"Similar experience to everyone else. Place an order on July 14 for two wall sconces that were supposedly in stock. My credit card was charged immediately. Received an email saying order was processed. Two weeks later, no update. Reached out and was told 2 weeks. This continued every two weeks for two months. At that point calls were being directed back to the website. Emails were not being replied to within 24 hours as stated by them. My online account logged me off every time I clicked for more info. I disputed the charge with my credit card and got a credit. Shameful business practices."

" I have the same complaint that nearly everyone on this website has about this company. We ordered a chandelier from this supplier. They took our payment and our card was debited. We waited and waited to get our chandelier with repeated promises of "to be shipped next week" but it never arrived. Finally, we cancelled the order, filed a complaint with our credit card company and await our refund. I am going to consult with the F.T.C. to inquire about filing a formal complaint."

"I have been waiting four weeks for a dining room light. I have been given three supposable shipping dates. Many phone calls and emails have gone unanswered. I am hopeful that they will deliver my 500 dollar light but am beyond frustrated at this point. I told them they have until Friday to deliver the light or I will contact my credit card company."

"I was a bit nervous to place an order with Designer Supply House after reading the reviews. I decided to give them a chance, since the prices were great and worst case scenario, I can always get my payment back if necessary. The order went went. It took longer then I anticipated to be delivered to me but the products showed up exactly as described and were packaged really well. I would shop here again, but will order a bit earlier in advance. "

"This retailer is horrible to deal with. They advertise low prices, promise shipping within 7-10 days, then charge your credit card immediately and never send the merchandise. When you try to call, there is no way to get through and no one answers the contact form emails. I got no response until I submitted a dispute to my credit card a month later. Even at that time, they never contacted me, but sent a generic email from another company with a tracking number. Do not do business with this company it is not worth it"

"I would order from this site again. Great prices. Good communication. When I asked about when my items were going to be shipped, I received accurate information. You just have to be patient. This is a warehouse site, so it takes longer for them to get the items."

"I had the same experience as the other reviewers. I wish I found this site before ordering!! The good thing is I used paypal. I did not receive the product after 2 weeks and followed up with phone calls and emails. While on hold with paypal, I googled for reviews. When the paypal rep answered I explained the situation and she cancelled the pending transaction. The moral of the story: check out any new vendor BEFORE you purchase."

"I wish I had checked reviews on this company before I ordered from them. I ordered a ceiling fan on 5/19. They sent an email confirmation but I never received a tracking #. Today (6/12/14) I called their (800) # to check on the status of my order but was disconnected each time. I then called AMEX to dispute this purchase and explained the circumstances.

A full star rating would be too high to rate this company. This site should allow for a zero rating on companies like this.

These guys are crooks! Don't be fooled by their low prices. Pay extra from a reputable site and get what you ordered.

"If you spend your money with Designer Supply House, consider it gone. I purchased 2 sconces for $368 and change. They were quick to pull the money from my Paypal account but I could never get them on the phone to ask where my order is. I sent emails. No answers.
I'm left now to try to work this out through my atty. generals office.

I wish I'd taken 5 minutes and searched their company name before I purchased. Don't buy from them.

"BEWARE!!!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ordered a lamp 9/01/2013 (1st mistake of this transaction). My account was charged and $ withdrawn (Paypal - 2nd mistake of this transaction). A few days later I received a call that it would not be in unil Nov. I (stupidly) said I would wait. November came and went - no lamp. December their website indicated it was in stock so I called. They said it would be in mid December. We agreed to a delivery the week of 1/06/2014. I received the lamp 1/09/14. 1/13/14 I emailed the co. to let them know the light was defective - no response- emailed again 1/15. 1/16 I received an email from Larry K. to tell me he would start the return process and asked me to send pictures - which I sent. 2/08 I emailed them for confirmation they received the pics - 2/10 I received email saying they did get them and he, Larry K., would request an update. I do not know from whom he had to request the update. 2/19 I requested another update, the same day received an email to let me know there was no update. That is when communication stopped. Since then I have emailed them twice - no response. I have also called. To call is a complete waste of time. Each time I was on hold for 30 minutes. I called the sales line and customer service. I strongly suggest you DO NOT ORDER from this company. If you do order from DSH do not pay via Paypal you can forget Paypal promise for buyer protection. BEWARE!

3/06 filed a complaint w/BBB New York and FTC. BBB has contacted DSH - waiting on response. Not really expecting DSH to reply. DSH has a grade of F with BBB.

Update: 4/21/2914 I received replacement lamp from Designer Supply House. IT DID NOT WORK! Contacted DSH next day and requested full refund upon return of the lamp. 5/23/2014 received return label. 6/03/2104 (9 months and 2 days after my initial order) the lamp was delivered to a company called Bath Kitchen Decor. Today is 6/15/2014, I have not received a response from either DSH or BKD or a refund. 6/10/2014 I received an email from BBB NY informing me that their agency could not resolve this issue because the mail they sent to DSH had been returned and my case had been closed.

"On Feb. 13, 2014 I ordered and PAID for two identical products online and received confirmation email stating an email would be sent upon shipment with tracking number. I received no such email. I called Designer Supply House on Feb. 20, 2014 and spoke to "Maria" who stated that item would be shipped in a few days. NO email was received with shipping/tracking number. On Feb. 27, 2014 I again called Designer Supply and spoke to "Crystal" who said 'items should be shipped by Monday.' This business is a ripoff. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Even if they do ship, their customer service and attitude in far below what consumers should receive. If I do not receive an email by Monday March 3, 2014 with shipment tracking number, I will contact my credit card company and contest the charge.

Do yourself a favor, don't even think of buying from Designer Supply House 2918 Ave J, Brooklyn, NY 11210.

"Have had the same experience with this company. Absolutely horrible. Was having work done to our house and ordered my dining room light through DSH because it was $100 cheaper than anyone else. I specifically called the company to make sure that the light was in stock (as it indicated on the website) and how long it would take me to receive it. I was told it would be in my possession in two weeks. Ordered the light, my account was charged, two weeks later - no light. Called and was told I would have it be the middle to end of the following week. Fine. Week and a half later, not light. Called again...got the same response. Waited, no light. Called after another week and was told that it had shipped from the manufacture and they expected it either that day or the next (which was a Friday). Called back that following Tuesday and was told it would be another 10 days. At that point I said I wanted to cancel my order and get my money back. Got an email that my order was cancelled five minutes later. Four days later, still no credit to my account. Called them again and said I wanted them to process my credit RIGHT NOW.

I partly blame myself because I should have done my homework on this company before I ordered. But I have NEVER had a problem ordering something online before until now. It definitely was not worth saving the $100. Now, my house remodeling project is done, the contractors are gone, and we have a hole in the middle of our dining room where the light should be. Unfortunately, I cannot order the light from somewhere else until I get my money back.

"I found this site before I ordered anything. Good thing too! If you map their location it looks like this operation is run from an apartment above a drug store in Brooklyn NY. You'd think from all the money he is making, he could afford a better place. Buyers beware."
