Use caution when purchasing

"I was searching for an item and these guys had it for a decent price.
Website stated " you are a first time buyer so, we sent an email with a code for free shipping".
Well.......I proceeded to add the items to purchase, it instructed me to go to check out, wanted my CC info which I supplied and them "BOOM" thanks for the order. Absolutely no place to put in the "so called FREE shipping code".
I immediately emailed them to cancel my order if I can't take advantage of the free shipping.
After a couple of hours, I figured I had better call them and put a halt to the order. When I talked to their rep, they stated I could not cancel the order via email, I was supposed to call within 16 minutes. "All that is explained in our policies". ( well most reputable companies, I have never had to read the entirety of their pros and cons. Especially for a $25 item.)
When I explained to them that I had emailed immediately after placing the order, that does not matter, I was supposed to call. And besides I did not meet the $50 minimum order????? There is a new twist. As we got further into the conversation, NOW she states that item did not qualify for the free shipping. What???????
If you want to feed me a line of BS at least keep to your script.
I asked for a refund and a return shipping tag and she tells me I am responsible for return shipping.......

I have instructed my employees to never, never use Cleanitsupply no matter what kind of a deal they have because they change the story on you. Let's dangle the bait, set the hook and then tell you stories on the "deal".

Maybe that is how the East Coast works, but definitely not how we approach business in the Northwest and Midwest.

Poor Communication

"Order was placed on December 21st and received January 9th. I reached out to customer service several times, after the winter holidays, to inquire when the items would be shipping and customer service was not able to provide any information about my order.

The website shipping policy states that "Typically orders that are placed over the phone or through our website are delivered within 1-7 business days within the continental United States." My order was shipped 9 business days after placing the order and was delivered 11 business days.

When using the automated "Track My Order" service on the website, I would receive an error message from UPS when inputting the order number and zip code.

I understand that the holiday season can present unexpected delays, but the lack of communication was very frustrating. The frustrations could have been avoided had there been clear communication and had the customer service team been able to provide shipping related updates when the website Tracking service was not working.
