Care.com double charges

"See they charge caregivers for care check and background checks and they charge those looking for caregivers fees to cover trust and background checks. Clearly double charging for everything. On top of that I paid annual membership not to get charged more. They stated that’s all was needed "

WORST Experience I have ever had

"We are part of the business side of care.com. I have called 100 families and have only had 2 enroll. We were guaranteed at least 1 out of every 20 I believe it was, clearly those numbers are falsified. We have done everything we were told to do, call, text, email, etc and most families never responded even still. I attempted to contact Tim, one of the sales managers over the course of October. I was told he had been out of work sick and he would give me a call back by Karen one of the sales people we worked with. That was on October 19. I received a call from him on October 20 but was in a classroom and interviews and couldn't take his call. Since then I have called and left 4-5 messages and still no response. I contacted Karen and she said she would have him call me this past Friday, I never got a call. I texted her letting her know and attempted to call her and her answer was that she was on a conference call and she would call me back shortly. I waited about 20 min and didn't receive a call and so I tried again. She told me she still had an hour and a half left in her work day and she would give me a call. In the mean time I could call or email the support team. Obviously I am not trusting them to respond to me in any proper amount of time if I email because, well to date they have failed to call me back (Tim the manager and the support team that I left 2 messages with). Well at 3:51 pm az time, nearing the end of her shift I tried calling, what a shock no answer. I called 26 times and no answer. Now she has blocked my number, Tim will not call me back, and surprise I haven't received any sort of communication from the support team after 2 messages and an email. They have no problem charging my card though still. I attempted to delete my debit card info so they couldn't charge us, because at this point they have failed to uphold their end of the deal, but I can't delete it from the file. There is no way to cancel unless I speak with someone, yet I have to leave a voicemail and never get a live person. I have reported them to the BBB, I am going to have to contact my bank to claim fraudulent charges so they can't charge me any further. This is insane and not how a company should be doing business."

Horrible Customer Service/ Payment Issues

"I used care.com so that I could find work while I completed my studies. I should have known after it took weeks for my account to be set up that something was not right. A client paid me through the App over a week ago and I still haven’t been paid. I would advise families and caregivers to be Leary of this site. A business with this type of customer service is never good. I wish I could have proved the reviews wrong, but each and every one of them holds value. I truly believe they should just go out of business. Stop giving people the false hope that you care. "

Hidden subscription fees + fake accounts

"There are plenty of fake accounts on the site, very few people respond to messages. Care.com will not send you invoices/payment confirmations and their "1 month membership" option is actually a subscription, they charged me £300 and provided no useful services. Customer support is extremely poor. Their competition is much better.

Free for applicants, why not?

"I have been able to acquire several housekeeping jobs through care.com and one child care my only setback is that my profile is either housekeeping or childcare you can't have one profile for everything that you do which I think it's silly also the people posting ads should be the one paying for it not the people with the talent and able to do the job"

Biggest scam out there. The company makes false profiles claiming to be families looking for help.

"I have been using care for a few years on and off. I've paid for my background checks also paid to be at the top of the list only to be lowered after 2 weeks. I have never gotten any real jobs thru this site. They take the money but nothing comes back. "

care.com scam of the centry

" If I could I would not even give them a star but I had to write the review. I was looking for a tutor for my daughter because I can't afford 65.00 an hour. I thought that this would be good alternative biggest mistake EVER took my money with no services in return. Then they don't even have a customer serve phone, have you ever heard of such a thing. As for back ground checks (one word) unreliable!!!!! Please don't waste your time or money unless you have it to throw away.

"In our opinion Care.com should not be used for childcare. The caregivers are not properly vetted and most have false or misleading information in their profiles. Care.com "Bait and switch" marketing model for billing is becoming well known across the internet. Care.com has a shameful reputation for being a deceptive and unethical service. STAY AWAY. Keep your money and children safe."

"Care.com is a fraudulent unethical .com platform that put kids lives in danger. The background checks are unverified and supplied by a 3 rd party .com company that clearly states they are not liable for the any accuracy or completeness and is not responsible for any information a caregiver does or does not provide. Care.com clearly states they are not responsible for the conduct of any caregiver. Care.com is not responsible for the accuracy of any background check since they are not providing them first hand. Background checks are completed when caregivers punches in their DL# from their home computer. No actual ID is ever seen by anyone. No live interviews no correspondence at all for caregivers to get on Care.com. Anyone can punch in anyones DL# and spit out a clean report. Craigslist is a safer way to find childcare because parents are aware how dangerous a complete stranger can be and use extreme caution using real life IDs and real paper police reports from the local police station. Care.com misrepresents themselves with the 100 different commercials they run on tv that highlight reviews and background checks. Most reviews on Care.com from caregivers are fake. That is because care.com encourages the caregivers to ask friends and family to write a reviews. Also any bad reviews are deleted that declare abuse, theft, or neglect..The caregivers account is terminated that day so parents don't get to see any of the dark side. But here is the kicker: Parents accounts that wrote the bad review are also closed. Closed without warning ,explanation or refund. That is because Care.com likes to cover its tracks..One bad review could equal more. Care.com does not know the real story about what happened ever and doesnt Care to find out. Please do not use this horrible care service ever.
The BBB is covering for Care.com by charging them hefty membership fees to monitor bad reviews and not allow the any serious complaints to go through. The only complaints allowed on the BBB are for the bait and switch auto renew billing buried so hard no one can see it. Also the poor user friendly site that is so complicated after sign up to navigate that parents get frustrated and cant find the page to close the account. The BBB is being investigated by the federal trade commission for charging membership fees then awarding A ratings to those who pay it (CARE.COM)
The pages that boast about the company are all owned and operated by Care.com..Jabber and Reviewopedia have the best real reviews on the net. As well as complaint board.

"DO NOT USE care.com.

Months after signing up for a one month subscription, I noticed unauthorized monthly payments being debited from care.com. When I called to advise I did not authorize these payments, they advised on the page when I signed up that payments would automatically be debited. I advised that I did not see that on the site when registering for a ONE MONTH subscription. So I went back to the site and they had it written in small print in light gray writing so people could hardly see it.

I was furious as they had already taken out over $100 from my account and refused to refund the money to me.

I do not want anyone else to experience this.

I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND using this company.
