Damaged widow shutters

"They never sent confirmation, tracking number. When we received them 4 were damaged. I sent pictures info. Was to send email never did. I received a call from ups shipping. Called buymbs again, shutters were on way. Very Very poor communication, very Very bad packaging will never get anything from them again. "

Check your orders because they certainly wont

"This company just can’t seem to get things right. I decidedly to give them another chance, but I regret it. One of the first times I purchased from buymbs my order of gutter sealant was delivered to me completely destroyed. A bunch of gutter sealant with holes and Al stuck together. They fixed their mistake which is why our small business decided to give them another chance. This time however, they sent us our order of gutter seal with one carton of seal being what we ordered and the rest weren’t. It just so happened that we pulled out the correct sealant cartoon and we’re using it. With that one being what we had ordered we had assumed everything else was right too. WRONG the other 4 out of 5 cartoons of sealant were white and not aluminum, hard as a rock and wouldn’t even come out of the damn tube. The unfortunate part about this, is we noticed later on when we went to use the second cartoon (after finishing the first) only to discover it was not what we had ordered. After many attempts to contact customer service and receiving no answer and a “this mailbox is full” message I sent an email to which they essentially said it was our fault for not checking our order in a “timely” fashion and that basically it was our fault that they didn’t get our order right and that they would do absolutely nothing for us. Buymbs takes absolutely no accountability for their own mistakes made in their end and they clearly don’t care about customer satisfaction. I guess my advice to any future buyers is this, just don’t purchase from this company and if you do decide to purchase from them, make sure that you check your order completely. Even if you think it’s right just open up EVERY SINGLE THING (even if you’re not going to use it yet or anytime soon), even if one thing you opened is right and you think it’s right check everything cause I can tell you this forsure they’re not going to. They’ll send out your order without even checking to make sure it’s right and tell you it’s your fault that they couldn’t get things right. Not worth it, horrible customer service a me horrible service in general. "

"In stock" does not mean it is in stock and ready to ship.

""In stock" does not mean it is in stock and ready to ship. They do a ton of drop shipping and "In stock" on their website only means the manufacturer has not discontinued it but the manufacturer may be out or in between production runs so the shipping estimate on their website is meaningless. We ordered May 23rd and as of July 11th, it still has not shipped. The keep saying it will ship next week over and over. 4 days ago they said it will ship "tomorrow" but they still can't give me a tracking number. Don't order from them unless you have plenty of time and are willing to go through a lot of hassle."

Shutters are Great / Customer Service Stinks

BuyMBS Customer Service – 0-Stars

We purchased new shutters to accompany the new windows and siding. The Project Manager provided and estimated date for the completion and in which the crew would need the shutters, so we placed the order accordingly.

First, BuyMBS runs about $20.00 more per set than anywhere else that we looked but because they were on the East Coast and had them in-stock, we felt it would be worth the additional funds in order to ensure timely delivery.

It was raining when the shutters arrived as it would for the next 3-days that week, throwing the crew behind in completing the job. Since we had handrails, new exterior light fixtures, and a ton of siding material (foam, caulking, nails, mounting blocks, etc.) stored in the garage, we elected to leave the new shutters in the boxes until needed. The first part of the next week was rainy, and the crew ran out of siding. We finally opened the shutters, 2-weeks later, to prep for installation when we found that one was damaged during shipping.

We sent pictures along with the details and followed up with a telephone call and were told, that the BuyMBS policy requires inspection and submission of damages within 2-day of receipt and that we were SOL. We understand the policy; however, who reads return policies before they place an order, when other on-line companies typically offer a 30-day return and/or damage policy? But what really burned my backside was BuyMBS failed to offer an alternative of any kind (i.e., discount for a replacement set, the ability to purchase 1-shutter, etc.), I find that absolutely appalling.

In light of all that I learned, I ordered the replacement set at $20.00 less from a competitor and have notified everyone that I know and/or work with that BuyMBS is overpriced and have poor customer service.

