"I tried to order from them as the price was too good to be true, and it was. They told me that batteries didn't come with the camera and wanted to know how many and what batteries I wanted. I had to tell the sales person 5 times that I was canceling the order. This is a terrible company. Stay away from them."

"Stay away. Fraud. Don't believe their advertisements. I saw a Canon E30D (body only) on their site for $555 and ordered it online. Called them up to verify the order. They told me that I had to order a battery for it for approximately $300 and a charger for approximately $400 or I couldn't buy it. The battery and charger are included in the price from any reputable seller. I can't express enough what a horrible experience this was. Do NOT buy from them."

"Just like all the reviews, except the one giving it 3 1/2 stars, these are scam artist. First the "how you going to charge the battery" line, then "$198 for a charger". Then "OEM package does not include software that you must buy." I cancelled and the guy hung up without giving me a cancellation number or emailing my cancellation. FRAUD, is what it is. Buy at Zoommania.com."

"I saw a good deal for Nikon D50 through shopcartusa.com. The rating about century21electronics.com in shopcartusa.com website is always good. I ordered the camera; Customer Service called and told it is backordered and will take 6wks to ship. When I called back and asked him to cancel my order, Customer Service person was harsh and rude and declined to cancel my order. I waited for 6 weeks. No response/shipping. I called again to cancel. Now, they cancelled at last. Cheating site.

"Do not buy from this company. I ordered a Sony camcorder online from century21electronics because of the great price. I got an email saying I had to call to confirm the order. When I did I was asked if I wanted to buy a charger for the camera. I said "No" and the salesperson replied, "Well, how are you going to charge the camera!" I did not order the charger. I was then told the camera is on backorder and it would be 3-6 weeks before it shipped. The worst is that today we got a call from our credit card company asking to verify nearly $3000 worth of charges to the credit card that I used to order the camera. These were fraudulent charges for plane tickets and a hotel room. This is a card I don't use much and the order with century21electronics is the only time I've used the card for the last 3 months. I called century21electronics to complain about the credit card problem and talked to someone who is supposedly their security person. I later tried to call him back and got an answering machine that gave the message for "J & K Cameras" of Brooklyn, NY. I then read the resellerratings for J & K Cameras and century21electronics and found out there are many different sites that are apparently all linked to the same company and many other people have reported problems with this company. None of the ratings for them are good. This outfit is not reputable. I would advise others to steer clear of this company."

"I placed an order for a Canon 5d body at a price to good to be true. I received an e-mail requesting a phone call to confirm the order. When I called they wanted to add a battery for over $400 and tried to sell me a differnt camera at a high price. They got rude when I did not want any accessories, wanted to charge to change the language from Malasian to English and then told me it would ship in 36 weeks and what did I expect at that price. I sent an email cancelling my order and cancelled the credit card."

"I order d80 camera from this online store since they were listed as the lowest for the body only ($300 less), as same as everybody... it needs a confirmation call and eventually talked me to buy the kit instead. What a dumb customer I am since the total price I paid is 200 more than what you can buy from Amazon or Ritz camera plus they gave me the old lense 18-55 instead of the 18-135 which are advertised. They gave me extra crappy bag, tripod and lense cleaner though :(. Never again and advised not to buy to this cheap sellers. Oh yah, the lense that came is already damaged which came without its box but on a plastic container instead.. Good thing I got from them is the fast delivery. "

"Found a bunch of great comments about this store from "ShoppingCartUSA" which is a false front for stores like this. They only allow positive comments by workers of the store, and the registration process there is an effort to sell numerous ads.

Anyhow, the above showed a low price on a canon video camera by this Century21Electronics, I then placed the order, and received a message about having to call them to "confirm the order."

Spoke to someone named "Vincent", I told them I didn't need any accessories. He promptly gave me a "confirmation" number and I never heard from them again.

"I ordered a D200 and 2 lens from this store at a very good price. After I enter the order, I received a e-mail with instructions that I'm going to receive a follow-up call or I can call the back to the customer rep whose name is Ken. I called back the following day and was told that my order has been cancelled. That's it, without any explanation. Terrible customer service. Totally a scam. But I am still lucky that the order was cancelled before I run into deeper trouble. Now I hope they won't charge to my credit card for a cancelled order.

p.s. When I do a google search on the camera, I found lots of website that priced low very much look like from a same store, or company. I actually called USAPhotoNation too minutes after I was confirmed my order with this store had been cancelled. What I heard on the phone was very much like from the same group of people. But I could be wrong on this.

Please be very careful, better stay away from these guys.

