Best experience with Ms Theresa !!!!

"I had my 4 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son at this location,
It was one of the best experiences they had.
Teachers are great especially Director Theresa, cant say enough about her, she has worked with me on so many different issues, around my schedule ( not something I have encountered in other areas) she would even tell me what would be the cheapest option for me.
Camera access allows me to check on my kids and I have always found
teacher to be attentive, playing with kids or working for them.
We have been lucky to have found this place.

"I like that there are cameras and formula/food is provided which you don't find at many daycares. I haven't been pleased with the turn over in staff which either means quality employees aren't being vetted/hired or there's problems with management which I have ran into a few teachers outside of daycare that have departed and they complained about management which I take with a grain of salt b/c I don't really know the underlying issues, it could just be a disgruntle employee. If the teachers are being burned out, maybe come up with a strategy to rotate them so they aren't with the same kids and maybe it'll help them not get burned out so quickly. Or maybe offer more breaks or some type of incentives to motivate them. I don't like my child or myself to get acclimated to another teacher and they only last a short time. I don't think its good for the kids. Maybe the compensation and benefits needs to be competitive with other daycares."

Our Choice for Childcare

"I've been very pleased with our experiences at the North Arlington location of Children's Courtyard. Staff is respectful and responsive and I love the phone apps that allow me to monitor my child via video and get updates on eating and diapers for younger ones. They also provide food, diapers, wipes, and baby formula, should you elect to use their brands.
I would rate the pre-school age program as 4 stars. Best aspects are the musician/puppeteer who visits often, the curriculum appears strong, there is a good balance of structure vs freeplay, and I like how they "take it up a notch" for the summer programming with special events. The only aspects I would change would be the uniform requirement for older children, and the student to teacher ratio is a little higher than I'd like.
But this location shines with infant care. I am constantly amazed at the dedication, professionalism, and genuine affection from the infant teachers. The ratio of babies to caregivers is very low, the were supportive of special requirements when we had them, and supported my breastfeeding relationship with my child. I truly cannot say enough good things about the team of ladies who care for the youngest kids and I am constantly impressed with how much they are able to teach babies.
I would also like to remark that twice I have witnessed their emergency protocols, once as a drill for a missing child, and once in a situation where the classrooms were locked down and I was extremely impressed in both instances how quickly and thoroughly the staff secured the building and surrounding area. It really showed me how they value my kids' safety.

Transition to this facility was a NIGHTMARE!

"CON's definitely outweigh the PRO's here.

Con's are as follow:

Student to teacher ratio is horrible
The uniform dresscode is uncalled for and costly
Overall cleanliness of the outside grounds, were horrible compared to the inside
BOTH the Director & Assistant Director need an attitude adjustment
Their claim that most Pre-K teachers have "x" amount of years, doesn't prove anything.
One of the afternoon/evening Pre-K teachers, basically teaches from a freaking IPAD, while she's doodling on a sheet of paper!
THAT IS NOT TEACHING!
My child complained quite a few times about other children hitting him, but the teacher only reported to me about him hitting others, but when asked, she never saw anyone do anything to him. (I wonder was she doodling at those times).
When an illness outbreak occurs, we don't get a newsletter until a week or 2 AFTER the outbreak began. Which by then, the WHOLE class is infected. I know teaches can not diagnose children, as they are not MD's, BUT, if there are clear signs or some ongoing signs, they should be able to refuse childcare until a "clean bill of health" note is given.
It almost seems like when you bring problems to the Director (when she is there), that she doesn't really care and the Assistant Director loves to talk over you.
They are unprofessional, in how they let go of a staff member. Clearly in front of the parents and students is not the way to do it. (Saw that first hand, with my own eyes).

Pro's are as follow

The business hours are suitable
The location is convenient for where I live
And the 2 teachers I did like were awesome. Too bad they were run off.

"My son loved the school and his first two classrooms. He loved his teacher ms. Heather. Everything changed for him once he moved up to the next room. Some staff were very nice and said he needed time. But his main teacher and ms bright often had issues with my sons behavior. Things he never does at home I was often told he was acting out and had the main office called to control my 3 year old. Very sad."

"The tour provided insight to the overall children's experience. The caretaker / child ratio did not seem reasonable considering the overall number of children and age differences. Also, the overall cleanness of the facility was poor including the exterior. Considering the weekly cost, I expected much higher standards."

"I have a great relationship with my child's caregivers and fully trust them and their capabilities. Would like to see that they are fairly compensated in order to retain these wonderful teachers and ensure they are provided all the necessary resources they need to fulfill their duties and to provide my child a happy, peaceful and educational environment. If the teachers aren't happy they will leave and its hard to find good teachers. This job isn't for everyone, takes a special person to deal with children. Secondly, if they aren't happy with mgmt that could cause them to do a poor job and then my child is in danger, please don't let this happen. Do what is right."
