A Positive Experience with CPO !!!

"Great Experience and wanted to write to give another perspective regarding this company.

Long story short. I saw an item on CPO $40 cheaper than anywhere else. Never hearing of the company and being a skeptical internet shopper I immediately looked for reviews. Bad, bad reviews. Well I didn’t want to take a chance with a $329 item.

So I passed... Newegg next cheapest price $369. But for peace of mind I ordered the product (a generator/inverter) there.

But to my shock I see CPO was fulfilling the Newegg order. I immediately wrote an email (expressing my distrust of CPO) requesting this order canceled. The next day I saw the order was still being processed. So with no answer from my email and wanting this order stopped I called CPO directly, and expressing my concerns, asking the order to be cancelled.

How it all ended...
The fact someone at CPO actually answered the phone was surprising to me (which I told them of surprise).

The representatives (spoke with 3 in total). Where all very kind/ soft spoken and professional in how they handled this situation.

In the end I received my 50lb item on time with UPS shipping as well as they refunded me the $40 difference between their website’s price and Newegg’s price.

So my advice is if you see an item you would like to order from CPO, and you are concerned based on reviews, give them a call first and speak to them about your possible order.

Based upon their outlets/ stores/ warehouses this isn’t some fly by night company and this experience worked out so well that I wanted to pass this reassurance along.

The company apparently does such a tremendous volume that negative experiences happen and they are the ones who will feel the passion to write. So I do not discount their experiences.

But my experience is that their call center picked up each time I called, in the middle of the pandemic with zero wait time. That ought to mean something when every other company in the world seems to have shut down their call centers. They handled my concerns with grace and ease and everything in the end was absolutely perfect. Hope this helps!

Really bad shipping and refund policies

"CPO's shipping and refund policies, combined with UPS chicanery, are creating a mess for me on something that cost me $380.

Short version:

In my opinion, the moment an item shows up on the UPS tracking page as "Shipment Halted" along with a status indicating that the item was damaged in transit, while it was in the custody and control of UPS, CPO should issue a refund. The customer shouldn't have to wait for CPO to receive the item back from UPS before issuing the refund, especially if the tracking page indicates that there may be a delay in that regard.

Long version:

CPO will issue a refund only when 1) the customer files a lost-item claim with UPS or 2) they receive back from UPS an item that was damaged.

The UPS tracking status showed Out for Delivery. The day of delivery, 1/6, the UPS truck pulls up to my house and I hear the driver knocking around inside for a few minutes, apparently looking for my package (it is a large one weighing over 100 pounds). Then I hear him say "We're missing a lot of sh*t today". It sounded like a phone conversation, not something he was exclaiming in exasperation, talking to himself. The truck drives off.

The next day, "Out for Delivery" is gone from the UPS tracking page! Someone replaced the status rather than adding a new one.

I contact UPS about this disappearance, and they tell me to contact the Shipper. CPO tells me that UPS has ten (10) days to try to find the package if it is lost, and that I should wait another day, when I will be able to file a lost-item claim.

By the end of the following day the tracking page looks like this (the times are just estimates, the exact times are not relevant)

1/8 8 am. Due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed...

1/7 3pm Shipment Halted. Package damaged. Notifying Sender.

1/7 8am In Transit

12/26 3am In Transit

The UPS website won't let me file a lost item claim. And because of this possible delay, there's no telling if and when CPO will receive this package back from UPS. And what happens if it gets lost on the way back? I may have to wait for this refund indefinitely. I had to go to my credit card company to straighten this mess out. I won't be buying anything from CPO in the future.

Cpo stealing promotional items?

"CPO will not provide me an adequate invoice to redeem a promotional product. I have provided them the standards required and have communicated many times to no avail. They have given me 3 different invoice types that are always missing an address, or an invoice number, or even an invoice at all. Initially they would only give me a sales request even though I had been charged for the product. This request is not an unusual one as the product purchased is from Milwaukee. Ongoing since 11/18."

