"I ordered an item that was listed as being a closeout item. Bikeman had the item for the best price that I could find. Because of some bad reports about Bikeman and because the item was listed as closeout, I called Bikeman to make sure the item (ultegra rear derailleur) was in stock. They said they had one left. I ordered it and it came within a week."

"I ordered a Salsa Down Under front rack from Bikeman on April 22nd. At the time, the website showed the item as in stock. On the date of the 22nd, I received an email from the company stating that my order had been received. On the 28th, I called the store to confirm that my order had been processed and shipped. The customer service representative told me that the item was not in stock. She also insisted that her company had emailed me about this the day before (five days after I'd placed the order). I meticulously went through my email (inbox and spam folders) multiple times and confirmed that the email was never received. She repeatedly claimed that the email was sent, dismissing my testimony that I was never emailed by Bikeman after the 22nd. I was a bit perturbed that someone responsible for customer service would imply that an already disappointed customer was a liar.

Don't use this company for your cycling needs. It may appear that they have items in stock which aren't being carried by other companies solely because they fail to update their website and inform their customers.

"Received my rim 15 days after placing the order. The product was shown as 'in stock', but after six days of waiting for my order to clear, I was notified that the rim would have to ship from the manufacturer. It would've been nice to know this from the start—I would've gone with any number of marginally higher priced sellers.

Also, the rim was simply shoved into a cardboard box without any packing materials or wrap.

"Wally and the guys were super knowledgeable, great to work with, and I'd heartily recommend buying from them for anything. They have great pricing, and are very friendly as well.

I had them build up a partial build on a Chili Con Crosso and they went ahead and pressed in the headset for me. Not a big deal, but I appreciate stuff like that.

I've recommended them to others and think that you should at least check out their site and/or give them a call.

"Google listed them as being one of the lowest priced places for these bags. Their webpage indicated the products were in stock. Reading the previous review we were not very hopeful that this company could deliver but we tried anyhow and received the predictable response:

"Unfortunately the Thule 7001 Go Pack Set of 4 has been discontinued. When applicable, please specify whether or not you would like the order to be split. Additional shipping charges will be applied for the second shipment. Let us know what you would like to do."

Don't waste your time with this company, bait and switch.

4 days later I was informed that the product is on backorder, with no firm arrival date.

Product is still currently listed on their site as "in stock".

"Was a little bit uneasy as they were offering Surly Nice Rack and $40 cheaper then anyone else anywhere. But boy was I surprised, thrilled even. I ordered my rack on the 6th of October at 9pm, it was processed and i received shipping notification on the 7th, and it was on my doorstep in superb packaging, exactly as I ordered it, on the 9th. Amazingly quick for standard shipping! Excellent store, I couldn't ask for any more. Please note that their shipping policy is extremely clear that it is no guarantee of such quick service, read it and understand it. But my experience was fantastic!"

"Reasonable communication, slow shipping. They seemed to have the best prices online, so if you don't mind waiting ~2 weeks, go ahead. While you are stuck inside waiting, ponder how much more fun you'd be having on your bike if you had ordered from the real bicycling oracle/online parts shop from the northeast."

"These guys are awesome. Great service, communication and outstanding expertise. I have told everyone I know who buys bike parts online about them. Also hands down some of the best prices.

Steve was great and I have no reason to pay too much for bike gear at my LBS now. Bikeman will always get the first shot at my patronage from now on.

"I was very cautious about buying from these people; they were hidden from my original search results because they did not have any ratings, good or bad, backing their credibility. But I found them when I expanded my search to all stores and they didn't have the price I was looking for (they were the lowest because AEBike made a pretty good offer that beat theirs). When I emailed Bikeman about this, they immediately gave me my asking price. These people want your business! I paid via Paypal, which I deemed secure, following their instructions, and waited. After a few days of silence, I got an email of my order & shipping information, which told me that my shipment would arrive tomorrow. Lol.

Conclusion:

I support this store; it seems to have great potential, albeit it has a lack of advertising regarding this charming bike store. Customer oriented, fast shipping, my only complaint is of the few days I was in the dark. Leap of faith, indeed. But otherwise a wonderful shopping experience! Let's help make this store great!

"What a bunch of buffoons. Needed a simple chain ring, they were out of stock and recommended another, more expensive substitute. Too bad it didn't fit as its made for a different spider, about 1-2mm too big. Product knowledge isn't their thing. Stick to Jensen, Cambria, Performance, etc and get what you need right."
