"I bought an Albea Orbea 29" MTB at Competitive Cyclist last December. Shipping was fast and package was delivered undamaged. Quite impressed... Nice filled in Quality Control Checklist. From there it went quickly downhill. At the first ride I noticed that my front derailleur was jumping, my crank got loose and my chain damaged immediately my frame. Called customer service and got the reply to go to a local dealer to fix my bicycle... Tightened the crank and went for a ride... Same issue... Tightened the crank and again same issue... After 6 months all the spokes of my rear wheel broke during a ride... After 9 months the chain issue came back up. According to Customer service its all wear and tear/ servicing. Well, I use 3 other bikes (ie. Giant, Specialized, Marin...) for years and they never showed alike issues within 1 year (Yep, I do understand wear and tear and do service my bikes). Stay away from Orbea and far, far away from Competitive Cyclist for your purchases. Suggest to follow their Customer Rep suggestion to visit a local bicycle dealer. "

"I placed my order last 14th April 2014, until date there is no tracking information available, I am speaking with their chat representatives daily and all of them are telling me it was shipped two days after I placed my order, to date which is nine days from the day I placed my order I am still waiting, who will believe that it will take more than one week for UPS to ship from US to Qatar?"

"I used Google Shopping to find a specific vendor for a specific part.

Competitive Cyclist listed an item for sale on their website. 24 hours after ordering, I was informed they do not have the item in stock nor can you order it from your vendor. They sold an item that no longer exists... They then proceeded to attempt to sell me other parts instead. I didn't come to their site looking for another part.

This is the rub:It seems they leave old listings of old inventory up on their site on the hopes that I will use google to search for that old inventory and stumble in their site. Then when they don't have the part I was looking for they quickly offer another.

They are still selling that non-existant part on their site 5 days later.
This is beyond bad inventory tracking. This is purposeful negligence.

"I purchased 4 Pinarello bikes (one over $6000.00) and another $3K in gear in the last six months. That's right; I purchased over 10K in six months. Guess what happened when I tried to return one pair of bib shorts with tags still on and a Capo jacket whose zipper broke on the 2nd ride.
They sent me the same box back with the same items with a note that I was too late to return or exchange the items in question. That's right. No Returns for me!

"I just bought a $4400 bike from Competetive Cyclist. I thought their customer service was great. Initially, I was going to custom build my bike, and the sales rep (Jesse) was very helpful with tips and suggestions to make sure I got the right fit on the bike frame, and suggestions on which wheels to include. Then, I saw that the bike was going to be matched with the Campy Chorus 11 group, and liked that so much that I changed my order. No problems at all! Wheels that were supposed to be matched with the Chorus group were backordered, so Jesse suggested a replacement pair. He also reassured me that the bike would come set up and adjusted, which was a big concern as i'm not a bike mechanic. The bike was as promised, even better than I hoped. It was packaged well, was beautifully put together, with just the addition of the pedals, wheels and handlebars for me to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another bike from them again."

"Bait and switch tactics. I subscribe to their emails, got a great sale email. Went to the website, item in stock. Placed my order, got a confirmation email on my order. The next day I get a email saying "I’m sorry, but the Zipp 404 wheels we you ordered sold out before we were able to fill you order. Ordinarily, our website is set up so that it won’t let you place a web order in a situation like this, but due to the high volume and rate of sales of this wheel, the website did not update quickly enough to prevent your order from being placed. This was a closeout item, and we don’t expect to get more of the wheels available from Zipp at this price. I apologize for any inconvenience.
I would like to offer you the Reynolds DV3K as an option for $850. We’ll be offering this wheel deal on Friday so I can get it ordered for you ASAP before the sale is announced"
Have spent over $1000 with them in the last year, not ever again. Spoke with their customer service which has no intentions of making things right. There are other online retailers that will be glad to get my business. They are owned by backcountry.com I sent a email to the CEO of backcountry.com and will see what happens. If they make things right I will repost the results, if I dont then spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

"Simply WOW!
I have made numerous purchases from Competitive Cyclist in the last few months, each time the orders were shipped the same day. They have even upgraded my shipping twice for free to faster service when the ground delivery date would be to late.
I had to return a defective item once and the exchange was handled flawlessly. They even included a partial refund due to the slow replacement of the item from the manufacturer. It was not their fault at all but they still provided this, I did not ask for it. I spent that refund at Competitive Cyclist the same day.
Their prices are not the cheapest on the web, but their customer service and friendly & helpful staff more than make up for saving a couple of dollars.

"I ordered a lower link for my SC Blur bike since SC website is out of this part. Competitive Cyclist has this part in stock, but their price is much higher than manufacture. I asked for a discount, they giving me a 10% off...Cool! Fast shipping too! Good experience overall."
