Bad bulbs

"I ordered long life (6 years) halogen indoor flood lights twice and within a month 2bulbs are out. Also 2 of the bulbs I received had defects on the screw socket making them very difficult to install. Would never order from them again, beware"

"I needed to replace a light bulb (H38-100), and the Bulborama webpage showed that it had that light bulb in stock. The shipping charge for my $12 light bulb was exhorbitant ($9.50), but I needed the bulb so I ordered it. A few days later, light bulb H38JA arrived and did not fit my socket. I contacted Bulborama to let them know that the incorrect light bulb had been sent. I was told that I had ordered the incorrect light bulb. H38JA should fit, that I should have ordered the mogul version of H38. Note that I ordered exactly was written on my used light bulb. Their poor customer service rep said that there is nothing they could do but issue an exchange or a refund, however I would need to pay to return the light bulb AND pay a 20% restocking fee. That alone would cost me another $7, so I would basically get $5 for the inconvenience of returning a product that I never ordered. I told them I had no problem returning it for an exchange IF the return shipping was paid for. I never ordered H38JA, yet that is what I was sent. I've purchased at least 100 items online over the past several years from several different merchants and never received such horrible service. I would never ever order from them. They are crooks. I am surprised that Google agrees to do business with them. They should be banned."

"They seem like nice folks, but the shipping system on their web site sucks. Their web site advertised flat-rate shipping. The site showed reasonable shipping charges, so I put together an order of over $200 of compact fluorescent light bulbs. The site said they would ship for a flat rate of $15.99. After the order was submitted they held up the order and doubled the shipping charges. They said I should call their office to "finalize the order" (read: give them my credit card into to pay the doubled shipping charges, since the checkout had been through Google Checkout). I called at 2pm their local time, and nobody answered, just a machine. Later someone did call back.

He seemed to think it was normal to double the shipping on orders which had already been finalized, and that the shipping charges for finalized orders should be considered "estimates". Perhaps this is only an issue for customers in HI & AK. I explained that I felt they should honor the rates the site issued with the order, but they had no intention of changing it, or even to show the correct charges on the web site.

The products were as advertised, but I doubt I will buy from them again since there's no way to know how much they will decide to charge to ship the merchandise.
