"I am impressed with the process and the approach. I do think the price is worth it for the reduced mass mailing that one receives when trying to find a car using internet resources. Carwoo promise is real and it does work as they say it will. I am not sure if i were to do this again that i would use the $99 as i had narrowed it down to only two cars. Also it would be nice if they explained the process a bit more clearly. I bought my car within 3-4 days after listing on Carwoo. However, i kept getting offers for weeks. If i had known i would have been bit more demanding on my counter offers. Overall, i liked the service and the hassle free car buying experience from the comfort of my living room. "

"The customer service team provides you with prompt and detailed attention regarding getting and following up on dealer offers; I couldn't have been more pleased with their performance. Great job.

I do also agree with another reviewer that it seems that comprehensive and competent dealer participation is still a work in progress, which makes the site less valuable when you're looking at a less common make/model. You may also have to have the customer service team help out your dealers with regard to what to do in using the application.

The new dealer rating feature is also only sparsely populated right now. This is reasonable for being so new.

Overall the service exceeded my expectations even though the core offering has some maturing to do.

"Website is quite easy to use. Plenty of dealers participating and interaction with dealers was straight forward. Saved quite a bit over just calling around and getting the best price."

"In my case, I knew exactly the car I wanted and had a price in mind after visiting several online sites. I put my info into Carwoo.com and I got one offer that was a few hundred dollars below my desired price. I ended up getting this vehicle and feel I got a great deal.
When I bought my previous new car, I researched for several days and then headed off to a dealer to haggle. After 10 hours of haggling, I bought the car...drained and still not sure if I got a good deal (the internet wasn't then what it is now). This time I decided to do everything online except signing and picking up the keys. I was in and out with my new car in about 45 minutes...with my blood pressure intact.

"What a great experience! My wife and I were in the market for a Honda Odyssey minivan, which usually sells for very close to list price. We received multiple offers from area dealerships that were very competitive, and all of the bidders with whom we followed up were responsive to our questions.

After we made our final choice, we were able to go to the dealer that very day and pick up our new car with exactly the options we'd requested, and for exactly the offered price, with no hassle and no haggling. We saved over $3000 off the list price. I would definitely use CarWoo again and recommend it to my friends and family who are in the market for a new car.

"Coolest experience ever. I went on Carwoo to buy an Impreza Outback Sport. It was listing at $22k. I get on and the dealers start competing against each other and eventually it gets down to like 19.5. So I pick a dealer and drive down there.

As a bit of a test, I didn't tell the first salesperson that I had already gotten my price guaranteed on carwoo. I tried to negotiate her down but couldn't get her to drop below 20.5! Finally, I asked to see Kevin, the salesperson I had interacted with on Carwood and he gave me the car at 19.5 with no negotiation whatsoever. Awesome.

"Carwoo delivered on their promises -- a wonderful thing these days!

I was able to save a substantial amount of money off the price of my new car and the transaction was completed flawlessly. I couldn't be happier and have recommended Carwoo to several friends who are starting to shop for a new car.

"Carwoo takes the hassle out of car buying. My experience was great! Although some dealers don't care to "wheel & deal" their prices, it won't matter as you'll always have additional offers at hand waiting for your business! I wouldn't do it any other way. Carwoo is the way to shop!"

"I had a really good experience buying my car with CarWoo.
1. Not only did it save me time and money but also you have the peace of mind knowing that you are getting the best deal out there.
2. It also offered me and my friend $200 cash back each as a referral bonus.
I highly recommend their service.

"We had a fantastic car-buying experience with no pain, and we got a great deal, all thanks to Carwoo! A friend recommend that my husband try this new site. We had decided on the make and model we wanted to buy, and were about to start searching for a dealer to negotiate a deal.

Using Carwoo, the dealers came directly to us. We got a great sense of the market value in comparing the various dealers. We even called a few of the other dealers we'd selected in Carwoo but who didn't submit quotes.

Ultimately one of the Carwoo submissions was far better than the rest. We went back and forth just a few times with the dealer, finalized the deal and got the car!

Pick-up was a breeze. We knew we hadn't been harassed or taken for a ride, so to speak. I recommend Carwoo to ANYONE!!

"CarWoo is a service that solicits local dealer bids for a car with your desired specifications. For $49, you get bids on one car. For $99, you get three. The dealers must set a firm price and do not get to see your contact information until you agree to their price. I solicited bids on a Toyota Corolla, Chevy Cruze and Nissan Altima and ended up buying a Corolla through a CarWoo dealer.

The good:

1) Authenticity. The fact that you get REAL bids is the key value proposition. I tried all the other free services that supposedly give you low dealer prices -- Zagg, Edmunds, Consumer Reports, USAA -- and, to a tee, these online prices were never honored after several back-and-forths with the dealer. There were no surprises at all after I accepted my CarWoo offer.

2) Decent bids. Of the four dealers who gave me bids, all bid below MSRP. One even counter-bid to match another dealer's price, which allowed the economic benefits of dealer competition to kick in. In the end, I bought my Corolla at exactly invoice.

3) Hassle-free pricing. It's true that you can contact dealers directly for free, but they will want to play a game of cat and mouse before giving you a price. When they finally do, their first offer will be at or above MSRP. Some will require you to come in for a test drive before they will negotiate. All in all, getting a decent quote for free can be time-consuming. CarWoo is a time-saving alternative.

4) Customer service. Despite the problems listed below, customer service was extremely responsive and resolved everything in a timely manner.

The bad:

1) Glitches. I experienced two glitches with the Web site. First, when adding the Cruze to my list of vehicles, I limited the dealers from the 25 listed in my region to eight local dealers I could easily reach. Yet a day later, I was getting offers from the full list of 25, even those I had not selected. This happened again with the Nissan Altima. Second, one dealer who gave me an offer did not do his math correctly. His "offer price," listed at the top of the offer Web page, was not the same as the "total price" listed at the bottom. CarWoo contacted the dealer and straightened it out at my request, but I wish CarWoo would implement some sanity checks on the dealer offers to make sure the offers are clear.

2) Number of offers. Over the course of one week I received three bids on the Corolla, one on the Cruze and nothing on the Altima. That was a disappointing take for top-10, consumer-driven makes like these. I think this is because CarWoo is still actively building dealer participation, but for the time being I would not recommend the service for a hard-to-find vehicle. I wish they would do more to pro-actively solicit local dealers for bids, preferably by phone (I believe their only form of communication with dealers is e-mail).

3) Price. In my opinion, $99 is a bit much to ask given the relatively small number of offers you get. I am glad I had an aggressive dealer.

Conclusion: I will use CarWoo again when I buy a car for my wife this June, and in the meantime I hope they iron out some of the kinks with the Web site and get more dealers involved.
