"As others have mentioned this dealer is very dishonest and plays games. In my case I got an email to call to confirn the order and I called. What happened then after a long hold is they attempted to sell me accessories at a highly inflated price, suggested the battery had poor life and I "had to have an extra battery", I needed a memory card, etc..., and when I refused all offers I got an "oh the product you bought is not a US Market product and the menus and controls are in Japanese". There was no mention of this on their site and it's probably total bs. What a flippin joke these people are!!! They should be put out of business and prosecuted for their fraudulent business practices! What a total waste of time dealing with these idiots!

Do yourself a favor and buy from real companies like Amazon. I canceled my order with loosercameras.com and paid just $20 more for a US Market product with a US warranty and No BS!

"Well folks, wish I had known about resellratings.com before I ordered from cameraaddict.com. I have had the same painful experience as everyone else. Ordered a camera, got the have to comfirm email, and had to call in to confirm only to get a sales pitch for other accessories. Camera price dropped $120 between the order, and ship date. Attempted to do a RMA only to find restocking fees and shipping would be more than the price difference, and also got the line that the website camera was non-US camera body only. So ended up keeping the camera, figured it was the only way to break even."

"I purchases a HDTV from this online reseller, Camera Addict.com, got a confirmation number on the credit card sale and they they called me a day later and tried to change my order from the original charged price on my sale. They emailed me to confirm the order. I called and spoke to a Mr. Diamond and then he tried to confirm a price that was not the price on my confirmation of the sale. Then he said that the new HDTV which was supposedly new from the manufacturer did not come with a TV stand, which all new HDTV's come with and then he tried to charge me an additional 299.00 for a DELUXE STAND of which I did not even need. Then he said that he would not approve the order that the site originally approved and confirmed with this confirmation number."

"I agree that Camera Addict does play the salesmen game. They also have several website stores with addresses on the same street.

You place an order on a good deal product (in my case a Canon Xsi EOS kit for $737 (msrp $899 body only) then a sales man calls & try to upgrade the sale with $$$ accesories, which is fine, but the problem is that they lie about the product just to up sale. The sales people are very rude especially if you do not upgrade.

Watch out for:
- Stock battery only last for 15 min. The stock battery is actually a pretty decent battery, better than previous stock batteries Canon ship. They can last for 500 shots. They will tell you that it only comes w/ the backup battery. They will force you to at least upgrade to a 2hr battery & rapid charger.
- Say that the Sale price is a Japanese model, plastic body & japan warranty. Their website does not say anything about selling you the Japan models but that is the risk to take if you do not upgrade. They do have a 7 day return policy but they will charge you for both s/h.
- Say in stock but will ship from their warehouse overseas. Truth is that it is NOT in stock & they are still ordering them from their supplier overseas.
- The only thing I'm afraid they will do if you do not upgrade, is send you a gray market camera from the dollar store.

They do send you a good product if you upgrade, just make sure you're not spending more than buying a camera from your local Inkleys. At least you will save on sales tax.

JUST BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH THESE GUYS or find a way to shut them down!

"Again, the parable of "If it's too good to be true it is" certainly came into play here. I ordered Panasonic camera from them on their website. I received an email saying I had to contact them to confirm the order. I tried to call them 3 times after the email only to wait on hold for more than 15 minutes each time w/o getting through. I received another email saying that if I wanted my order to ship I had to verify my order. So I called again, finally getting through after 10 minutes. Immediately after confirming the order and my address they began to upsale me ridiculously. Feeling the tug of the BAIT AND SWITCH hook, I told the guy that I wanted to cancel my order immediately. He said "Fine" and hung up on me. A few hours later I received my email verifying the cancellation. EDIT: I received an email from camera addict asking me to change my rating now that I had received my order... What order? I cancelled it based on the upsale and poor c.s. Nice company...

This place is a crock and I believe it to be affiliated with Broadway photo whom I'm also going to review.

"CameraAddict is a Brooklyn NY bait and switch company. Just read customers experiences on Amazons Camera Forums.

The pattern is: you're offered a great price on what appear from their advertisement is a standard New Camera with expected battery, charger(if mfg supplies it as standard) and new product warranty.

What you get is a phone call or email about a day after your order to call to Confirm your order, strange. Then you're told the camera does not come with a battery, or charger, or warranty, or all three. Then you are then switched to the real thing if you want to pay considerably more.

I cancelled my order. In the mean time my credit card was exposed to these jerks, and I lost time getting a camera I needed.

STAY CLEAR. Thanks ResellersRatings for your site. Wish I had known about it before I got burned.

