"This guy is a jerk. I ordered, he didn't deliver, and then decided to close shop. It has been going on five months with no resolution. He said he would credit me back, and didn't - claims that his merchant company won't let him. Then he sends an email saying - Well, I'm trying to be nice, but I could file chapter 11 and not pay any of this back. What a loser. My credit card company is going after him right now."

"I purchased several Star Wars action figures in December, for my son, for Christmas. It is now March 3rd and I still have received nothing. My credit card was charged immediately upon placing the order and I have been trying for months to get something (preferably a refund) out of this company. I was told by e-mail that they are going out of business, though their web site is still active. I am extremely frustrated by this whole experience and will think twice about ordering over the internet again.My son thinks that the whole thing is a scam run by some kid out of his basement & I tend to agree."

"I ordered 3 Star War Action Figures as part of my 5 year old grandson's Christmas. The order was placed 12-5-05. I have not received anything as of today Feb.21,2005. My visa card has been billed. I requested a credit on my card if they could not deliver the merchandise. I have heard nothing from them. My credit card has not been credited. I tried calling them, but their mailbox was full. That doesn't surprise me. Evidently they are dodging the customers. I am a senior with limited income and 23.00 might not be a lot to some, but it's pretty much to me.
The worst thing is that my little grandson was disappointed Christmas because I had promised him Santa would bring the action figures to him.

"I ordered my item in December. It is now February and I have not received my item. I have E-mailed them three times asking for the status of my order. I got one response saying it would be the next oder to sent out. That was three weeks ago, and nothing was ever sent to me! Please use this as a warning, and avoid ordering anything from this pathetic company!!"

"I ordered from Chumba Toys back in November and here it is February and I've left tons of messages, sent tons of emails and I still have no product or refund. They were really quick to charge my credit card, but they never respond to messages or make any effort to give you your money back when they fail to send the product. This company is definately committing fraud. On the voicemail it seems to be some kid trying to figure out what to say as his greeting. I wish I'd done my research before hand."

"I have also yet to receive my order. Two months later. And yes, my card was charged the moment I placed the order. These guys are complete rip off artists. They have now told me twice that my order has shipped. Once it was miraculously returned to them. Right. I'm now trying to recoup my losses with either my credit card company or Yahoo Shopping."

"I should have read up on ratings before I bought from chumbatoys. They charged my visa immediately and never sent the items. They have been nonresponsive the whole time, not giving me any explanation other than the one on the website that says they are behind in their shipping. It has been over a month without a sign of the items or a refund. I will not purchase from them in the future and advise the same."

"It may be a while before I buy something online again.

I placed an order 29 days ago, and even though my credit card was charged the day I placed the order- I still have not received the items ordered, which are guaranteed on the website to ship in "3 business days" or shipping is free (no, my shipping has not been refunded.)

Chumba toys never sent me any kind of tracking information other than "your order has been sent out USPS priority mail." I did receive a confirmation number, but it apparently means nothing as I have left it on several phone messages and emails and not one of them has acknowledged it.

I have emailed customer service six times with only one response which seemed automated.


I still have nothing. Never have I felt so helpless as an online buyer. They have a support email address and a phone number that you can leave a message on (but not reach an actual person) which must be rarely (if ever) monitored.

Six years of buying various things on ebay from nearly one hundred sellers and never have I been as "in the dark" about something I have bought online. I have bought similar items from other websites, and though I paid a bit more, I had no problems.


In closing, my last email to them demanded a refund, but, like all but one of the others, I still haven't received a response.

Good luck shopping, and if you buy from Chumbatoys , don't say I didn't warn you.

"where to start??

The good

1. carry unique items
2. got what i ordered(eventually)
3. they answer emails

The bad

1. order was shipped incomplete but my credit card was charged full price.

2. took a month and 3 emails to finally get the missing pieces shipped to me.(order date: nov. 10 - final complete date: Dec. 12)


They didn't try an rip me off, but i have wonder about whether the items were ever really in stock to begin with considering how long it took to ship the missing items.
