page or my e-mailed invoice, I contacted Digitaldealz directly, besides the invoice said "You may be required to contact the verification department to assure the validity of your order." so I thought I would just assure myself that all was well. I called 3 times and got a voice message and was automatically disconnected after about 5 minutes of being on hold. This did not give me a warm-fuzzy feeling. I did a quick web search,found Biz-Rate had de-listed their products. Sent them an e-mail asking for assurance that my camera would be sent and wanted a reply (by their own policy) within 24 hours. Called later that day, was able to speak to a customer representative, was assured that the camera was in stock. Was transferred to a "sony" specialist who also assured me that the camera was in stock, and, Oh, BTW would I like to purchase $400 in accessories and warranties. I said no, was only interested in the camera at this point, but would entertain doing business with them at a later date if this transaction was successful. I was assured that the camera would ship within 24-48 business hours (really, hours) The following day, over 24 hours later, no reply to my e-mail, called the store, and guess what, camera backordered. Cancelled on the spot. If one had read all the bad experiences from consumers, one could have easily predicted how this would turn out. At $300 below MSRP, probably not possible for them to sell it at a profit as listed for $695, so they will make up for it with over-priced accessories. If they don't sell you, backorder it goes, probably waiting for you to get fed up and cancel it. *Stay Away*"

"Online ordered Canon ZR50mc, with filter and tape on 4/12/02. Received "email verification" to call them on 4/16/02. Spoke with sales guy who said that I would only get about 20 minutes of filming out of the battery that comes with the vidcam and I should really get the extended life battery. I told him that I eventually might, but this is all I am ordering currently. He said, OK, you should see the camera in 4-6 weeks. I asked if they have the camera in stock and he said yes. So you have the camera in stock but since I am not getting any of the higher priced accessories I will have to wait 4-6 weeks? He said "This is a hot item and others have priority over you." I told him that does not work for me and cancelled the order right there. This is not a legitimate business. BUYER BEWARE. If they treat the customer this way on the sale, think of how they will treat you after they have your money."

"4/9/02 Just called to talk to John at DigitalDealz this morning around 9:00AM and then placed an order over their website for the PowerShot G2.

Received a verification email around noon; called DigitalDealz to verify the order around 3:00PM; talked to John again over the phone. He suggested me some accessories (battery, Case, etc..) which I already had with my previous G1. (Note that G1/G2 share the same accessories).
He informed me that the item is back-ordered for 3-4 weeks. It's OK with me to wait since I already have my G1.

John was nice and not try hard sell me anything.

He said he will process my order as soon as we finish our conversation.

John seems to be a decent saleman.
He is understanding and polite.

So far so good ! Just wait and see how the rest of the story goes.
