Friendly people, timely shipping and a good TV

"I wasn't familiar with Brownbox and wondered how the transaction would go ... I'm pleased to share that it went very well. I ordered my 32" Sceptre TV on Dec. 12, I was informed it shipped on Dec. 14, and it was in my home on Dec. 17 ... just in time for Christmas viewing in our family room. Still working fine, and I wouldn't hesitate to again place an order for a TV or their other products, in the future. Pleased customer. "

Impossible shipping restrictions

"I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered the laptop from these idiots! They put so many restrictions on my delivery that I can't even receive the computer! I can't even pick it up from the FedEx office, because of the "restrictions by the seller." When I contacted the company, through Amazon, Brown Box replied that the delivery restrictions were "due to fraud." That was a lie. There's nothing about preventing me from picking up the package myself at the FedEx office, or an authorized FedEx receiver (Walgreens store) that would contribute to fraud.
The only fraud here is Brown Box.
They took my money.
It's now a week after Christmas and I have neither the computer nor my money.

"Never followed through with my order at Brown box. Ordered a laptop on Saturday, and on Monday received an email saying my order was declined. Clicking on 'details' gave no explanation. My first thought was insufficient funds from my bank account and upon checking, I had more than adaquete funds for this purchase. I then called the number provided for customer service and got a voicemail of someone named "Jeanie" several times. I do not feel comfortable leaving my information on a random voicemail so I kept trying during normal business hours. I find it very unprofessional that so many customer calls went unanswered and will not be pursuing this company further. It has taken too much of my time already and have nothing to show for it."

"I purchased a lap top from brown box about 6 months ago. I was initially happy with it until it stopped working. Ive contacted acer who refused to do anything. I contacted brown box and they seemed fine with selling a defective product. They refused to do anything except give me the number for the refurbishing company, who also refused to do any work on it. Dont bother buying electronics from brown box. Theyll only back the product for 90 days, after that your out of luck"

"The only reason this company gets 5 stars from anyone is because those reviewers had perfectly functioning products. However, if your product from brownbox.com or the ebay seller "brown-box" is defective then good luck because you'll need it. My Vizio Vtab was defective, a non-functioning HDMI connection and a sluggish/freezing interface only got the reply, "Contact Vizio with any warranty issues" reply from brownbox. Vizio told me to try a different HDMI cable, so I tried several and none worked, although they all work on both of my phones' hdmi connections and my computer HDMI connection.

I then replied to brownbox that I wanted a full refund and they told me to pay to ship it back to them. Only brownbox will send you a defective product and force YOU to pay to have it shipped back to them. I left negative feedback on ebay for "brown-box" since they cost me $16.50 (return shipping + insurance) and I have nothing to show for it. Brownbox then replied to my negative feedback and said that I had not contacted Vizio for warranty support, which was a blatant obfuscation (lie). This action proves the unethical and sycophantic nature of this company.

I have no problems with receiving a defective product, since technology is not perfect, and I understand that some faulty products are to be expected from time to time. However, to have to PAY to have THEIR broken product returned to them without recompense is unacceptable. If I could give this company 0 stars I would, but sadly I have to grudgingly hit the 1 star rating.

"I ordered a stylus pen for my Gateway computer. It arrived and it was defected. They were courteous, they sent a replacement immediately. It did not work either. I asked for refund. They told me just to throw away the stylus and they would credit my account. Then they claimed that it was not possible to do it through PAYPAL, as it was more than 60 days (of course it was because I was nice to ask a replacement from them and things take time instead of an instant refund). I have a non-functioning stylus and no refund. They could just send me a check... Very sleezy tactics
UPDATE: My credit card company issued a conditional refund after my dispute we will see how this will paly out.

"Bought a Vizio 26-inch LCD VA26L(refurbished) from BuyDakota.com on March 11th, 2009. Problems with TV arose in early June 09'. Contacted BuyDakota.com and told I was out of the 90 warranty. Basically, out-of-luck I was told by Kim in Customer Service. I then requested for her supervisor, Jamie Wonkum(sp?), an owner of the company for some help and he refused. Therefore, I am left with a TV that does not work and no way of rectifying the situation. In this type of economy that's not what a service oriented company wants to evoke in a response from a customer. I will do business with other purveyors on the web and not this one for the remainder. "

"I couldn't be happier with an on-line company! I had just about given up on E-Bay and all the scams when I found Buy Dakota. I ordered an upgraded battery for my new laptop and was dreading the excuses, poor service and headache usually associated with online stores but Buy Dakota wasted no time, mine or theirs, sold me the CORRECT battery first time and shipped it so fast I recieved it TWO days early.
Frankly I'm still in shock!! Needless to say I will be checking Buy Dakota out FIRST before I order anything from the net!!

Good Job Buy Dakota, Your company is the benchmark the rest should be striving to match!!