"Just one of those NYC scam stores. As soon as I heard "your camera doesn't come with a battery" over the phone, I told them to cancel the order. No clue how come they are still in business, no or at least very few people will fall into their trap.
Be aware of several online price search engines. My negative review didn't show up there, thousands of 5-star reviews there might be fraud. One thing might give us a clue is some of those price search engines are also in NYC. ShopCartUSA.com, everyprice.com, and etc. all have thousands of good reviews on those scam stores, how come? Very few or none reviews on big names such as amazon.com, buy.com, etc, can someone explain this?

"SCAM, SCAM, SCAMMMMM!!! Same story as all the others I read. Placed an order 3 days ago. For verification purposes I had to call... Guy I spoke to was actually very polite. He told me the the battery that comes with the new state of the art Sony HDR-SR12 Hi-Def Camcorder lasts only 20 minutes! Tried to get me to order an "AC/Delco" 2 hr. Battery for Sony. I asked if it was OEM - he said no, so I passed. I also declined the Extended Warranty and he said "fine - the order will ship out ASAP from Brooklyn. You should have in (in NJ) in a few days" Checked their site this morning and item was on Backorder. I called and was told that they only had the "Eastern European Model" in stock, but for $200 more, they have the U.S. model that they can ship ASAP. I canceled. They were fine about it and sent me a confirmation e-mail just a few minutes later. This is a classic bait n' switch scheme. By the way, a similar thing also happened to me with Digiemporio.com. The had no stock of the item unless I ordered it with the $250 Camera Starter kit. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. I just ordered it from Provantage.com. They have usually been pretty good for me. Also, Buy.com is the probably best online company I have dealt with. "

"I ordered a Sony KDL40XBR4 LCD TV online friday and received an e-mail on sunday that required I call them by phone (They are closed on saturday). The phone representative high pressured me to buy all sorts of extras but I declined. He went so far as to say unless I bought a wall mount or table stand at $200 each I would have no way to put the TV down when I took it out of their shipping box. I told him to cancel the order. My advice...Run away from "Camera Addict"

"Few weeks ago I ordered a camera. It said 305 $ but when I checked my account it was charged 588$. After I spoke with customer service they said I have been charged additional 283$ for English version camera relise!?! There is restocking fee for return items and there is free shiping but they charge you handling which is more than a shipping. Be aware!!!!
Don' purchase anything from this web-site. Unprofessional customer service.

"Unblievably bad. I wish I had read the previous review. This site is a total scam. They try to sell you extra's on the "verification" call and told me the camera I was buying, without the extras, was a wholesale camera, in chinese, with plugs that would not work in the US and no battery or charger. A total joke. The idiot then told me I obviously "not done my research" to know that his camera was a Chinese camera with no battery. Seriously."

"I purchased a Pentax K100D from this company for my son. When I recieved an email to call and confirm order, they talked me into additional items that they said I would need to use the camera. I agreed.Situations changed and I no longer needed or wanted the camera. So when it arrived I call the get a return authorization. I was offered a tripod and 5 year warranty to keep the camera and sell it on my own instead of returning. He said he was trying to save me money because of the restocking fee, said I could get more money back by elling on my own. According to their website the return policy says they charge a min of 5%. Well I learned 5% is or when you cancel before they ship. If you want to return it can be up to 25%. they charged me 15%. No where that I could find did they state this. I found them misleading and cagy. I will now wait and see how long it takes to credit my CC. "

"Camera Addict advertised a Panasonic digital camera DMCTZ3K for $155.00. No where in the write up does it tell you that if you want the camera with English on it you have to pay $95 more. That was really deceiving."

"I originally ordered a Hitachi DZ-HS300A as a prize for a non-profit photograph organization. A representative called and asked if I wanted to add a lot of accessories and I didn't, he didn't say anything about warranties. The next thing I get is an email stating the item is on back order. I email and ask how long, the reply was 4-6 weeks. Since I needed it by May 2, 2008 I figued no problem. Since then I emailed and called and was told it is still on backorder and will be shipped when available. On 1/22/08 it was supposed to be 2 to 3 weeks more. On 3/31/08 I called as if to order one. Gee it's in stock for $64.00 more. I called Customer Service and asked why I didn't get my back order, well the outcome was, I supposedly ordered a foreign warranteed camera, not a usa warranteed camera and that was the different in price, but they could send me the USA one for the higher price. I had no choice I now needed this camera. No where in their advertising does it state anything about 2 different prices. Beware when ordering from this company, ask about (grey items) foreign warranties versus USA warranties. I won't order from them again and will inform my organization and friends in a mass email of their false advertising practices."
