"The actual lens I was trying to purchase as a Christmas gift was not available. The representative I spoke with, called me to discuss or suggest alternatives and reassured me that if the person I was gifting this lens to was not happy with it, there was a 60-day return policy and it would be honored. As it turned out, his suggestion was perfect! I deeply appreciated his assistance and that he took the time to pick up the phone to discuss options with me. Thank you so much, Dave!"

"I ordered a nikon d4 that was and still is listed as in stock from them on 10/22/2013 with 3 day express delivery. Shortly after placing the order, I received an email refunding me the express delivery charges, explaining the camera was coming from Europe and would take a couple of weeks to deliver. When I tried to get the tracking number from them, there was no response. I called the company the following week and was told the camera was delayed in customs and delivery would be another 2 weeks. When I called back this week I was told it was backordered and would be 6-8 weeks before delivery and they would send me a tracking number as soon as it was available. When I pointed out to them it was still listed as in stock on their website, they hung up. I suspect fraud."

"I ordered a Canon 70-300mm f/4 IS Autofocus Lens for $249.00 0n 9-8-13. on 9-9-13 David called and said that this lens would not fit on my camera and I should get the 55-250mm IS instead for $349.00. Compulsively I agreed considering I am still learning about lenses. I did some research online and found out that I could get this same lens for $100.00 cheaper all over the internet. I sent a e-mail on 9-10-13 to Closeout Digital stating I wanted to get the original 70-300mm len that I had ordered originally and to call me. No response! on 9-17-13 I called and spoke with Josh who would not let me talk to David. He argued with me about cancelling the order and sending me the lens. I told him I was going to call my credit card company and cancel but he said the order had already gone threw. I received the 55-250mm Canon lens and I see that it is a reconditioned one. I also did not receive the Hood and 10 pc accessory kit that I was promised. I finally convenced Josh to let me send the lens back but I dropped and broke it while packing it. I still have not received the hood or the 10 pc accessory kit. I have found out that the original lens I ordered, would fit my Canon camera and the 55-250mm lens that I paid $389.00 for is selling all over the internet for $299.00. I guess I lost all the way around and I am out $389.00."

"Buyers beware, this company is a FRAUD. I purchased a Canon Mark III in July 30, 2013 and as of today October 12, 2013 I have not received my order. I called the company many times to inquire and all they provided were different dates for arrival and crazy excuses. For some reason they do not and will not provide a TRACKING number? When they finally did provide one it was an invalid tracking number. They even told me my order was on “Back Order.” Customer service was very rude and unprofessional. I then visited the address where supposedly they are located in San Jose, California and took pictures, this company does not exist. I am in the process of filing a complaint with BBB as well as a criminal complaint. Stay away from this company, avoid all the hassle dealing with criminals."

"They did get me a zoom lens - the one I originally wanted was on back order which they failed to tell me. Also the UV Lens that was included is the wrong size it is a 52mm and I need a 58mm. Communication was not very impressive."

"*** Buyer Beware *** DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY*** My wife bought a Camera from this company in late June, however she had found a better camera elsewhere and decided to return the camera back to CD. There was no problem obtaining the camera initially, and returning. We received a confirmation e-mail (early July) that they had received the camera and may take up to 30 days to process. Fine, we waited out the ~30 days into August, and yet NO refund. We have made about a dozen phone calls since then with instances (~5) of promises that our card would be credited. We have been met with rudeness, condescension, and just the lack of caring. I had told them several times that this had been ongoing for three months. Don’t care. We are a household on a budget and we stand to lose a few hundred dollars (500) on this and it’s just plain thievery. They took our money and won’t give it back! Please do not use this company. I will also follow up with the BBB.

Update (10/8/13): We did get our refund back, but it was only going through our credit card company, and filing a dispute against CD. It was so ironic that my last phone call with CD, they actually told me that was a choice I had. However they also told me this route would take 45 days. It took less than 24 hours. BTW, my other choice to get my refund back would have been a cashier's check they would mail to me. Yea Right!
