"Shopping for a heater on www.bionaire.com, Sunbeam Products, Inc. doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions, I was lead to purchase a product because of a "FREE SHIPPING" offer.

I read all the fine print and placed the order. I did NOT get free shipping as advertised. I called customer assistance and was on hold for 15 minuted to be told that nothing could be done until the order processed.

I called back two days later, once the charge went trough (with shipping) and was once again on hold for 15 minutes before the person has trouble refunding the correct amount. The company system was trying to give a credit that did not include the tax that was charged on shipping. After explaining (with difficulty) the math to the rep, they asked me to call back one I received the item.

I called back days later when I got the item. Again, I was on hold for 15 minutes before enduring yet another call that failed to explain the discrepancy in the amount to be credited and yet alone why I didn't get a credit yet.

At this point I asked for a manager. 20 minutes later the manager explained that their normal policy was for credits to be given one to two billing cycles from the date of the request. This was not in the fine print! The manage also did not convince me that the total to be credited was correct. She insisted that the tax on the shipping would automatically be removed as well once the credit went through.

At this point, as you can imagine, I gave up on the order and the company all together. They are sending me an email with a return label. I am sending the item back without even opening the shipping box.

It is worth mentioning that at NO POINT did the company contact me to let me know what was going on. I had to make contact each time. I didn't receive a single email letting me know the status of the situation.

I don't feel confident in trusting a company that can't handle basic issues like this. I worry how they would handle product support.