Disingenuous concern for customer

"Still waiting for them to resolve three items I received broken. It has been a month since my order, the have received an item back and still haven’t given me my money back. I have been told multiple times that it would take 3-5 days to make it into my account. Then 5 days later they say the same thing. I will be happy to edit review if anything changes but so far I feel I’ve been scammed.

Edit: after writing reviews on multiple sites last night I was contacted by a very nice representative who made a point to remedy the situation without delay. Wish it didn’t have to go on for so long but glad it’s over.

"I believe they use our money to draw Intrest. I ordered a dewalt table saw from them. Contacted them twice never got a response I finally had to go through pay pal to get a refund. "

Horrible Company

"I ordered a 500 dollar cordless rotary hammer from these idiots. The next day while im at work they call me to ask me the same questions that i answered for the credit card payment. They considered me a fraud and wanted to get the credit card number again. I told them to cancel the order and they just hung up. Pieces of ****! Got it on Amazon cheaper in the end."

SELLS "USED" TOOLS AS NEW!

"I oredered 2 dewalt flexvolt batteries on amazon and I saw CPO as the reseller I been scammed by this company before on walmart with a "USED" air compressor customer return even though it was listed as a new item any way batteries come the heat sealed pacakaging has been tampered with and on both sides so you can push it down an squeeze used batteries in SHADY COMPANY WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE AN I HAVE BEEN SCAMMED BY MALL SALESMEN, CAR DEALER, PAYDAY LOANS, AND MY FAVORITE ROOF/INSURANCE/MOLD SCAM ARTIST THAT LAST ONE ALMOST IS THE SAME AS CPO BUT CPO WINS most crooked of ALL!!! why because they look legit guys its a total SCAM!"

"ordered a fisker hand drill shown coming with drill bit package...they ship only the drill...the lisitng showed the bits and even gave the size....stay away...plenty of other places to go that

$678 fee to return a $1,235 order that was canceled before shipping

On 12/29/18 I placed a $1,163 order through Amazon ($1,235 w/ tax) (via CPO Outlets) for a Laguna Tools 1412 bandsaw. Large heavy item that requires a lift gate service to deliver. This charge showed "pending" on my credit card statement a day later.

On 1/4/19 (6 days later) I noticed Laguna Tools had a 10% off sale. I called CPO to inquire about price matching. They do not.

On 1/7/19 (9 days later) my credit card statement now showed no charge, pending or actual, for the item. I called CPO Outlets to inquire about a cancellation. I told them I would gladly accept the item if it were too late to cancel. (I'm aware of their 25% restocking fee for cancellations that have been "prepped for shipping" or that have been shipped) They told me the order had already been canceled on 1/4/19 and their records showed the item had not shipped (or been prepped for shipping). I explained it wasn't me who made the request on 1/4/19. Given all this information I requested the order to stay canceled.

About an hour after that conversation with CPO I received a call from the lift-gate service wanting to schedule a time to deliver my order. (the item had shipped and was near my home town) I told them my order had been canceled. I immediately called CPO to inform them. I told them I would go ahead with the order if this meant I would incur any "restocking fees". They told me it was "unlikely" I would have any fees attached to my cancellation. I wanted to be absolutely sure so I requested a call back from CPO once they knew for sure so I could make a final decision. I didn't hear back from them.

2 days later on 1/9/19 my credit card statement showed a charge for the item (5 days after the order was canceled). I immediately filed a dispute with my credit card company. I called CPO again and reiterated my concerns of being charged a 25% restocking fee ($290) and if this were the case I would gladly accept the order. I was told it was too late and the item was back in route to Laguna Tools but it didn't look like I would be charged any fees. I asked that someone who could provide me with accurate information call me immediately.

4 hours later I received a call from CPO. I was told it wasn't CPO who makes the decision to charge a restocking fee and that it was Laguna Tools. I requested a call back with actual information. I called Laguna Tool and explained the situation. Laguna's 25% restocking fee is charged to the company (CPO) not the customer (Me). They also agreed that CPO was at fault. I did not hear back from CPO

On 1/14/19 I noticed a refund in the amount of $557.34 to my card. This is $678 less that my order total. And $388 more than a 25% restocking fee. On 1/16/19 I called CPO. I was told that $557.34 was my total refund. Not only was I charged a 25% restocking fee (from Laguna Tools according to CPO) but an additional "redistribution fee" of $388 from CPO. I was told there was nothing I could do, no one else I could talk to and that I should talk to my credit card company if I thought it was unfair. I asked to speak with who was in charge of making the decision to charge me these fees. I was told I wasn't able to speak with anyone else.

