" ordered a Compaq power supply from www.comp-recycle.com. They only take C.O.D. Once I submitted my purchase,(which was $17.00) it said I would be contacted by email with the shipping and total price. The next day (Thursday July 17, 2004) I received this email from ****@****

“Thank you for your order.
Your total with USPS COD shipping is $30.75
Please have a US Postal Money Order payable to "Comp-Recycle"
ready for the Mailman when he delivers the package.
The Mailman will accept cash plus an extra $0.90 (money order fee}.
Shipping Today. Will arrive in 2-3 days.
Thanks
Steve”

I responded the same day with two emails.

“Why is the shipping $13.00 For this? “

and

“Can I get a USPS tracking number, I’m not in the office on Saturday, if it happens to come in then.

Thanks”

I never received an email back. On Monday, July 19, 2004 I received the package. I wrote a check to USPS for the C.O.D. After opening the package I saw that it was not a Compaq power supply nor is it compatible with my computer. Later on that night I tested it in another computer, and found this item not to work at all.

I then tried to find a phone number for them. I did a whois and found the number that was not his number. In fact the lady said she receives numerous calls asking for this individual. I then searched for his address off of whois (which isn’t his address as well), and found forums that had stories of similar experiences with this individual. Here are some links:

http://www.bidzee.com/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi

This is his forum, with all bad posts

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1192-p1-s1-d1.html

There are 89 posts, all negative

I encourage everyone to read these forums for other buyer’s experiences.

(Including: fraudulent USPS tracking numbers, broken/defective parts, incorrect parts, and never a refund or replacement even when the merchandise is returned.)

He also owns a domain called bidzee.com (his auction site)

The individual’s name is Allen Wagenberg, and is thought to be a sole proprietor, but also uses numerous other names in emails, including “Steve” in mine.

From all the posts, this has been going on since 1999 and before on both of these domains.

These sites need to be frozen/removed, and investigated for fraud. Some people have reported activities to some agencies, but I’m being very proactive in this situation. People can not continue to get swindled for another 4 to 8 years by these practices.

I am in the process of contacting the following people which might include your organization:

ICANN.ORG

Networksolutions.com

Godaddy.com (registrar)

Gnax.net (hosting company)

coastinc.com (hosting company)
tweakedhosting.com (hosting company)
USPS Postal inspection

Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC)

AOL (His ISP)

EBAY.COM (Sells here as well)

Plano Texas Police Department

Virginia Beach Police Department (my local police)

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

Better Business Bureau of Plano and Carollton Texas

Any cooperation is appreciated
please email me at ****@**** with your complaints. Im trying to rally everyone together, because after 8 years, the police isnt doing much.
