Great service

"I was fortunate to have two very capable and friendly workers assist me in determining the status of my son's order.
My dealing were mainly with Lincoln and briefly with this Supervisor, Abby. Lincoln got right to the heart of the matter and gave me update information and status of stocked and on- order merchandise. I do a great majority of my purchasing on line, so I have seen the best of customer service and the reverse
Lincoln ranks at the top of my list of professional and customer oriented representatives. We were able to ascertain the status and projected delivery time, which was my main concern. He clarified on-hand and on-order items that would affect my wait time. Abby also assisted and was equally friendly and helpful.
I will continue to put my art needs and those of my son's in their very capable hands. You deserve 5 stars and I am pleased to post this ranking. Thank you Lincoln, it was a pleasure working with you. Warmest regards,

Tired of the Empty Opportunities They Use in Their Marketing

"I 'm writing this as an artist that has worked a lot of non art jobs I did not necessarily like so I could continue to paint. Finally after much frugality and living without, I finally have a nest egg I wanted to use to outfit my dream studio.
My first order was a big one in my eyes. I wanted to pursue portraiture in oils but have always not liked the fumes, So I ordered Holden water soluble paint. One of each color that that they make. If anyone wants to go look up what that would cost, you will find I gave Cheap Joe a substantial order. Anyway , on that order I was promised an apron if I ordered a certain amount. I think I could have qualified for 18 aprons but their code I needed to include with my order would not compute. So I wrote off their apron as probably a no show. And it was.

Now recently I found a special on their website that for every 1 stretched frame of Joe's Prime Linen I buy, I will get 2 additional frames for free! Buy one and get 2 free! Well even though the lowly apron they forgot to thank me with for my business, didn't teach me a good enough lesson, I decided to take them up on this buy 1 get an additional 2 deal! So I ordered 45 /8x 10. 12 /16" x 20" and 12 x 24" x 20". That would mean I get 135? 8" x 10", 36/ 16" x 20" and 36/ 20" x 24". Right? Wrong. I got what I ordered and followed their instructions in their fine print. Stating that to take advantage of this offer I just order all my single canvas price purchases and the free items would be automatically added on.
Now yes I seen the fine print stating "while supplies last" in a disclaimer. But here is my problem with that.
I just received my order today and I went back to their summer sale on their site. The promotion has changed to just a discounted different price. No mentioning of limited supply. So I'm assuming there is still plenty of supply. They still have my free canvases!
I don't know about this business owner, but I've always thought if you bring a business some large orders, the business owner would be grateful for the business that was brought to him. I'm not expecting any special favors. Just honor what you promotion promised in the beginning. Or show documentation as to how your stock run out even when you still have to put same items up on a different sale.
To me this is a bait and switch tactic. Although probably a technically legal one. Maybe. One thing for sure is either Joe doesn't keep up with what sales tactics his people perform on the web, Or Joe is what he claims. He's cheap by weaseling out on his sale promotions.

Had to cancel order

"I placed an order from them and unfortunately had to cancel it because I waited a week for a shipping email and did not receive one, so I emailed support. Support basically told me that the item I ordered was on backorder when on the website at the time of ordering said it was still in stock. Support said changes (possibly damaged stock thrown out) like that are usually communicated to them but this time it wasn't and they were super friendly and helpful. The support team is the reason I gave this review 3 stars but I had to cancel my order since I needed the item soon and they couldn't fulfill it in the time frame I needed.

So TLDR if you are planning to order from them make sure it isn't something you need quickly.

Fair pricing, slow shipping

"I placed my order on 5/23/19. The label was printed on 5/24, but when I went to check on progress on 5/27 it was shown as not yet with UPS. I e-mailed customer support, but by the time they replied, 2 days later, the package had been received on 5/28. I’m guessing that it sat somewhere over the Memorial Day weekend. I finally received the package at my home on Tuesday, June 4th after it sat at the local post office for a couple of days. That’s 12 days from order to receipt. With another company a very similar order took 5 days. This was not a great experience from a time perspective. The order was correct, well packed and protected, just very slow."

Miller's Traditions Gallery Wood Frames

"I bought 3 of the Miller's Traditions Gallery Wood Frames, 20" x 24" size, then didn't end up using them for over a year. They appeared to be identical to Timberline frames I have purchased elsewhere and used a number of times. The wood frame was of good quality, obvious even without opening the shrink-wrapping. But when I opened the Miller's Traditions package, I found that the plexiglass was unacceptably thin. It appeared to be about 1/4 of the Timberline plexiglass thickness. When I put art in the frame, the plexiglass distorts the viewing and is very noticeably wavy. I just spoke with Cheap Joe's. I was told that this is an economy frame — but nowhere on the Web site is it described that way. I was told that it could be a problem if it is used in a float frame (where a spacer is added all around to keep the art from touching the plexiglass) — but nowhere on the Web site is that problem mentioned. And of course they will not give a refund on the two unopened frames, because I purchased them over a year ago. To buy an acceptably thick plexiglass would probably be more expensive than just trashing the Cheap Joe's frames and buying new Timberline frames. This was my first and only experience with Cheap Joe's. I will not buy from them again."

Great Customer Service at CJ's new Asheville store!

"Cheap Joe's hires knowledgeable staff. For example when I wanted to purchase an easel, their staff asked what kind of artwork I planned to do with it. When I told her watercolor and sometimes acrylics, she recommended an easel that could be upright or made to lay flat. Another time I came in to get framing supplies and the clerk helping actually had experience as a framer and could describe all the differences in the various products."

Paid shipping, then drove 36 miles to the P.O.

"Cheap Joe's products are good, and there was no problem with my order. It took about 2 weeks to arrive, because it was caught in the blizzard... ok, that happens.

I was expecting UPS to deliver....(they go by my house), but then got the package delivery slip. I live 36 miles from the PO in the NM mountains... with a narrow winding road, & it takes an hour. So I did get my order.... after driving 72 miles RT to the PO to pick up the package, which took 2 hours! Would have be nice to know it was to be sent to the USPS!