There was never any mention of this "distribution fee" from anyone at CPO nor is it stated in their "return policy". It seems as though this fee was made up. I'm waiting to hear back from my credit card company about the dispute. This could take up to 60 days.

Keep looking and find another place!!!

"This company does false advertising, they will not reply to any contact made through their website, their customers service is terrible and that's if you can understand them. I have opted out of their emails and will NEVER order from them again. I would recommend buying local or any other online retailer but NOT CPO!!!"

Misleading

"Ordered a battery charger, price was good, checkout was easy. But a few days after my product was due to arrive I received an email saying the product was no longer in stock and would not be for the foreseeable future. I checked their website and the product was still listed as "available".
I replied to the customer service email with a few questions but never got a reply.

Happy Camper

"I don't understand all the bad reviews. I went to wood working forums and saw nothing but good.
I have ordered twice. First order was on a Friday, for $160.00 , I received an E-Mail that same day saying the order had shipped. It arrived Monday.
The second order was on a Sunday for $60.00 , Received E-Mail on Monday saying it had shipped. Received on Wednesday.
Very good prices and very fast shipping. I'll be ordering more from CPO.

Three days later-
This is an update to my review since I had to contact customer service due to a missing piece in an item I purchased from CPO.

Their service representative was very friendly and helpful. They could not replace the missing piece since they are a distributor of parts, not the manufacturer. They do not have spare parts laying around, they have complete kits. This is something you need to understand when buying from a distributor. Every manufacturer can have a kit go out their door with a missing part. It doesn't happen very often, but we are all human, and it can happen.
What happens when it does is what's important to us, the consumer.
CPO was very apologetic about the incident, and gave me the manufacturer's customer service number. Contacting the manufacturer myself is the fastest way to get the part replaced. CPO knows that too. The company I had to contact was Teknatool,the maker of Nova power tools and accessories. They were great to deal with. In less than 5 minutes I had explained the issue, gave them the part number to the missing part, they took my name and address, and said the part would be in the mail today. They were also very apologetic and friendly and thanked me for my patronage.
I am still very happy with my purchase with CPO. This issue is beyond their control.
If you are going to make a purchase online, understand this.
If this is something that would bother you to the point of writing a bad review about a distributor, then you shouldn't buy online. Go to a big-box-store where you can open everything you buy before you take it home.
This is the first time this has happened to me on an online purchase, and am happy with how it turned out.
Note: I have had this happen twice on purchases made at big box stores. Just saying.

Okay so I was considering ordering from this site. I looked up reviews though and got worried. The process was too good to believe. I got a

I was worried they wouldn't send it or that it would be destroyed looking. I ordered on Friday and got it next Thursday. Not bad. Didnt get charged extra for shipping or anything. So I opened the box and not only was the case very clean, it was also the correct tool, and very nice looking almost new. I will be ordering more. If I do have a bad experience I will share. I would say if your on a budget definitely worth it. I'll try and add pictures. Very pleased. "

Crooked

"I should have listened to all the bad reviews!! They say no shipping on order over 50 & then sneak it onto your credit card after purchase! I tried to get resolved before it shipped & they wouldn't do anything & then after it shipped then they said it was to late! Extremely poor customer service & they did the exact same thing to a friend,I guess just hope u don't catch it!! Now I have to have my credit card company get involved.Dont buy from them as you will regret it ,they are Crooks !!"

System not customer friendly

"First thing, even tho they weren't able to resolve the issue everyone I spoke to was very polite. For some reason they can't sell/ship us tools because their "system" won't let them ship to a FedEx address? Lord help anyone who has an issue the "system is not programmed for. "