"My story is the same after purchasing the Canoon gl2 for a price of 2172.00 I receive an email from Ken (x283) and he starts talking fast and gets my order up to 3900.00! So he says they wont process this order until mon and he would call me to verify. When he calls I tell him I would like to cancel the order because I feel like I am not getting a good deal. He says to me, "I'm not going to let you cancel the order". So I continue to insist on cancelling my order and he eventually hangs up in my face. So I have contacted my bank and disputed the charges as well as called customer service at century21electronics. Jacob answered and said it will take an hour to find the orginial order. I hope my bank resolves this matter for me. This company is not a honest company do not buy from them!!!"

"After receiving this: We have received your order but for verification purposes please call us at 1800-280-9396 ext 225, Mon-Fri from 10:00am(est)-6:00pm(est)Sun 11:00am-4:00pm in order to process your order. I was asked to upgrade to a "Glass" lens. When I laughed and said no, just send the Nikon lens for the price quoted, he said it would take 6-8 weeks to "process". Bogus offer, bogus prices, bogus company, bogus salesman. Would they sell more if they were honest? They probably discovered that there are always more suckers out there.

"Fradulant advertising on JVC GZ MG505 Digital camcorder. Addvertised 799 for camera and nowhere indicated that it didn't come with a battery or charger. To get those two items had to pay $189 for a battery that JVC charges 149.00 for and Century21 charged $179.00 for the ac adapter that comes with the unit. If that wasn't bad enough they charge $45 for shipping that cost $10 and sent the wrong battery. Instead of the 5 hr. battery they sent the 50 min battery. When I called to have them send the right one, they wouln't until I returned the cheap battery thus rendering the camera useless. I felt hijacked by the company and would rate it as the worst internet experience I have had. Bob Erickson"

"I decided to purchase myself a new SLR camera and ordered the camera from one store and the lens from Prestige Camera. They called me to confirm the order and then offered to match the lower price of their competitor for the Canon 30D camera body. Then the sales rep discussed the extras.

Bernard modified my order over the phone confirming I could get everything I wanted with Prestige Camera and confirmed I would get the same items I requested in a kit. He suggested I buy his gold kit modified for me and save money. He even confirmed it would include a LowePro laptop/camera backpack and the lens I originally wanted from them.

During the order billing process I even call Bernard back and confirmed that I would be getting the 18-200 lens and LowePro backpack. He confirmed I would be getting that. I also asked their billing person Zeo in a fax that was confirmed received that I get a detail list of my order so that I can confirm what was being shipped to me. Bernard later confirmed I would get the invoice within an hour, of which it arrived the next day, after the items were shipped.

The package arrived today and it included the wrong lower grade lens and not the backpack I ordered. I called customer service to complain and ship the items back.

After waiting on hold for 15 minutes, I got to speak to Ron who appeared more of a sales man than Bernard. Ron attempted to exchange and return the lens and offered a discount of $200. Prestige Camera appears to make every effort to bait and switch items to make their profit on re-stocking charges. This was experienced with both the sales man and management of this company.

Ron insisted I was not being fair and reasonable with his offer to make the order right, but after I took each item out of the box and priced it at their competitors, they were over charging me $500.

This is a really bad company to do business with and they like to take advantage of young in-experienced customers.

The entire order is being shipped back with Prestige Camera noting they will charge me the full 10% restocking order though they shipped me items I did not want or order. Their website suggests a re-stocking fee of 5%.

Quote from their website:

“21 days for return or exchange (DIGITAL & VIDEO 7 DAYS) with prior authorization only. Call our customer service department to obtain a Return Authorization Number. Returns will not be accepted without a return authorization number. Returns received by Prestige Camera without a return authorization number will not be the responsibility of Prestige Camera. Shipping and Handling is not refundable! All returns are subject to a minimum restocking fee of 5%. Please be aware that a return authorization number does not constitute any final disposition. After we receive your return, it must go through inspection and then will be assessed for refund or exchange. All returned merchandise must be in new condition and must include all original packaging and printed material in original unaltered condition. Do not write on the manufacturers' box or warranty card. Failure of following these terms will result in a denial of a return or exchange. Cancellation numbers must be obtained from a Prestige Camera representative to officially terminate an order. Without a cancellation number, you are subject to shipping and restocking fees. Special order items including Video Projectors, Televisions and Laptops are non-returnable. Batteries, Film, and Videotapes, which are opened or used are not returnable. "I purchased a Nikon D50 from this store (http://www.century21electronics.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=231981&display=2#)on Thursday May 11th. The next day a member of the staff phoned me up and upsold a warranty and a battery along with the charger. The kit did not come with a battery or charger.
I did not receive a confirmation e-mail and a week later I sent them an e-mail asking about my order. Still no response.
I was wary and did some research online and found that the site might be running a scam. The credit card company was contacted and they said they had had no problems with Century21Electronics and to give it another week.
The order arrived today (Friday May 19th) along with everything it said it would come with (except for the free dvd player they said came with a purchase of a kit).
Everything seems to be working okay.