Frustrating Customer Service and Broken Equipment

"I wish I would have done more research on this company prior to ordering from them. I was impressed with all the 5 star reviews on their website but that was naïve of me. I ordered a 6 foot brake that had shipping issues from the start. I made it through that frustration only to receive it and find that it was broken at the handle which is basically how you press your material. The day I received it I filed a complaint as you only have 2 days to do so. I sent pictures and a video. I was requested to send more pictures and I did, this was all done by text. I explained that the job I ordered it for was starting and followed up with them to hear that they had not heard back from the company. I followed up again weeks later, in the meantime using the broken equipment as best we could on the jobsite. They basically informed me that they would be shipping a new one but it was on back order. I expressed my irritation that after weeks of silence I had to call them to get a status again. Then I receive a text saying they want to send the replacement, can I supply the part number of the broken one. I can't deal with the freight issues. No offer of a discount or an apology. I posted a bad review on their site but an certain it will not show up as they only have 5 star reviews. This was poorly handled and I will not being doing business with this company in the future. Over a month of irritation!"

Terrible

"Worst worst customer service returns the whole thing. Ordered shutters they werebthe wrong color listed on their website said white and recieved a yellowish beige, said was my fault because i didn't order bright white even though the photo showed white i needed to buy bright white, now says no return ship unless i pay and also 20 percent restock fee. Jerks"

Terrible customer service

"When I purchased their peel and seal product the recommended application required using a primer to ensure adhesion. They did not carry the primer recommended in their information.I called and talked to MBS representative and she recommended the product that purchased from you. Upon using, it was not compatible so therefore should have not been recommended. I had to pay shipping and a restocking fee to have it returned. They would not reimburse me for any of it after telling me which product I needed to use that was not compatible. Bad Service and terrible customer service!"

Dismal customer service from several employees

"Found some hardware on buymbs.com. Concerned that the picture was a stock photo I called and asked to confirm some details. Sales person said they had to look in the warehouse. I was put on hold for 10 seconds, yes 10 SECONDS, after which they came back and said yes the picture was exactly what was for sale. This made me suspicious. I called the part's original manufacturer and inquired about the details of the part. They told me something different than MBS (Modern Builders Supply). So I called mbs.com again and got a different person. They said they would look at a part and email me a response. The email never came (waited 6 hours). I called again and mentioned the email. I was told it was sent but bounced back. I reasked my first question and was told the part was like the picture. When I told them the manufacturer had said otherwise I was told they would look into it. They sent me emails claiming the most absurd details about the part. Anyone who isn't a complete moron would have realized that these people have no idea what they're selling. The next day I asked to talk to someone above customer service. They said they were the head of customer service and would look into it again. Two days later I get another email saying they didn't stock the part as shown in the picture. What a complete waste of time dealing with this company. Watch out because they are just a distributor trying to move product. I recommend going somewhere else and dealing with people who know the product, have a history in manufacturing, and are truthful. "

Great online store with multiple regional brick-and-mortar stores

"Purchased an item that was grossly oversized and very irregular. Matter of fact, had to be shipped on a pallet. Not only were they the lowest price on the entire web, by far, but shipping was free. I have no idea how they made one penny off my purchase. On top of that, this was a pretty specialized, hard-to-find item. When I made the purchase, you are given an email confirmation immediately after placing the order. Included is a receipt, along with carrier and shipping info. Also included, was an estimated ship date. About 4 days later (remember, oversized, irregular object requiring special handling,) I checked my tracking number, and it indicated that it was in transit. A few days later, I received a call from a local freight company, wanting to arrange delivery. Object was delivered safe and sound! This was such a pleasure doing business with these guys. The price seemed to good to be true, but it was absolutely true! Look forward to buying from these guys again!"

Unreliable, poor service, poor communications, refusal to assume responsibility

"We placed an order of common roofing and flashing sealant (for caulking) on or around 12/26/17. On Friday 1/5/18 shortly before their closing the vendor informed us via e-mail that the product was on back order with the manufacturer because of system failures etc. and projected to ship in the middle of the month -- we would be provided a tracking no. at that point. We replied the same day expressing our disgust for failing to notify us in a timely fashion -- we need the product now when it rains (similar products are available everywhere and Walmart had the identical product for next day delivery when we inquired 1/9/18) . On 1/8/18 we send an e-mail canceling the order. On 1/9/18 we send a second e-mail canceling the order demanding proof of credit to our charge account. Despite the item not having shipped and not being scheduled for shipping in another week Buy MBS today under false pretense refused to credit our charge account. "
